We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.

Based on the results of our investigation, over 3400 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while over 500 accounts were temporarily suspended.
Details of the violations are as follows:

- Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement.
Approx. 600 cases

- Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear.
Approx. 200 cases

-Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
Approx. 2200cases
*The above number reflects the total number of accounts banned within the period of a month. This does not include individual cases handled by GMs.

- Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that had violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline.
Approx. 900 cases

The termination of these accounts has led to the removal of approximately 2.8 billion gil from circulation.

*As there were no significant violations, we will not be reporting the number of accounts banned in this round of investigations. Rest assured that we will continue to look into and penalize accounts found to be engaging in RMT activities.

We would like to remind players that as well as adversely affecting game balance, the use of third-party tools or cheats can also have consequences that are not immediately obvious, such as introducing damaging viruses, and comprising the security of private account details. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within FINAL FANTASY XI, and we will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

The number is almost disappointing. I don't know if less RMT are coming back, or if SE just had a bad month. It seems like there should be more than just 3800.

i hope they didnt ban my gay lover, aimlesschicken :(

well its near 100mil from each server .. that stll alot of gil

probably more like 175M from the higher ranked servers down to 75M for servers like Alexander.

RMT are getting 'smarter' and not sending $ to mog houses anymore, they're doing trades directly to people which from what I gather can't be traced like deliveries can. That's just a guess though.. I have no idea what the GM trace system is like.

well, I'm guessing the trading is nearly undetectable, or we wouldn't have crafter RMT in nearly the situation we do... GOGO Ccxxd, Cccxx, Ccdxx, Cxmqd, etc...

You can't send more then 1 mil gil to people's Mog Houses since like over a year back, so they've been doing trades for quite some time.

wow, awesome. I was wondering why some of my fish started returning to a more decent price.

Gigant Squid are definitely not at a decent price atm =( Pyuguru or some lame ass RMT name is tanking the price. Even though it does rebound quick.

Does anyone know where to report RMT at in the POL viewer?

I'm surprised the GMs dont just read the Rmt websites for basic info. I got onto one of the websites by accident due to the wonderful links on KI popping up everywhere and the said the location where you go to pickup your gil right there on the front page. It cant be too hard to just wait next the the npc as a GM and look at the trades occuring.

So who's "leaving the game" this time?

Wow, look at all those windower bans.
...
...
...wait a second...

GMs will tell you that windower can make movement speed jumpy... But I really believe its just lag, because this happens to everyone, windower or not... But according to a GM, this could be due to windower:
"- Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement.
Approx. 600 cases"

Windower has this add-on:
"- Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear.
Approx. 200 cases"

Windower can do this:
"-Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
Approx. 2200cases"

Just to make it known to you, they arent really lying... lol

You really don't get when to shut up, do you? Go on, beat a dead horse more; it's really interesting to watch the 1000th thread get derailed...

Anyways, they need to ban more than that to put a dent into RMT. They will just come back. I think they really need to start banning more buyers and getting them out of the system. Then after they ban a few buyers, perhaps they can make a poster "Don't be like Johny" with a big picture of the most notorious gil buyers on each server and the word "Banned" across their toons. At least I could get a laugh out of it.
