ProTip: /nin sucks for most jobs

Stouter said:
Thf/War will get TP faster from double attack than thf/nin will get from dual wield.

I agree, but only if that particular stretch of TPing to 100% involves and abnormal amount of double attack procs. Otherwise THF/NIN is the faster TP builder. But we shouldn't use abnormal examples. If we do that, when I triple attack (on both hands) several times on my way to 100% with /NIN, it'll be pretty obvious which gains TP faster. Abnormal is not average though. Baja mentioned that THF/NIN is slightly quicker, speaking of averages, and that is correct.

Ooops, as for THF being filler, anyone that parties with a good THF will testify quite the opposite. A good THF is an asset. A party that understands that and puts a little effort into teamwork with the THF will reap the dividends, and in turn the THF will perform better with a party that understands THF. I think Phraust mentioned a while back that a THF is only as good as his party. That could be said of most jobs, but holds particularly true to the THF job.
That said...A bad THF is filler. ^^

I'm not in the mood to argue what's going to outparse one so not getting involved in all that, but I read a pretty clear chain of communication.

Him: Thfs aren't good DDs. Thf's are for *specific purposes*

Baja: Then why would someone invite THF?

Him: They're a filler job.

then later

Baja: You aren't making a good case for THFs to be invited.

He's not trying to make a case to invite THFs. I'm not saying the things he's saying are right, but at least pay attention to what he's saying when you're refuting it.

Thank You. :)

SE lets you use other weapons for a reason. DRK on its own gets a lotta attack bonuses I think 3, correct? (warrior has one atk bonus and 1 def bonus). That and drk's have more str than a war and have souleater and last resort (and i'll even that out with war's berserk and warcry). So dual wielding axes seems like you can go all out and not worry about hate too much because you already toned down your dmg by choosing a lower graded weapon with lower base dmg. I could be wrong, I don't play drk, but that's the way I see it. It sorta evens out... in a way.

Drk = B- in 1h Axe, War = A-
Drk has souleater and last resort, War has berserk and warcry
Drk has more str and atk, war has double attack ability

Not saying it works out perfectly but... it's not that bad of a situation.
um, no? i'll take my 292 scythe skill kthx. using axes on drk is just retarded, that would be like me inviteing a war and making them use a scythe, 240 skill is what the cap of a lvl 70-71 war? if u wanna use axes level war and quit playing drk cuz u are obviously a dumb fuck :)

Yeah, because the 4-5 (if DA procs) possible hits of a SE Guillotine totally outweighs the 6-7 (if DA procs, <3 Brutal Earring) hits dualwielded Rampage can do damage-wise.

Maybe with Bahamut's Zaghnal and vs stuff where you simply lack enough acc to connect (I dunno...I guess the L90+ stuff? DRK gets PLENTY of acc gear plus sushi...) yeah scythe may be better...otherwise, what?

Uh... but the 4-5 hit Guillotine is going with twice as much base damage, and about 40-50 more inherent attack and accuracy. Also, Guillotine has an additional modifier besides STR which will boost damage even farther, even without gear to increase it... and finally its first hit isn't as gimped as Rampage's. (.5 vs. .875)

A DRK would have to go rather acc heavy to make Axes work in most merit zones, which simply isn't worth it. Note that Caedarva Mire is a huge exception, a bard could melee well there. >_> A Scythe DRK could much more easily go with a Meat based setup... in fact, I'd hazard an axe/axe DRK even with full merits (256 skill, still not equal too unmerited A-) would NOT be able to use attack food outside the mire... which is pretty crap.

ya ur right drk/nin doing 2k in merit parties with rampage is bad.

on a Jnun in Caedavir mire lmao... ive done 2500 guillotine on those... those take dmg like little bitches. now i wanna see him try and put up anything close to that on trolls in halvung with his little axes :x bottom line is scythe > axes for drk .

bahamuts zaghnal blows btw, and Guillotine will do consistantly more dmg than lolRampage . a drk with a scythe will out dmg a drk using axes, period.

/nod, only thing i disagree with is the meat on drk, ive tried meat on drk and if ur subbing war with zerk and the 3 attack bonuses i cant notice the meat at all lol hell i have 478 base attack /whm lol. rather use sushi.

Tride: brb don't like this food

Reya: wha?

*Tride runs off and is quickly smote by the neighboring trolls*

Reya: ~_~; *raises Tride*

What part of "/nin is great for a cannon" are you not fucking reading? I've said it at least 20 times in this topic. I'm referring to typical xp grind pts, not cannon pts.

Only, you didn't mention cannon parties untill recently. Otherwise I wouldn't argue with you.

and Stouter, I know exactly the benefits of /THF. And the only time /THF is highly superior to any other sub is against HNM's.

Who cares about 2k rampages? If you miss a fuckload and hit for piddly amounts of damage, you're going to suck. Know why ninjas are good cannon jobs? I'll tell you right now, it's not the 600-700 average Blade: Jin damage... Scythes hit hard as hell, and a double attack with 1 crit is like 600 damage. That's as much (roughly) as my average ws damage.

Started blu 2 days back and i'm using /nin. Sue me. Sarashi & Suppa should help a bit with the dual wield thing. Someone posted the difference between /war and /nin a while back as subs for bst, it was pretty interesting, i'll try to find it...
