Gonna put my two cents in after reading a few posts and not all. Let me start off with saying my stance on the Original ToD thread and how I personally think it should be worked although you will never be guaranteed to work as such. I agree with allowing the thread basically on the merit the ToD can be used to benefit someone regardless of their reasoning for not camping it on their own and I agree there are abuses of the thread such as Vang's General Discussion thread which eventually turned into an off topic flame. If you have competition and they are making gil or still waiting to recieve the drop, then posting it is rude and unsportsman like. I know NM hunting is a huge competitive thing, but once someone claims you should give up your differences and congratulate him or her and the claimer should have the decency to not post the ToD to potentially hurt the competition. There are very few instances where posting a ToD like this is ever warranted such as Mysticmaker or Charby where the repop is a constant time and I would only consider it worth posting if no one I know needs it and there was no one else there camping. Most of you see this as a free ride and those people didn't work for the ToD, but you are completely wrong. I am forcing those people to work harder because now instead of there being little to no competition, there will be far greater competition.
You have to realize that although you think people don't work hard enough to get a ToD there is more to camping a NM than just that. Take Mysticmaker for instance. He is a level 50-52 NM easily soloable by a 67-70 job; however, the earring he drops is 47. Which means that if you weren't already a high level player, your chances are slim without help. Often the only way to get people to come help you camp in situations like this is to have an exact ToD so you don't waste their time. Now granted they could wait to get ToD and then camp it later but if no one knows about the NM's window then I see it staying there unclaimed as a waste. I see it as more important that someone get a useful piece of gear than bitching about them not putting effort into obtaining that piece of gear. I see one more person with armor that will make them better at their job and make my exp or someone elses that much better.
Now I don't personally agree with Shaunessy because mainly he is a dipshit and he posts anything and everything, but he does bring up a good point. He shouldn't have written his OP as he did but nonetheless, the point is still there. Do you have a right to crap on that thread? Absolutely not. You have no right to post in there unless you have something to contribute and posting junk like BB's ToD does not constitute worthwhile information. There are rules to adhere to on every board and that thread isn't an exception. You have every right to disagree with the thread and you have every right to express your opinion, but you do not have the right to crap on the thread.
I find it kinda humorous that people like Baja attack the thread but when it comes down to it, he and others like him use the information anyways. You attack those people as lazy and worthless because they cannot be bothered to get a ToD, but you are no different for using it to get Morbol's. Baja knew he wasn't earning the ToD, he knew there was competition already there and he knew the sole reason Vang was posting it was out of spite for a single person camping. These are all reasons you give against making such a thread and allowing it to exists, but when it comes down to benefiting you, you WILL use it and make any excuse to justify using it. If you are against it be against it, but don't sit there and tell me its wrong when you will take full benefit from it. It's like you telling me stealing is wrong and I shouldn't steal because it takes away from others and I didn't earn it, yet you steal because you can get away with it.
