Problem: NPC Fellow weapon/shield upgrade time

Hay everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with this at all?

Basically what happened was currently my fellow uses a polearm at the moment. It was finally time for her upgrade and so I went and bought a Long Sword and Shell Shield.

I went to trade both at once and Luto said, "Your friend can't use a shield with her current equipment".

So I tried trading just the sword and nothing happens. I tried talking again but she had nothing for me. I tried zoning also - nothing.

Any ideas please?

If your at upgrade 2 (shell sheild) you would be trading a spatha not a long sword.
