Preparations for Maat

As long as you have signet, the effect is always active in BCNM's, Dynamis, Limbus, Promyvion and Sea. Sky is iffy depending on if your nation controls it. The only real problem is if you were like me buying up CP items back in the day to sell for gil, or if you started leveling in TaU areas for a long time (and obviously, are not Rank 8 Windurstian).

Wait, here's a quick question:

What's better? Going on Windsday or Darksday?

Sleep is more important than the other spells, and you can use more than just Aero III

I've used the "All in One ChainSpell Strategy" and the "Sleep >> Nuke Method"

I've formulated a strategy of my own combining my experience and the strategies I've used. I'd like some opinions & ideas for it, as well as if someone sees more then one opening.

1. Head into BCNM (On Darksday.)
2. Stoneskin & Blink
3. Heal
4. Go in, Target Maat: Sleep, Sleep 2 (If sleep didn't stick.), Bind (Incase neither hit), Para, Gravity, and then Bind if Sleeps stuck.
5. Pop Yagudo Drink, Recast Buffs if Needed.
6. Chainspell >> Aero 3 4-5 times, depending on how MP looks.
7. Sleep, sleep 2, Bind
8. Convert, Cure V, Cure 3, Pop Vile Elixer +1 & Yagudo Drink.
9. Aero 3 till MP runs low or Chainspell wears, or he uses Chainspell.
10. Sleep, sleep 2, Bind.
11. Judge next actions by his HP and my MP.

Taking Vile Elixer NQ and +1, ProEther, 2 Yag Drinks, 5 Hi Pots, Cream Puffs, and Mulsums.

Any opinions, idea, or "WTF that won't works" are appriciated, even if not accepted.
I really am looking forward to trying this tonight.
 
He'll give up by the 6th-7th Aero 3 depending on gear if I remember correctly. I also didn't cure myself and just spammed Hi-elixers +(2/3) due to getting them in assaults >.> Also, your strat is pretty much what I did, although it took me 4 tries to get it right. I'd be against healing however, the longer he's not slept the more buffs he'll put up. SS/blink then run and get sleep on him. I didn't use sleep I once, but I almost never rely on Sleep I anyway.

sounds just like maat being ol' stubborn and iwin on rdm...


i wouldn't get so discouraged I nearly won my first try half assing it with no food until I was nearly oneshotted with a 747 asuran fists

I nearly won my first try, I didn't really half ass it, I had food, I had elixers etc.. (never used them), got him down to less than 1/2 hp.. one sleep didn't stick.. then again.. I got raped. =)

Not really discouraged. This fight is just so different then fighting him with BLM & SMN.
The last fight was kind of a shock; Last moments of the fight, he has 20% of life, I start casting Aero 3, He uses Asuran Fists but AS I am falling to the ground, the animation that Aero 3 got off showed AND I was kicked out of BCNM due to time limit.

It was more shocking then anything.

On the note: What is the use time for Hi Elixer? Viles are instant, but the +1 version does the same thing as HiElixer but has a one-two second use time.

I'm not worried! Either tonight's Darksday or Tomarrows Darksday; He will fall!

strat work for me was to aero and sleep till got low mp pop a pro ether then cs he dead before he can get to me

I went yesterday and got 100% whooped. 0/3

I have capped magic on everything but Divine, great, expensive gear, HQ staves, food, and more. Everything is completely macro'd. I went in on firesday and he resisted 5 sleeps and 2 binds. I didn't get anything off on him.

I'm starting to think going in nekkid has merit. Then again it wasn't darksday and elvaan INT sucks, but I got it pretty close to 100.
 
i wouldn't suggest it, there's always tries with him that are just bad luck

if you can't land sleep, bind you're pretty much screwed for a fighting chance unless you went about trying to rush him(he doesn't resist nukes as well as enfeebling actually)
