WAR/NIN tanking is the best way to go, since they make great DDs as well, NIN/WAR's can also tank. PLDs to a lesser extent because some of the bosses have nasty AoE's and other WSes that can be avoided by blink. Get as many of these as possible.

WHM is an obvious choice for a healer, RDMs are a bad choice for 30 cap since they are not offered much at this level and are good for sub-par healing only really w/ weak nukes.

Any other DD is fine really, RNG can be a big help for finding the Memory Receptacles with wide scan, but other than that most DDs should have no trouble.

Most people like to do this w/ SMN Astral Flow but this really isn't necessary, and simply astral flow burning your way through this is a bad idea, since it doesn't really provide any difficulty and give you a taste of what to come. I suggest you do things the traditional way, even if it is difficult.

The most important thing to know about is animas. These are a godsend, info about them here, they enfeeble the empty mobs and really just put them into a state of mental retardation for a short period of time. You'll really want to get these.

Awesome thanks for the help, I can use the following jobs, WAR RNG MNK SMN and BRD so i luck out. And awesome info or Animas

astral flow doesnt guarrentee a win btw. i had wipe with 3 smns. What you need is people good at their jobs. Obviously, not every job will have the same impact on the success. And since its only 30cap battle, most people have multiple jobs at disposal.

Animas can make a possibly tricky battle a cakewalk. You can go with just about anykinda setup if you have enough animas.

Not all people are assholes like that I suppose, I'm just such a nice person like that.

I knew you were, and so was I.
(Even though that statement IS true sometimes)

So true, did a Promy-Holla run with my LS, we had 12 animas total and not even one of us went below white HP.

Like others have said take the time to farm the Animas and it's a cake walk in the tea park. They can be farmed from EP mobs on the first floor of each Promy and drop with a decent rate if you TH and 2 or 3 people in your PT.

I did all 3 WAR WAR RDM RNG WHM SMN with no deaths. Take the time to read up on each boss's TP moves on the wiki.

Getting there is often the hard part.

Btw, the only thing WHM really has over RDM in promys is Raise, and more MP. (Which, to be fair, is important, but with bosses on anima-lockdown it shouldn't be an issue.) Both jobs have a reasonable amount of MP with MP gear and food, both jobs have Protect II, both jobs have Regen, both jobs have up to Cure III. RDM has the added bonus of Gravity for evasion-lowering (or emergency kiting), and has an easier time sticking Slow and Paralyze and Blind.

RDM's cure3 is not capped yet, at level 30, though. Anyway whover has rdm, is likely to have whm as well.

I agree that most mages are likely to have WHM at 30+ anyway, and that yes, given the choice I'd rather bring a WHM main healer than a RDM main healer (however, it's a "rather" rather than an "insist on"). I don't agree that a difference of 7 healing skill and 2 MND is going to make much difference on the HP healed by a Cure 3.

Srsly. Anima usage can lead to a party of 6 blind kids winning this. Spending an extra 20-30 minutes before each one can save you a TON of frustration climing all the way to the top, and then wiping. I get the names confused, but one stops regular attacks, and one stops special attacks. Both last for 30 seconds. If 5-6 people have one of each, you can stop all its attacks for 2 and a half to 3 minutes, thats a long time to beat down on anything.

The third, Terroanima has caused me more trouble than good in my experience. The mob basically kites itself, but its annoying. Could be useful in a sticky situation, but i think its just better w/o.

I did Promy Holla a week ago, supposedly the hardest one. We got it done easily, the boss was quite nice, he was easy on us, WHM didn't even use benediction.
Party set up was, WAR/NIN, WAR/NIN, BLM, WHM, SMN, MNK. SMN did most of the damage, so it's extremely necessary i think. We only had 2 animas, so that's all we used. BLM mostly helped heal, until at 20% she Manafont and started nuking.

You don't need SMN to win these, it's just a dumb rumor that started when CoP came out.

but it surely helps a lot if u have smn = ) so if ur friend has a smn job, might as well bring one.
