Hi everyone,I was wondering if the PC and PS2 Files for running FFXI were the same,I'm having alot of trouble updating my PS2 Files and was wondering if I could take out my HDD and just copy the .dat files, etc from the PC version.
Can anyone PLEASE let me know?
Thanks alot everyone!

I'll keep this one as the main topic, no problems, it was an accident.

well if there was some way you can interface the PS2 HD with a computer that and change the file formats to PS2 then maybe as far as i know. i believe there still .dat files but made to run on the PS2 and not windows, just my guess.

Regardless if your internet was acting up, you only need to press the button once. Just a heads up before you do the same thing ordering something online with a credit card, and end up with 4 charges.

Yeah,thanks bro XD

The .DAT files work the same. However, the exe files function differently on the ps2. Just about every update changes these, and you could not simply use the pc version on the ps2. You think going from windows to mac is hard... If it was an easy transition between the two, pc release would have followed JP ps2 release much closer. Different arhitectures and operating systems. I have heard of people hooking up the ps2 hard drive to pcs and modding the .DATs though so they can change them like some PC players do.

so really then it is possible huh, yeah but i'm not that techy with computers, i can put one togather, but no clue how to interface it with a PS2

for all the effort youre better off buying the dvd copy with both expansions for 25 bucks and installing it.
