**Possible Solution to R0 Problem!!!!!**

As mentioned firmware update could fix it too.

When FFXI first came out I had a Linksys router that would r0 from time to time, somedays really bad, then nothing for a few weeks. I've heard of others having the same problem with certain Linksys models and it wasn't fixed for me until that router fried and I purchased a new one.

I tried changing my IP to see if that would help, and even though the Shaw person that helped me over the phone agreed it had changed, my problems still continue in the same locations they were before, so somehow I doubt this solution works the same for everyone.

As pure speculation - the only way I see physically getting IPs changed to the effect of 'fixing' the problem with SE's servers - might would be the new route your PC gets to the internet bubble. And by 'fix' I mean allow you to move your ass from one broken zone - into a whole new one ^^

I still cant get into bastok mines, SE still claims its not thier problem, and i can't change my mac address or IP address, i even went as far as downloading a mac shifter, and i cant get that to work either.

Im at a loss, i dont know what else to do, i think ill call SE tech support directly and tell them they suck

FYI I have changed my IP address 3 times. The first time fixed my R0 problems in some zones, and I discovered it just shift the problem to other zones. Interesting to note its SIGNET based zones only that are having the problem. Sanction based zones, no problem. The other two IP address changes did nothing. I also reinstalled the last update to make sure it wasnt some corrupt files. I didn't suspect this to be the problem anyways but it didn't hurt. I had no problem in Port Jeuno after the update to catch the airship to the jungle.

o.O I haven't experienced any problems on my laptop or XBox 360. Wonder why?

To add to this statement, the first time I changed my IP address the entire address changed meaning I was assigned to a new network. I haven't changed it in years. This is when the R0 shift occured, fixed old broken zones, and created new broken zones. Thereafter, each new IP address I got the other two times were in the same network and the problem did not go away or shift to new zones.

Well if it helps, I changed FOUR digits of my MAC address, those being the last 4. As a result of changing this and unplugging my modem, my entire IP address ended up being changed, not just a few digits. Ever since, I haven't encountered any problems in any zone, on any of my mules.

I'm not sure if those of you who changed your IP addresses and aren't having any luck, only ended up with a slightly changed IP address and maybe thats the reason?

Either way, its monday now so hopefully their tech support office will be open and they'll be flooded with calls and realize that something to do with the update started this whole problem because its highly doubtful that thousands of players across the servers who have been able to play fine, SUDDENLY now are having all kinds of problems.

I can't even get passed playonline, and I have no router. Wtf is with that? All internet things work fine.

Oh and I got 0019 error message.
