Sometimes you'll find a GM who really does care. But most of the time, they'll just do whats required of them by the rules, and nothing more.

Last I checked, claiming a yellow mob and killing it isn't ag ainst the rules, but the GM still made something about it :p I dunno, I must be really lucky with GM's, I haven't met a single one that haven't done something about it =/

exactly, but the GM actualy cared enough to realize that he was doing it solely to screw over your exp, which is harrasment or somthing.

True :p Although I did point out the specific things he said which pointed towards it (lol @him saying "GM's won't do shit about it."), so I guess you have to point them in the right direction :p

I smell a lot of new treads "OMG its time i quit this game". I know a lot of people
who soposebly quit but in reality they got the ban stick.

I don't need to say any names, people that have been around know who they are.

If I were to actually quit, I would write a nice, long post thanking a bunch of people and sharing some emotional moments that I've accumulated after just over 3 years of playing.

I don't think it would mean as much since I didn't quit voluntarily, because everyone that knows me knows that I wouldn't/can't quit FFXI. So, informally, I will miss you guys. Perhaps I'll come back as "Legotwo" and start from scratch? Nahhhhh but hey, you never know!

/farewell, for now. P.S. I might come back as Dmb, since he's my best friend IRL and he's busy with college. So if you see Dmb in game, Itsame, lego!

There's no echo information sent through the windower plugins. I believe you're thinking of FFXIapp, where you type /echo map on etc. to get the mini-map in the corner. Those are detectable, yes.

The Windower plugins, however, work only client-side, and display the information sent to you by the server. It doesn't send any information to the server, nor does it require the use of /echo.

Sorry to reply so late but never caught this. The way TPParty works is clientside, sort of. It however pulls certain functions that a GM could see. Echos themselves don't require server interaction, but they are detectable. A GM can see just about anything that your client picks up. Therefore certain information will be present that is not illegal or won't set off any flags, but will be apparant to a GM that you're using TP Party. Similar to how it might be apparent to a GM if you're using a SMN skillup bot because of the same times in between the summoning spells exactly everytime.

To prove it you'd have to be seriously investigating someone very carefully.

I believe the timestamp issue is that it could make it easy to flag.

Actually, I'm pretty sure TParty simply scans your RAM for the TP info string. Ofcourse, if you want to ban someone for having their memory scanned, you might as well ban people who are using an Anti-Virus while playing.

No, because the info isn't in the game itself. What TParty do, is add a "layer" on top of the game, where it adds the MP/TP of alliance and party members. And the TP/MP of party and alliance members, is saved on to your RAM memory. And for a GM to be able to watch whether or not you're using that info, they'd have to scan your computer, which is breaking the law. And no matter what you say, the law > PlayOnline.

The reason they can watch bots, is because, as you said, they do the exact same action over and over again with the exact same time in-between, in a pre-set pattern. That is a whole lot different from what TParty do.

And Timestamp, was detectable because it'd add the current time to in-game logs, and GM's can see those.

The physical display is a layer on top of the client, actions done within the information to draw out the hidden information is detectable. Party TP, alliance MP. The client doesn't take this information in because the client was designed for PS2 specs with lower memory. For this same reason the client doesn't take in the information for what's the MP or TP of people in other PTs or the TP of the mobs themselves.

Just ask yourself where the data is coming from and ask yourself why. Ask why they're sending to your client alliance MP and party TP when there's not even a place in the "legal" client for it to be displayed?

The only way for TP Party to be undetectable, is if 2 clients with windower communicated together outside of FF to read the TP and send it back and forth - and non windower people you couldn't then read their TP.

Keeping track of tp would take so little memory, that if the ps2 could not spare it, your game should horribly slow down to a crawl often.

When making games, it goes through many stages, it's possible at some point tp/mp for allaince were fully supported, but then for some reason cut out, and due to programming issues, rather than completely elimnate they just hid it.

The makers of the windower have said this information is sent to your computer, only the client software doesn't display it on your screen. what the windwower does is looks up the memory locations in your ram where the game stores tp/mp for alliance, reads it, and then draws it over the normal client window.

Infact there are serveral commercial memory veiwing programs not even meant for videogames that can probably pick up mp/tp if you tell it the location in ram where it's stored.
