The real question is, why would a RDM ever sub SMN.
because they want to just support and /smn with auto refresh helps them so they can keep hasteing, refreshing etc?

Its pretty much gimp or better depending how you look at it.

It may seem just like 1mp/3secs, but its really useful for keeping mp up, I have never run out of mp main healing, nuking, debuffing, buffing, etc.

Its really for keeping the chain alive and 4mp/tic is pretty nice, not much you can get from /smn sub but aerial armor but most melee sub shadows so sort of a waste.

/blm more ways to debuff and tractor and escape more well rounded that gives more abilities

But /smn for rdm is for really just mp recovery and keeping the chain alive.

If you need /SMN to keep the chain alive as a RDM you're a failure. Only people it even remotely makes sense for are galkas, otherwise the greater benefits of /WHM and /BLM put it to shame.

I don't need to, its just that I'm too lazy to lv blm /shrug

I am curious as to how much did you end up selling it for?

according to the AH thread, sold for 25m

Duelist's Chapeau is 1MP/tic
Dalmatica (and +1) is 1MP/tic

I could live with 25 mil... Grats~

If your just sitting in the WHM or BLM party casting refresh, hastes, or cures it doesn't really matter what your sub is, so /SMN is perfectly acceptable. Just like everything in this game, certain combo's have their merits for certain situations. THF/DRK is a reasonable example of such uncommon, but perfectly practical job combos.

Personally I think that /smn on RDM is very situational. I have it for instance, and I think the last time I used it I was main healing for a promy-vazhl (50-cap) non-boss party. (it worked pretty well mp-wise).

Usually if I really need mp for something, i'll sub pld... the only thing i miss is the MP pool ^^; (<3 auto-refresh for that though)

/blm and /whm are too obvious to mention why they're subbed in exp :p... and for the record, if you run out of mp on rdm, you're casting some spells that can be cut or the party is just imbalanced.
