I've never done the Maat rematch. You have access to subjobs the second time around?

You don't, but you will remain lv75 anyway. Hermes quencher.

Item duping they fixed - look at the history for Warp2 and the Teleport scrolls. Early in December I checked ffxiah.com for Warp2, 18 of 25 were sold by the same guy. Similar cases for the other non-repeatable quested scrolls.

lol

Anyone duping a scroll worth 60k is an idiot.
More than likely its an RMT Main who they all send the scrolls to to sell.

If you want to solve a TRUE mystery.
Tell me how Greengiant synths over 40 HQ synths a week on a Level 94 recipe. I dont know a BLM who hit 70+ at the same time as me, who DIDNT buy their Prism Cape from her. (If they bought one of course)

If you're level 100+6 (or even 99+6), lvl 94 synth is tier 1 for hq. That's not overly unreasonable.

Low-baller items are much less detectable though; if ffxiah.com didn't exist this guy wouldn't have flagged so much attention. Same reason criminals in the movies (...) ask for the money to be in small unmarked bills - treasury will/might track the larger bills but not the smaller ones, so they can spend and deposit it wherever they please. Of course by that time, Ahnold / Van Damme / Bond has swooped in and kicked their lilly ass so it's a moot point to them anyways.

It could very well be a legit main who just has a buttload of scrolls to sell, but with all the recent talk of item duping and a few well-timed emergency maintenances it just sorta pieced itself together. The seller definitely had a RMT-ish name but unfortunately I can't recall it off the top of my head. Quame or something.

=(

What about windower lite? ALL it does is put the game in windowed mode. You can't even take screenshots with it.

I honestly think this constant banning solves nothing. Each server just lost about 250 accounts and I can guarantee there are far more than that on our server alone. My thought is the sellers have already adapted to these bannings. Think about it, there are constantly RMT groups leveling which to be honest is seems pointless at first glance. Too many RMT means too much gil which lowers the value of the gil and forces them to pay more for all the accounts thus ultimately less profit. But what if they planned for being banned and created new accounts in preparation? By the time the current 75's get banned, they already have a new unused 75 waiting and reading to start farming the next day. The only way to get rid of them is to take severe, drastic zero tolerance policies and these bannings are just not enough. 2-3 years ago, it might have been a good fix, now it's just a duct tape quick fix and it barely even cuts it at that.

That is You's mule, he/she has 100+6 cloth...

I could care less about the account bannings success/failure rate, the main benefit in my eyes is:

The results of our investigation resulted in the confiscation of over 6.2 Billion gil.

They've knocked how many hundred billion gil out now? Sure it'll come back, but at least it won't be sold. They're wasting RMT's time, which is excellent progress as far as I'm concerned.

you

Haven't heard of this "You", But I still fail to believe they are crafting 400+ Capes a week. which is roughly how many it would take at Tier1 HQ of 10% on a good moon, more on a bad moon/day.

But how much gil is that in the broad scheme of things? So far the bannings have done nothing to stem the tide as far as I am concerned. Gil is meaningless to me save for the fact some gil buying asshole can't get what he wants. But what really matters to me is going out to my favorite NMs (Mee Deggi, Quu Domi, King Arthro, Simurgh, w/e) without 100000 gil sellers competing against me. I don't mind competition, but when it's a bunch of sellers who don't even play it for what it is, I do. The moment I can out and camp whatever NM without seeing 10+ RMT there 24/7, I will be happy and commend SE on a job well done. Until then, it's just weak attempts that only dampers a broader problem.

Ohh, you're one of those NM campers. I should've known by the hair on your chest.

The gil nuking has done excellent in the grand scheme of things. Look at the prices of everything. Granted, it's all relative - saving for expensive item X is no more difficult today than it was a year ago - but... well I digress since I'm not in the same boots as you. I don't camp, look at my cleanly shaven chest.

Why doesnt SE just set up a Bank system, for gil. But it doesnt work like traditional banks... Heres how:

You earn gil, of course, but instead of it going to your character, it goes straight to your banking. From this banking system, you can do everything you need.

For teleports: There are several selections you can make. Lets just say you can only trade 0-10,000 gil per person. Max. There will have to be a new invite system for this, or a new trade system (select "Pay for Teleport" from menu) That will take care of tele's since rarely people will give more than 10k a tele

For normal trading: Items are given a specific value based on desire for that item. (Basically, SE will look at how items are doing on the AH, and will base a max price off of that, but isnt limited to AH prices) and each item/set of items will have a max gil trade point.

i.e. User wants to trade Prism Powder (12) for gil. 0-15,000g can be traded.
i.e. User wants to trade Prism Powder (12) x2 for gil. 0-30,000g can be traded.

All trades will be monitored. If a mass amount of items is being traded for max gil, that should obviously raise a flag that the user is here for RMT purposes. After that flag is raised, they will be monitored.

Just an idea, even if its not so great. But you know, everything starts with an idea then grows.

How about SE just keeps putting every drop in bc/ksnm's and the gilsellers can monopolize every nm they want and let us have the normal mobs...

Ok, maybe not the best idea but... :P

You know, I really wouldnt mind if ALL items were rare/ex. I mean, Id like to have gil too, but if I can get an awesome item literally for free, then Ill take it.

Quaryes. He's been selling a bunch of tele-dem scrolls lately and tele-altep scrolls not too long ago. Not sure if it was duping or just an RMT selling mule but either way it's annoying.

Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that had violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline.
2800 cases
Best part of the announcement right here.

Who the fuck reads this stuff before they release it.. Their number's dont even add up, not too mention this statement:
250 accounts were temporarily suspended indefinitely.
WTF?!
Temporarily is a fixed amount; no matter the amount.
Indefinitely is an unlimited amount.
Indefinite means not definite. That doesn't mean infinite, it means they haven't decided how long the duration will be.

I wonder if they in theory did start banning people for windower, how many people would need to be banned before people stopped using windower instead of saying the banned people are liars and used other programs. Not saying this guy did or didn't get banned for windower, cause who the hell knows, but since so many people are sure he didn't, I wonder how long it would take to convince them if it was happening regularly.
It would take at least a few hundred per server. Too many people cried "I only used windower" then were later found out to be full of crap for people to believe anyone else that makes the claim.

I've quested each of the first 3 teleport scrolls 3 times. It's easy to do with a mule, especially when Boyahda Moss is less than you get as a reward for the bastok/sandy quest. Windy fame is easy with a bastok mule during the one week every few months that bastok isn't in last place.
