All Worlds Maintenance (Mar. 13)

At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on all Worlds. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

We ask that players who are scheduled to enter Assault or Salvage areas, Dynamis or Limbus at the time of the maintenance wait until it is complete before entering. Please note that we cannot replace items that are lost during the maintenance process.

Thank you for your patience.

* The client software will also be updated at this time. Once this maintenance is completed, the client update will start automatically after logging back into FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

[Date & Time]
Mar. 13, 2007 from 17:00 to 20:00 (GMT)
* Maintenance completion time may be subject to change.

[Affected Services]

[Details]
- Notorious Monster "Pallas" will summon pets to aid him during combat.

The following issues will be addressed:

- The wrong World would be selected during the character creation.

- Level requirement for the item Warrior's Mufflers has been changed from 72 to 75.

- An issue where an incorrect recast timer would be displayed when the "Drain II," "Dread Spikes," or "Magic Hammer" spells are cast by a player who has Samurai as a support job, under the "Seigan" and "Hasso" effects.

- An issue with the "Azure Experiments" assault wherein cancelled an NPC conversation event would prevent players from advancing the assault.

- Players could receive the "Inspector's Gadget!" quest before completing the "Know One's Onions" quest.

- When performing an area change with the "Autogroup" icon turned on, it would not be displayed upon entering the next area.

Damit I missed the GS killing sprea.

Thats it? No mention of all the stuck players and dc'ing areas they need to remedy? Or will they just quietlydo that under this guise of simple routine mant.

They fail to mention the modifications to the Cargo quest in Selbina. I plopped a post on Alla and I'll quote it here:

Quick Reference: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Cargo

There's a quest in Selbina, called Cargo, where you can trade in Rolanberry 881, 874 and 864. The berries drop off the NM Poppable Crawlers in Crawler's Nest.

Ever since the update last week, the quest no longer lets you trade in Rolanberry on a continous basis. I believe the quest to be still repeatable, pnly that you can only trade in a berry once per week/tally conquest (I've yet to test since yesterday). Any further attempts to trade more will make the NPC tell you he got no money to pay you for it.

Oddly enough, this change was never specified in the update details. A week before the update I have traded in roughly 800k worth of Rolanberry 874s. Whereas my friend wasn't so lucky, who probably has about 300k worth of them but is unable to trade after update. I stopped farming them before update because I needed a break (killing the same monster over and over kinda drives you mad).

I understand that this is probably to stop gil generation from gilsellers or limit gil coming in, but this is one of those quests which is kind of fair game. I mean, you have to be of high level to kill them efficently and fast, and trading berries to the ??? isn't a 100% pop. Although the drop rate is 100%, it's not possible to generate a huge amount of gil in a short amount of time.

Just wondered if anyone saw this quest change documented elsewhere or is it something that was changed sneakily and not mentioned. This is bad for my friend who spent days farming them up. As I said, it takes time to amass such an amount.

EDIT: I got notified by a friend on-game that you can now only trade 1 berry per real life day. Thank fuck I traded my 30 odd stacks in pre-update (farmed over 3 weeks). My friend is stuck with 20 odd stacks at the moment.

Just incase anyone does this for gil, it's now no longer worth the time to do so ...

- Level requirement for the item Warrior's Mufflers has been changed from 72 to 75.
That makes absolutely no sense. Relic for all jobs is one piece each at 71, 72, and 73 from the cities, 74 from glacier, 75 from xarc. Those gloves are from Jeuno, and there's other pieces at 71 and 73. Was this supposed to be the +1 version (all relic+1 are level 75)?

Not the best way for them to put it, but they were just restating the "issue" to be fixed. That is, they had accidentally changed them from 72 to 75. Now they're changing it back to 72 as it should be.

I think it means they're addressing the fact that the muffler's got changed from 72 to 75? Regardless, I found it quite weird. It seems there's a vigilante inside SE fucking things up. (Server/Connection Problems, Gil -> Gils ... Warrior's Mufflers from 72 to 75)

Ok I see what they're saying, "Level requirement for the item Warrior's Mufflers has been changed from 72 to 75" was an issue being addressed, not a feature they were implementing.

What about the problem where the game crashes when you click off a buff?

Friggin jerks.

That thing about the Cargo quest sucks...

That was my primary source of income. -.-

i've not heard of quests being a problem. just clicking off buffs and DC'ing as well as friends trapped in zones.

That's not really a problem though. Clicking off buffs work just fine for me.

I'd reccomend you to do a file check of the FFXI files as I do believe you have corrupted files. Everything works just fine for me and a couple of friends. So unless all PS2 players or 360 players have the same problem, its not really a bug that needs to be fixed <.<;

Aura Steal crashing people was a bug, and they fixed that. The other stuff (DC problems, R0 problems, clicking off buffs causing you to DC) isn't really SE's problem as everyone don't have it.

I'm guessing you played with .dat files, am I right? I'm guessing you replaced the original .dat status icon file with the modified one with colored song buffs etc. Thus, when you cancel a buff it causes you to DC. In all honesty, that's not SE's fault. That's all your fault for messing with the .dat's =/

I went back to all my old files last night, and it still happened. But it was random. I could click off a buff in Sarutabaruta, but not Tahrongi.

Only a large hand full of people seem to be having these issues. I've only had 1 problem and since then it's been fine.

I have changed my IP adress reloaded the files and I stil R0 in the same zone. The funny thing is it happens in the same zones no matter if I log on my 360, PS2 or computer. I have reset my IP adress fro all of those and re installed the files on the computer and PS2 when I check it says I have no corrupted files. I have also never messed with any. dat files or used any 3rd party programs. So what do you think the error on my end of this is?

I really getting annoyed with this attitude. Ever since that fucking update I've had nothing but problems and so has at least 25% of the population. If EVERYTHING was fine BEFORE the update and NOW its NOT how the hell is it not SE's problem? I'm on PS2 so I can't mess with any .dat files and I scanned them all and nothing is corrupt.

Quite frankly, I don't give a fuck about Drain II or signet boosts, I'd rather have the version of ffxi prior to the damn update so I don't have to deal with R0's and crap anymore. Obviously SE uploaded defectively written files into my PS2 and screwed shit up. FIX IT!
