Post your Ride

Next time you see his car driving around, pull in front of him, slow down, wave to him, and then speed off.

Haha. Yeah man, I'd love to. There's still a chance, but I live several cities over now. I'm on the wall about when to sell my car too. Maybe next year. If not, I might just drive the damn thing into the ground. Shit, it's an '02 with about 55k miles, so it's got plenty of life in it. I've enjoyed not having any payments for the past 3 years already, and that's gonna be hard to give up.

Damn. If you've paid it off, just keep it as a beater. A very nice beater.

Good point. ^^

I think my next daily driver is gonna be cheaper and more of an economy car anyway. I'm kind of (still love nice cars and would want one, but don't really wanna pay for premium gas and get bad milage - yes, I'm old) past the stage of needing a totally sweet ride. I'm really just in the market for some transportation for a decent price at this point.

I'm surprised it's not COATED in dust like every other car over there.

well we do have a lot of sandstorm here but i did took it to washing center yesterday

One of these. I'll get around to learning to drive in the new year when i've got the cash.

Omg Miros...you gotta see it! Full white/blue leather interior with a 71 VW Bus 1600cc engine in the back. Apparently they didn't put fuel gauges in VWs until 1961 so I have a 'fuel stick' with a black marker line drawn at the 'full' line that I have to dip into the gas tank... It's pure awesome

AH! I'm so jealous... I miss my Beetle like whoa. I had a 68 Beetle Convertible for a good chunk of high school. Had to sell it when I went to college though. =( Wait until winter! You will get the cursed windshield fog of doom. That car is such a trip though, enjoy! You'll have some stories to tell... Beetle owners always do.

I used to have the Tein HAs if I remember right. I liked them a lot, but having the EDFC inside the car was too good to pass up, so I switched to the Flex model.

Yep, those are good ol' gun metal Model 5s. :P

Wow who ever installed the EDFC on Flex did a really nice job

High five, high five.
Thanks for the help man. I had to reverse 2 of the wires though, lol. It wouldn't keep presets till I did that. :/

The convertibles are nice and this is a summer only car. I used to drive a 74 but I wanted the old interior style and I wanted a more 'finished' beetle. I'm looking forward to May when I break this sweety pie out :)

Bought a new summer ride last night :)

kickass car >_>

but you may wanna check for 'Hitler's Revenge' as my friend likes to call it >_> In some of the old Beetles fuel lines have a tendency to fail in various ways. You wanna check for corrosion, tears, abrasion, rust and broken brackets along the fuel line. My friend had a beater one from the late 40s he was restoring and the fuel line was corroded and sprayed fuel all over the engine. Thankfully we noticed the flames coming out of his car as he pulled into the parking lot and put it out. So if you ever see an old bug with burn marks on the hood you know why now >_>

Yeah well, when we started driving, gas was also under a dollar per gallon. I am too used to paying $4.40+ now. Ain't worth it. I'm about to start riding my bike everywhere man.
