[POL] Mid december's Job Adjustements

THF isn't a HEAVY DD job, its a lighter dd job, with more focus on controlling hate. Nerfing 1-handed weapons still creates an imbalance by focusing more on 2-handed ones.

Again with the "that job can do blah blah better than me, nerf them!1" If you want to do it so bad, and that job is better at it, play that job. But wait, you like the other features of your job more? Then GTFO, you can't have it both ways.

Sums it up.

and yea THF is not a DD like NIN is not a TANK it was not made to do that, but the players made it NIN TANK. Its SE's game not yours so learn to adpet or quit.

If DEF doesn't cause damage reduction then take off all your gear that has DEF on it and see how much you get hit for.

I will even let you keep your -Phys% and VIT+ gears on. Just remove the DEF pieces.

The reason you don't think DEF does anything is because the damage enemies do scale up as you level up yourself and have more DEF available to you. So you think your adding all this crazy DEF gear as you level up and enemies are still doing the same damage to you.

You lv 75 def 600 V lv 75 mob Attack 600

If defense was actually worth building up, then you'd see pld's in a lot more +defense gear, rather than piling on as much +hp as they can find. Yes, it does help slightly but no where near the extent that it should, and definitely not to the extent where it's actually worth wearing.

HP, VIT and Enmity will always be worth more then DEF. The single worth of a stat is usually based on how rare it is. Generally the rarer something is to equip the more worthwhile it is to have, and DEF is on everything.

oh well doesnt affect me too much just wondering if SE has nerfed blu solo ability to zerg T mobs now with the "recast times adjusted" thingy

probly not but /shrug not much for me in this update

grats to other jobs think pld will be able to beat nin with the sentinel buff?

Lol, wonder which bandwagon is bigger, the "gotta lvl blu" one, or the "blu is overpowered and must be nerfed. Blu takes some intelligence to play, ask anyone who has partied with a bad one (apparently there are alot). No different then Rdm.

yes stun and flash are lower than 2 seconds. I dunno about 1.5 seconds. The actual casting time seems a lot lower than 1.5 seconds so I dunno.

Think they are lower, a majority of Blu physical spells suposedly are .5 sec cast, I doubt SE would give us that many spells that outperform stun or flash, though only a few of them are ranged, and dont have nearly the range that stun does.

most BLU spells are 0.5 sec cast time. I believe Stun and Flash are 0.5 too. So no, absorb spells isn't the fastest.

utsusemi: ni is 1.5 sec cast time I believe, and stun + flash and a lot of BLU spells are all faster then that. I think 0.5 is the fastest any spell can be, and that's the chainspell speed.

Sorry, guess I should've scrolled down before posting >.<

lol

Eh? Dont assume just because if it does happen, it wont be possible. I like being able to solo exp on blu and avoiding pts. I'm not much of a lv whore either, the job appeals to me because it is a bit reminiscent of rdm.

I'm still learning but blue mage isnt a job that requires much(so far). Only thing that is a challenge is to stun when needed. Of course there is lv40+ with Chain Affinity and different subs, but is putting SATA or shadows up that hard either?

It doesnt matter if this job gets nerfed to shreds I'll play it simply because its a fun job

Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, same artist as Invader Zim and other cartoons.

I knew it. I thought there was a reason it looked so familiar, but I just had to be sure. Jhonen Vasquez is a genius, if at all eccentric. (thread derail ftw)

Back on the subject of defense, it does do SOMETHING, just not as much as it really should. As mentioned, def is on just about EVERY piece of armor, the only things it not usually on are rings and earrings. Still, it doesn't do nearly as much as it really should.

thf isnt a dd. sorry. :) its job is to control hate, sc to help control hate, and treasure hunter.
I used to believe this. Then I merited with Sneakypants.

Brianfist, Godpoing and Lionsheart are three of the best DD thieves I've partied with... although I haven't partied with many.

we dont know what sneaky is he is not a thf but like prince of thfs or something
no one else can beat it!!

I've heard Brian and Lion were pretty decked out but I haven't partied with em myself. With Sneaky though I just barely squeaked ahead of him (as /nin) on the parse, and that's after the buttload of gear I recently acquired from a retired friend.

I know if he was landing SATA on all his WS's, he'd own me hard as /nin. Still not sure where /drg lands in the scale though, that might be my ace in the hole.
