PS3 Exclusive List

Funfact: Sony didn't lose Resident Evil or GTA as "exclusives" on the PS3, they lost them on the PS2, to say otherwise is just dumb and therefore you cannot call them out as such.

Funnerfact: Resident Evil has been multi-platform since 2000 with Code: Veronica. And that was back when the PS1 was ruling the gaming world.

Code Veronica was Dreamcast exclusive for a time, then it was ported to PS2. Code Veronica X it was called and had a new storyline that followed Wesker from begining to end. Good game.

RE 1 was in the Saturn too.

Are there any new players at all via the 360 FFXI? I figured it was all just PS2/PC players with a 360 that decided to buy that version.

Also let's not forget people with PS2 version whose fat system breaks CAN use the same version on the PS3. Sure it's tiny compared to PS2 but then again so is 360.

When the 360 version came out, I saw more new accounts pop up in places like the dunes, qufim, and the jungles than I had previously. I attribute that to a small influx of players for a short time.

The XBox360 brought a horrible economical change as well as a fair number of new people. Whether the majority of people that played on the 360 still play or not I honestly do not know, but there was definitely a noticeable population increase when the 360 version came out.

I remember this, the economy went from decent to fuckin' nasssssty is no time.

Square doesn't multiplatform

The last remnant will be multiplatform, fat chance for FFXIII though. I have 360 and am patiently waiting for the right time to buy a PS3. Now I am ok with just 360, but things going multiplatform can suck when wanting to buy games for a system. Also, multiplatform games don't usually tap into both systems potential (ps2 games to xbox).

I am surprised though that someone that knew alot about the industry didn't know that RE was NEVER Sony exclusive.

Square approached Microsoft and they were more than happy to have FFXI on the 360.

SE and Microsoft were discussing this for the original xbox but failed because of conflict with Playonline and Xbox live. This has been said many times.

I'm not trying to bash you but who do you work for?

Yea, Square very rarely has a multiple platform release, Last Remnant is an unusual case. As far as me thinking Sony had exclusivity on RE, a few were timed exclusives.

RE1 came out on PS1 a year before the Saturn release.
RE2 again had a year on PS1 before PC/N64 release.
RE3 again had a year on PS1 before alternative releases.
After that, the Dreamcast did get Code Veronica first, but it wasn't the same game that came to PS2, and the PS2 was the only system it came to outside of Japan until two years later with a Gamecube release.
Resident Evil 0 was the first to be released in America on a non-Sony system directly.

I do believe my assertion that it lost "exclusivity" on the PS2 is correct if you count timed exclusives.

That wasn't directed at you it was to Van. I do understand though how RE can be seen as Sony exclusive for awhile. Saturn wasn't a big hit and was looked over. One thing that does annoy me is how people want systems to fail. There are many games that get lost when this happens. I still am bitter about not getting the full version of Shining Force III for saturn.

I guessed it was, but I wanted to emphasise my point.
