POL Greedy for Recurring Credit Card Billing

If you cancel your content IDs so they don't automatically rebill & then go to reactivate the IDs, you notice on the day it becomes necessary, the 1st of each month, there is always maintainance & you cannot play & lose an entire day for what you are paying for. The only way to avoid being locked out is of coarse to let it auto bill your card....not all of us are as trusting as that....... I know I let that happen before & my account got charged twice several times, causing me overdraft fees & a lot of headaches & phone time trying to dispute the charges.

How do you figure you are paying for it? The first of the month is when the next billing is due. If you have no content IDs active at the first of the month then they don’t bill you and you hadn’t paid for that month yet.

Ok SE said there is nothing wrong and your account has been charged (I assume that means they charged the bank, and the bank approved the funds and thus it’s paid). How is SE blaming your bank?

In the Web Chat system and he told me to get in touch with my Bank because that prolly where the problem is comeing from. Ah I understand now. SE is saying you hadn’t paid, bank says you did. Best thing to do there is get proof from the bank, call up SE customer support and get a Fax number and fax it to them. If you don’t get any where after that, I’d make the bank do a charge back and get your money back.

With a growing number of users we are more likely to have players who use custom Avatar images and include images into their signature.


Avatar Images

phpBB officially states the following for the off-site Avatar images:
"Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB."

Reason being is that larger Avatars tend to mess up the board design. I have since found that 100x100 is acceptable as well, beyond that things start to mess with the board format.

Please keep Avatar images to no larger than 100x100 pixels, and no larger than 10kb in file size.


Signature Images

The issue with sig images is a similar one, large ones tend to mess with the board layout.

Please keep Signature images to no larger than 550x200 pixels, and no larger than 50kb in file size.

In addition please use one sig image per post. When replying to a thread you have the option to uncheck "Attach signature (signatures can be changed in profile)". This is not an issue if you do not use sig images, but does make a difference when someone with a sig image replies to a particular thread 20 times.

they all charge you a flat fee per month and you can fill up your character rooster. With FF every character cost you another dollar a month, so if you fill your rooster in FF your monthy bill will be like 23$ a month can we say BS. There just greedy JP that is screwing americans out there money yes we still play but ppl like me dont own a PC, and once I get one in just about done with FF. Then I can play the other 5 games that dont screw ppl over and give the JP a huge advantage. I know all for maybe eccept matrix, EQ im not sure of are most american made games. Guild wars is different in many ways take all the bs with a few thousand other ppl out the way and thats guild wars.

nah the reason for that is that one character is enough, you can play all the jobs crafts etc just with the one character. I like the idea of being limited to one character, so you can build up a rep unlike your mule that realy no-one know unless you call it Spriggsmule or going round /teling all the people you know that its your mule/alt.

Back to topic. I think Pascal mentioned something about your card being billed the 1st day of each month. And if you don't have any active ID's on the 1st, you don't pay anything. But if you reactivate those ID's, they will be added into the next month's bill. So if you cancel your ID's before the 1st of the next month, you will be charged for 1 month (the previous month). If you let it autocharge instead, you will be billed for 2 months, seeming to be a double-charge.

Are you sure this isn't what happened? It's just a guess, so I could be wrong.

They do charge you for Additional Chapters (Not sure what this is all about).

Additional chapters?!?! that's probably going to be expansions to the game... just like what FFXI did for COP. So far no expansion are out anyways so just treat like any other console/pc game that you just buy and play until you hvae enough of it

That is what I figured from reading the FAQ, but the impression I got is they will be released on a fairly regular bases to support the cost of operations. They also made it pretty clear if you want to stay ahead in the game you pretty much have to buy them.

The game is a hybrid between a true MMORPG and an online game like Diablo, so this hybrid payment system actually seems pretty fitting for it.
