I installed the sixaxis driver for the ps3 controller and it was previously working with ffxiv, however, it isn't working now. When I open the game pad it says I have the playstation 3 controller, but I can't assign any of the buttons... they just don't work.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? I'm not sure what I should do in order to fix this problem.

I had a big problem with this yesterday, I ended up having to install all the drivers and such again. If you're on Windows 7 like me, then you have to use DS3 Tool as well.

still on Vista sp2 :) Also, I've tried reinstalling, I even tried restoring my PC to when the controller was working, no dice :(

Well the reason I went with the usb 360 controller is the Dual Shock 3 on a 64 bit OS requires you "Disable Driver Signing Enforcement" every time you reboot. Look at #3 from this website. Perhaps it is your issue.

I wanted something that was plug and play.

No it doesn't? I run Windows 7 64-bit and I didn't have to do it at all. I just downloaded the drivers and DS3 tool and was good to go.

I don't use motionjoy, I got sixaxis drivers :P

mysteriously got it working again haha... not entirely sure how! All I did was a reboot then did game controller calibration >.>

mmhmm <_<

But I'm glad you got it to work! haha

ps2 controller + usb adapter = just like FFXI, no drivers or disabling signatures or anything.

Not like you can use the 6-axis feature anyway.
