There hasn't been a post in this neck of the woods for awhile, so here's one:

I've always been partial to the monk class in Final Fantasy, and not necessarily because many of them kicked some serious ass (Sabin, hello...), but I also find it pretty satisfying to take out a Behemoth with a good old five-knuckle chuckle.

I choose Zell (that's right, Sabs), because of sheer cockiness and that one limit break where he runs around the world, cause that was off the chain.

Who was your favourite? Reason?

I bet I know who'll win.

edit: I had more options, but it wouldn't let me post so many.

i.e., Josef (FF2), Rikku, close enough to a monk, (FFX), and, well, Carth, because he was almost as obnoxious as Zell and kicked a lot of Gobbo ass.

Mine is actually Tim from FFT. It was just a random name but for some reason the game must have glitched. This guy was unfuckingbelievable. You have no idea--he could have easily ripped Orlandu a new one. He had Two Swords and thus was punching the end boss for 999+999. I went back and soloed the final battle with Tim the Monk. I have no idea what happened with that guy but he had some weird hidden stat or glitch that made him unbelievably powerful.

But for the sake of this poll I'm taking Sabin. Bum Rush!!!

Was Tim one of your randomly-named starting characters? My monk had the same abilities, and Teleport to boot. That made him insane. His name was Nitt.

Also props to the Geomancer just because I'm a Geographer

Tifa...she packs the biggest "punch"

I also voted Zell! His personality appealed to me a lot, and he had a cool character design to boot! My second choice woulda been Tifa, because she also has a good personality and is hawt, then Sabin because he just kicks ass, then Yang, then Amarant.

Sabin aka Rene Mash Figaro for the more educated took my vote.

Zell would score a close second . . . Call him a chicken wuss all you'd like . . . he'd still kick your ass

Younger... "brother?" At first glance I thought he was some bodybuilder who had strayed from his gym...

AAAAHHHHCHOOOOO!

Yang, of course. He also sacrificed himself in the Tower of Bab-Il for the greater good. You've got to admire that. :D

Sabin with yang in a not too distant 2nd.

If someone asked me who my Fav monk is in FFXI, it's a toss up.

Mokk because he's a badassed galka Monk that I can xp party with, as well as an old friend from High School.

Then of course there is skaw, who I personally believe did not just defeat Maat, but ate his soul and flossed with his spirit. Upon passing thru Skaws Digestive track, the Soul of Maat discovered that it was possible to create Cold fusion within Skaws bowels. This gave Skaw horrible stomach problems, so he then ate Vrtra to kill the soul of Maat. Vrtra was succesful in his mission, but was unable to resist being digested and later on passed in an earth shaking bowl movement that sank Atlantis. Thisstring of events eventually resulted in a conflict between the mythical creatures El Chupacabra and Bigfoot, which later came to be known as the "Austria-Hungarian war".

Skaw denies that any of this information is factual, except for the part where he discovered that Bigfoot is actually blurry, and all the low quality pictures are an accurate representation of the beast.

I'm bored.
Oh well, at least I'm gettin paid $7 an hour to type this.

My god Trippy, that had me rolling on the floor XDDDDD

Anyhow, I pick Zell. His sheer cockyness made him pretty awesome, and he had some of the coolest Limit Breaks.

All but Tifa, I will explain why soon.

I really can't choose.

Yang, because of his ability to clear enemies in one swift flying kick that defies gravity itself.
Sabin(Mash,) because of his Blitz attacks. I wish I could suplex Orcs sometimes. Plus Mantra <3
Zell, because in the end of it all, he has the absolute best version of Final Heaven(Tifas sucks kk.) I mean the guy runs around the freaking world to wind up his punch.
Amarant, as lame as he and FF9 were, much like Sabins Mantra, his Chakra is how Chakra should be in FFXI, a Party heal.

Tifa just doesn't bring anything unique or interesting.

Though, if I must choose, I'd have to say....

Sabin.
