Reading other users private messages is an invasion of privacy. Go figure. I will personally be deleting every message I get from now on. You may say some BS about "knowing who a banned member was" because, as you know, that was MY private message that you posted in regards to banning Jamal's puppet, black out my name all you like. If you like to read other people's messages, (how am I to know you didn't go looking through all of mine) maybe take out the private.

Ive never seen a forum system when an Admin couldn't read every PM sent from the boards. If you want to privately talk to someone use IMs or email (don't email from the boards either use your client)

My beef is that it says PRIVATE. It is not private. Especially when someone's PM's get posted ON the board. I do not send information that I would deem private, but others have to me and I think it is distasteful to go through people's PM's.

I'd refer you to this post http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?t=63994 where everyone says it's okay to post private messages, /tells, IMs, and the same.

Whether or not you want to believe that I have enough respect to log onto your account and start going through your PMs and forums and whatnot is not going to really get me upset simply because...I don't do it. As of right now Reeve and I are the only two who can do it. This hack was installed on Reeve's other forum and it was recommended that it be on here. So here it is. It helps me fix a couple of problems with people's accounts and helps in assisting with accounts under review.

There's really nothing else to be said on the subject. If you are concerned that me being the evil horrible corrupt insane adminstrator will be logging onto your account and checking your PMs, then I say feel free to download them and save them to your computer instead.

Edit - I just wanted to clear up for Mirewen that I did not go through her (or his) account to read the private message. It was through the sockpuppet that was in question.
