Yeah, we're pretty inconsistent around here. We should never take reason, record, or circumstance into account when handing out any sort of punshments - including infractions. It should be the same punishment for everyone no matter what the circumstance. Hell, anytime anyone makes a mistake, no matter how small, whether its a typo or positing someone else's personal info, let's hit them with the ban hammer just so we can say we're consistent and fair to everyone.

There are bound to be inconsistencies because we have more than one person handling things. Different people mean different opinions and perspectives, thus different reactions. The site is too big and many of the posters can't seem to follow the rules, so there has to be more than one person handling infractions.

I don't see why there are so many people crying all the damned time about the modmins. If its so fucking bad and that big of a deal, go somewhere else. The people running this site do so on a volunteer basis to provide fun and assistance and many other things for us. Quit being so fucking unappreciative.

Because one of my 4 point infractions was for simply posting "Shut the fuck up." I'm sure other peoples 4 points are for more serious flamebaits.

I dunno, aside from Peregrine being banned, I haven't seen the mods do anything for us, just the people who think they're being picked on for the sake of being picked on, such as Hellstorm or Pchan. Those two, among others, are the root problems. Ofcourse I'm going to be fucking unappreciative if nothing happens to fix the real issues at hand.

Every time anyone says this in any context, it fucking disgusts me.
The best part, of course, being that in most cases, it's an even more ridiculous statement.

Skaw (correctly) perceives a problem in that the mods have been making decisions that cater not to the community, but to the one or two vocal retards who cause some of the bigger problems we have here (and they are.)

In addition, just because someone volunteers to do something, that does not mean they are free from any sort of scrutiny. You may disagree with what is being said, but anyone with the notion that someone is unaccountable to anyone just because they're doing something for free, get that nonsense out of your head.

Lastly, to those people bitching about people bitching, this is a forum that allows that sort of thing. If you don't want to hear it, maybe you should go make your own, and disallow it.


P.S.
I have one old infraction for "flamebait", which is funny for several reasons. First and foremost, it was a direct flame, in response to some actual flamebait, which to the best of my knowledge was not punished.

Also, I received this immediately after a particularly strong mod criticism. I guess I should be expecting another soon. :biggrin:

So far I see guys displaying 20s and 30s and nothing seems any different from them to me with none, aside from the fact they're wearing more green buttons.

Some people with infractions could be considered martyrs. People who stood up for an ideal others liked and got rated up for, but one that the moderators found tasteless.
Me? I think I got rate downs along with my infractions, but I make people lol so it's okay.
