price jacking

Wow i got flame for this ???

Well anyway i have 4 haidate for sell still.

I dont really care if they wont sell for abit only taken up 2 mil.

I can really care less if a WWer come and undercut me which i dont think they will that why there wasnt any sold the last few days ppz dont want to pay 600k for it and seem like cant get 1 for less than 500k.

but LOL this was funny

See u in game

TTLY

Whats even more retarded is the price jacking on Light Ores. Who are the idiots that are actually buying them at 1m+??

That is a rhetorical question btw

No actually that isnt more retarded. Thats supply and demand.

This is a blatant attempt at trying to screw up prices by selling everything to himself...

it IS retarded. Supply and Demand is nothing, its greed and greed only, lol. Its really odd how a 1-1.4m jump in price isnt retarded. The buyers are more to blame than the sellers, but any way you look at it, its stupid.

Think in the real world. What if your favorite drink which was once maybe $2 and jumped up tp $15. Its just simply retarded to cheat people out of their money, and even more retarded if you buy.

Both of these, the haidate and light ore, are obvious examples of 'price jacking'

Stop crying about everything pplz. I didnt come to QCDN and cry when it drop from 800K to like 400k. I did what i got to do. If u dont like it then do something about it, get your self a haidate and self it to ur self for 100k drop the price idk. FFXIAH only hold 25 history on a item i can over write the history there too easy.

Grow up pplz and stop bein a cry baby, if u dont like it go mess with the AH price all u want i wont come here and cry about it if u can drop it to 100k.

Supply and Demand is nothing..? Wut? You don't seem to understand how free market economies work.

Your drink anology is irrelevant, because the light ores didn't -randomly- jump in price. Say... It was suddenly discovered that your favorite drink helps to cure cancer. You don't think the price on that item is gonna go up?

The haidate is a pathetic attempt that will never work, assuming the buyer isn't a complete moron :P

25 item history, but still got other servers whose price will still be in the same general avg. price range. Maybe some people will be stupid and pay too much for that shit, but hey I'm not a melee. Some people are selfish and this just happens to be one of those blatant examples.

This is ALSO an innaccurate statement. The other servers prices are not ever going to be guaranteed to be in the same "general" price range. There are plenty of examples for this if you'd like to browse ffxiah.com for a while.

Let wait and see if it goin to work.

I dont think any WWer will want to paid 700k for a log and sell the item for 400k. I stop sellin mine blow like 500k and kept it cuz i know WWer wont flood the market and the price will go back up.

It's ok people should just do what i'm going to do and never buy anything off Machao, he'd soon stop being a dick :)

Haha this is startin to get fun. I can careless if pplz stop buyin from Machao i have lot of mule i can bazaar in BD.

Oh while i'm here BUYING

Siren Hair: 320k
Adaman Ore : 10

When I said supply and demand are nothing, I was meaning to lean towards the insane jump, which shouldnt happen. I understand a small jump in price, maybe at most 200k from an ore, but an entire 1-1.4m jump is just insane

The current price is MUCH more reasonable than the 1m it was standing at. Last one s old for 500k, and there are 30 on the AH. Id expect it to drop a little more over a few more days, and many more to be up and available.

Weak flame, everyone knows NQ items are severe loss to crafters. So he's trying to 'fix' it so he doesn't lose gil - big deal.

Farm moar!

Shit, if it works, props to him - I was able to sell a Mamushito +1 for 150k and didn't stop people from comin in after and undercutting back to 120k. You're lucky on that synth if you don't lose gil from the HQs...

It's alright continue to be a jackass, just remember your reputation will come around to bite you in the ass at some point.

I didnt start this flame. I did what i got to do, If you guy dont like the price go head and drop it i can really care less.

QCDN have nothin but cry babies.

You dont see me comin in here and cry about haidate when they drop from 700k to 400k.

If you synth for skillups then expect to have a net loss of money (be it a minor or big loss, dependent on skill range and particular craft) as the price you pay for skilling up. If you happen to break even or make money while skilling up, awesome, and of course aim for as much profit or as little loss as possible while skilling up, but accept that you'll generally lose money overall.

If you synth for profit, the general rule to abide by (there are a few exceptions, typically in the consumable market) is that NQs will be break even at best, and often a bit of a loss, and you make up the losses and end up with a net gain by HQs. Sometimes you get a lucky streak and pop out more HQs than average, sometimes the opposite. Throw in breaks for fun and frustration.

NQs *can* be profitable but it kinda requires that either there does not exist an HQ, or that the HQ is a ridiculously low chance and the NQ is desirable in itself, enough to pay a markup on the materials (for example, manteel).

Otherwise it's just a matter of watching market patterns, since prices (just like in the real stock market) tend to stay in the same range but rise and fall periodically like waves. Buy when they're low, and resell (or sell the similarly-priced thing they craft into) when they're high. And of course watch for game changes (such as items being moved to different - more common or more rare - sources, or items being in higher demand due to a new event or a new synth or something) that will have a more immediate and significant effect on prices. Such as Light Ore at the moment.

Not quite sure *why* you made those and are so very upset at the thought of losing money as a result, but the general explanation is above. If you were skilling up, them's the price. If you weren't, then it apparently wasn't the smartest of profit synths in the first place. :P

He's not the sharpest tool in the box though to be perfectly honest.

The insane jump was because of two factors in conjunction:

1. A temporary demand skyrocket from all the people redoing DM right after update - note that this demand will decrease, although it will still end up slightly higher than the previous demand (because now Light Ore has one more way to be useful).

2. The time delay between learning about this demand and being able to produce a new and larger supply of Light Ore (such as by having gardeners focus purely or heavily on trying to get that element), led to supply remaining constant from pre-update, and thus unable to keep up with that demand.

Hence, prices rise. It is, however, a temporary thing - as you already noted, supply's catching up and as a result prices will fall (because buyers will see that there's 30 for sale, and ore isn't terribly uncommon, so they'll wait for one of those 30 to be relisted at a reasonable price that'll actually sell).

How long until prices fall, well, that depends on how many people are all "z0mg new DM earring NAOZ" and are willing to pay the temporarily inflated prices. The more people actually do that, the more it'll encourage ore sellers to try to sell high rather than give up and sell for something resembling the old price.
