It's pretty cool. But 120 FPS.. why? Thats a bit overkill. Could've toned it down to 60 and knock a bit off the retail price. It's not like the human eye distinguishes the differences between 60 and 120 FPS that much. I guess if it supports slow motion recording, 120 FPS would be good for that.

wait, so how much is that?

The whole system records 120fps as a base, because it was designed to read motions it sees and convert them into stuff in the game. I'll agree that 120 is overkill for this particular game, but they just used the base record speed instead of messing with it.

Hmmm.. I so sense cyber sex with these things coming >.> eww...

If Walt Disney were alive today, he'd prove you wrong.

We can't see past 30 fps. Reason why we make games with such fast framerates is so we don't notice it when it lags or slows down. When we do see it lag out, it's because it's fallen below 30 fps.

I think the claimed 120 fps is linked with how well it takes in commands. i've checked out videos on this for awhile now.

And about the PS3's cam cell shading what it sees, i think it can and probably will do it.

nah you can defiently tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps- past 60 thats where its starts to just all blend together and you cant tell

oh and im not a fan of card games but i could see my self havin some fun with that

Yeah, I'd try it out. Maybe like the effects. But this is more micropayment than the Gran Turismo idea. Atleast with the GT idea, you could have chosen what you got. With Booster packs, you have no clue what you're getting.

That is one of the more common false myths.

The overwhelming solution to a more realistic game play, or computer video has been to push the human eye past the misconception of only being able to perceive 30 FPS. Pushing the Human Eye past 30 FPS to 60 FPS and even 120 FPS is possible, ask the video card manufacturers, an eye doctor, or a Physiologist. We as humans CAN and DO see more than 60 frames a second.

The USAF, in testing their pilots for visual response time, used a simple test to see if the pilots could distinguish small changes in light. In their experiment a picture of an aircraft was flashed on a screen in a dark room at 1/220th of a second. Pilots were consistently able to "see" the afterimage as well as identify the aircraft. This simple and specific situation not only proves the ability to percieve 1 image within 1/220 of a second, but the ability to interpret higher FPS.
