PS3 is hurting!

Wii has a shorter lifespan built into it by less advanced technology.

The PS2 was the least advanced system of the 3 going into the last generation and it's on its 6th year, winning 56 of the 63 months its had direct competition from last-gen or current-gen systems. 'Technology' only matters if it's taken advantage of.

Right and I heard from my friend's girlfriend's cousin that Epic Games is pissed off at Microsoft and is going to make Gears of War 2 as a PS3 exclusive. I heard it somewhere so it must be true!

Too bad it isn't a rumour that EA is unhappy with the way the PS3 is right now. That comment might have held some merit otherwise.

I think the biggest thing that's turned me off on Sony is their massive arrogance about the whole thing. The comments about how 'real' gamers will choose the PS3, about how rumble is a 'last-generation' feature, the outright lies about supply (and claiming the PS3s in-stock are due to a 'good supply chain' when they're the same units that were there last week) and now how they're handling the EU launch.

I'll admit to backing Sony in the handheld market last year (and despite that, I still love my PSP for homebrew and PS1 games on the go) but they're dropping the ball in much the same way the PSP has struggled.

I'd prefer buying it now to get a version able to play PS2 and PS1 games, then to buy a new one only able to play PS3 games. I dunno about you, though...

That's the European version. There is a newer version for the United States being made that is not like this. But hey, do what you want. I know I'm not spending my money.

Let's not forget the "People will enjoy games without sound" tidbit made in regards to the faulty initial emulation.

They'll see a greater decline when they decide to not make it support PS2 games like a PS2 would.

Only a few more inches and the whole company will fit in the grave! Keep up the good work Sony! Only a little bit left to go!

Your response is a disappointment. Maybe if the next version of Zelda involved smashing your dick with a hammer to walk forward you'd view it as technologically superior, regardless if the slower, less convenient controls added any actual refinement to the control.

Face it, you've been fed a gimmick, hook line and sink and you're too proud to admit it. You and a million other idiots who consider Zelda a compelling reason to buy a Wii. Or maybe it's backwards compatibility like PS3 doesn't have... oh wait!!! Fuck, I'd hate to rain on your parade.

And FFXII wouldn't be HD, I said a direct port, where the only difference is the media. Just like Zelda, which is identical to the gamecube version. I guess they are able to sell those Wiis at profit for a reason. It's too bad I don't have to buy a PS3 version for that, just like you don't need to buy a Wii version of Zelda, just stick the gamecube version into your Wii and it's the same thing, maybe better. Too bad FFXII managed to sell without having to release a PS2 and an identical PS3 version for a stupid marketing campaign to impress idiots such as yourself.

Hell, I can play FF7 on my PS3, and that's gotta have sold more copies than Zelda. I guess we can throw that in as a PS3 launch title by dumb fanboi logic.

It isn't our fault you're too retarded to swing your arm in any motion to strike down an enemy. All the friends I have had over in the past few days have enjoyed the motion based attack system instead of jamming A for attack.

You are an idiot simple as that. If you made FFXII as a PS3 exclusive. EX-fucking-CLUSIVE to PS3 as a launch title there wouldn't have been any PS3s for awhile for everyone trying to get one for the new FF. That is how popular FF is over anything. I'm not saying buy a Wii just for Zelda. I got a Wii because there are titles, oh like Super Smash Brothers Brawl for Wii. Interesting isn't it? I am sure you'll be spazing to find a Wii when SSB:B comes out because you want to play it so badly. Good luck finding a Wii while I sit at home playing SSB:B. Also Wii Sports is fun.

Why are you defending Gamecube? You couldn't even think of a great launch title for GCN. Rogue Squadron II MAYBE. Too easy to beat though.

I never said FFXII wasn't backward compatible did I? No I said that on the PS3 FFXII would have been formatted for Blu-Ray and been in high definition. FFXII on PS2 not formatted for HD. I'm sorry but when you play a HD game like GoW, Madden 07 (360/PS30), CoD3(360/PS30) and well I shouldn't have to go on. You frown on other games because they look absolutely stunning. Now put that technology to FFXII and you have the best looking FF ever unless you have an uber graphics card for FFXI on the PC.

FFVII has also been out longer than LoZ:TP. Of course it has sold more you bumbling twit. I never said call FFVII a launch title either you are just too stupid. If Sony had told hey make FFXII for PS3 guarenteed complete sell out of the system everywhere. You wouldn't see one in stores until about well now, and it would be in the hands of another guy wanting to play FFXII.

Now pull the stick out of your ass because a PS3 isn't worth it now while I have fun playing my Wii. I also saved 350 dollars. You know I feel damn good.

Edit: Also Sony has a tendency to have problems with their first generation systems. Look at all the problems PS2 had with in a year of release. The ejector door stopped working on one of mine a year after sending in my original and that was a new one Sony sent me because the first one burned scratches into a copy of Madden 03.

The hand movements aren't even congruent to the game movements. I might take some satisfaction out of a forward lunge of the remote = a forward lunge of the sword even if it didn't read the sword angles or speed had they at least made the effort to make them as close as possible, but they just took the buttons of the controller from the gamecube version and randomly assigned remote control movements to copy them.

That's why it's not a wii game, it's a gamecube game. The control scheme is the gamecube model with the wii-mote tacked on. The only fucking reason to upgrade from gamecube to wii is for the remote and they didn't even properly implement it for the title you're boasting on the wii.

Retard, I own a Wii. Unlike dumb assholes on the internet I don't criticize game systems I don't actually own.

As far as FF12 exclusive to PS3, for a guy who calls other people idiots you don't seem to grasp basic concepts. I'll try and dumb it down for you a little, pay attention.

ZEL-DA... GAME...CUBE... GAME. CAN PLAY ON NIN-TEN-DO WEEEEE.
FIN-AL FAN-TA-SY... PLAY-STAT-ION GAME.. CAN PLAY ON PEE ESS THREE.

They are the same thing, except for the hell of it, they didn't bother to make a version of FF12 that wouldn't play on a PS2... because, I don't know, it's not a next gen game just like Zelda isn't?

Of course if there was a version of ff12 that was PS3 format, you stupid idiots would buy a PS3 for it and claim it's a great PS3 title, even though right now you can play it on a PS3 already.

The point I'm trying to make is pretty simple.

If it runs on a last gen system identically, IT'S NOT A FUCKING NEXT GEN GAME. You're just one of those idiots that marketing research firms get rich off of, by repacking the same product with a shinier box and charging 5 more dollars to people like you.

As far as Smash Bros, that's why I bought a Wii, because I knew I'd want to own the system it was going to be an exclusive to, so I... you know, bought it now so I can play with it since I'm buying it anyway. Maybe

The rest of this is just nonsensical rambling, arguing about shit never even brought up or criticizing one system for stuff you defend another system for. Of course you would demand high def graphics of a PS3 version of FF12 while the Wii zelda is graphically identical to the GC version.

So then by your logic, Rayman, Madden, Marvel: UA, Trauma Center et al are not next-gen games because they play on last-gen consoles or handhelds? Is everything that gets a last-gen port exempt from being 'next-gen' simply because they can be played on older hardware?

Well first off, it's not that Zelda gets a last-gen port, rather that it IS a port to Wii from last gen. It's not that they made a gamecube version, it's that the Wii is just a slightly altered copy of the gamecube version.

Unless they've been altered in some way that pushes their performance past what older hardware could output, it's not a next gen title simply because they stuck it on a next gen disc. I don't need a wii to play zelda, don't need a playstation 3 to play fight night 3, the difference is that fight night round 3 and xbox 360 version of fight night 3 outputs high def graphics that the PS3 and X box versions can't.

Problem is your standards are too low because you're being far too easy on the Wii. You couldn't have played Super Mario World on the NES, you couldn't have played Mario 64 on the SNES. You couldn't have played Mario Sunshine on the N64. These games show a progression of technology, the wii HAS NOT ONCE yet. All it rests is on the Wii-mote and the wii-mote isn't even needed for Zelda in the form they're delivering nor is it for super smash bros which is gonna use a gamecube controller.

The other games are half assed for their price because the lazy ass developers are selling their games based on the wii popularity and novelty of the remote, not based on making an actual good game.

Jamming A on GCN isn't as fun as the Wii version. Like I said you are just too retarded. Do you not know what exclusive means? I said EXCLUSIVE. As in if it came out for ONLY ps3 and a PS2 version never saw the light of day there wouldn't be 10-13 PS3s sitting on a Best Buy floor, 5-7 on an EB floor, 5-7 on a Gamestop floor, and for the hell of it 6-8 at Circuit City. I didn't go to Circuit City I just asked my two friends who work in games how many PS3s they have had in stock and for how long for. They said they've had the systems in the back for awhile. Circuit City doesn't put their systems by the games you have to get someone to bring it out of the back to buy one. Atleast at my Circuit City that is how the system goes. You're saying it is for the PS3 because FFXII is one of the games compatible for the PS3 from PS2 that is just a retarded statement hands down. FFXII is compatible to PS3 because FFXII came out what 3 weeks before PS3 did? Damn Firestreak you are stupider than these "idiots". You just have you panties in a wad because you bought a 600 dollar system for more expensive DVDs. Sorry, but I can't beat Pick of Destiny for 15 bucks for DVD. Borat comes out a week from today another 15. How much are you paying for Blu-Ray?

Also didn't LoZ:TP for GCN come out AFTER the Wii release? So how do you know that the GCN version wasn't moded from Wii controls? Nintendo probably made a GCN version because of the short supply of Wiis just for the utter demand of the Wii? Also of course you can play the GCN version on the Wii. Wii doesn't limit the backwards compatiblity and it never will. Nintendo is cool like that see GBA and DS. Did you buy both version that you are trying to make this argument? Sounds like someone is the real idiot.

You're also comparing a fairly new technology that hasn't been used since that stupid glove for NES and complaining it isn't congruent to the game? I would say that it is a hell of an improvement over that horrible glove. If LoZ:TP came out a year after Wii release with better technology to add to the Wiimote that would make the attacks more based to actual movement that you make would that satisfy you and stop crying because your ps3 isn't even that great yet?

I plan to get a PS3 at some point but I enjoyed the cash in my pocket from the Wii because face it the price of the PS3 will drop soon, and when I get a full PS3 for less than what you paid I still win.

To the EA thing: The rumor is true EA doesn't like how the PS3 is going at all. If they did there would be an MLB 07 The Show for PS3 comming out tomorrow instead of PS2. No Firestreak MLB 07 isn't a PS3 title because it will probably be compatible with your PS3. The box says Playstation 2.

To the Halo comments: Halo has no grounds on Goldeneye (the original one for 64). Goldeneye was just amazing and still is. I do agree tho that Halo multiplayer is fun, but Goldeneye was alot better. Especially when you learned all the spawn points of people and just laid down motion detector mines at the spawn point to blow them back to hell then back to another motion mine.

Edit: Madden 07 was out on GCN before Wii. Herro thar port!

The real question becomes if you'd be more satisfied with PS3 if they ported PS1 and PS2 games into PS3 format even when they play on the PS3 already in their old format? As in, would you consider PS3 launch line-up improved by an identical port of FF12 that's pushed onto a Blu-ray disc without any actual improvements?

If you answer yes, you're thinking irrationally because there's no functional gain by moving data onto a format that's only going to limit compatibility for no actual gain in compatibility.

If you answer no, then you admit that the Wii-launch isn't improved by the wii version of Zelda, rather Nintendo has honed into the irrational nature of the masses and even got you defending it.

Well, to be honest, releasing a secondary release of FF12 as a PS3 title is actually even more retarded than Twilight Princess was to Wii. Since, well, the control scheme would be exactly the same, where as there is that difference for Twilight Princess.

Sorry, but my internet IQ test is finished and the results are in. We advise you, please don't have children.

First off, FF12 exclusive to PS3, that's a conversation you're having only with yourself unfortunately. I said if they ported a PS3 version, I didn't say they had to kill the PS2 version. Considering Squaresoft is not Sony that would probably be pretty damn stupid financially.

I said if they made a PS3 version, pay attention. You enjoy shaking your left hand instead of pressing B, congratulations. I think it's moronic to increase the amount of effort needed to control the character without adding in even a tiny bit of control in the process. Throw in, it's counter intuitive because it's not the same movement in your hand as with your character, and the results are in, no actual gain... just preference.

They delayed the Gamecube release to give Wii owners a treat, but then again it's all relative. They didn't speed up the wii release, they slowed down the gamecube release, which was already done. Guess gamecube owners don't matter when you're trying to push them onto the next system, not like they're customers too.

It's a gamecube port, I know because it's common knowledge. You assume elsewise because you're probably a 10 year old.

Yes, that would satisfy me. When they use the Wii-more correctly in a zelda game, I'll say, "Wow, this game was worth getting a Wii to play!" Until then, why give it free points?

I could afford it, you couldn't. I could also afford a 360 if I wanted and make it a nice triangle. Maybe you'll get it in a year for 500 bucks instead of 600. I've spent a year getting cross platform titles on next gen, getting blu-ray instead of dvd, playing exclusives you can't touch for the price of 100 bucks.

You don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. The PS3 is getting TWO baseball games. We got 2k7 today and we're getting The Show in a couple months. The Show is being made by sony and is a sony consoles exclusive, and EA isn't making jack shit cause they've got no MLB license. Don't fuck with me on baseball games, I wouldn't buy a system without knowing what's going on there with the only sport I really give a shit about. Have fun with your Wii baseball.

dictionary for you

For your lazy ass I'll educate you myself. ex·clu·sive /ɪkˈsklusɪv, -zɪv/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ik-skloo-siv, -ziv] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective

3. limited to the object or objects designated: exclusive attention to business.
4. shutting out all others from a part or share: an exclusive right to film the novel.

I said make FFXII exclusive not every game made for PS2 and PSX. You are a fucking retard. If FFXII was put exclusively (Read definitions again if you have to Fire) on PS3 A) it would be hi-def B) It would sell the systems and not gathering dust C) On Blu-ray there would have been more hunts more storyline or even more CG because Blu-ray holds far more data than a DVD that I will give to Blu-ray. I never denied the backwards compatiblity. You just can't comprehend anything because you lack an education and just sit around jerking it to your PS3 all day over nothing. If Wii made it so you could play past Nintendo exclusives would you perfer... wait nevermind I shouldn't have to finish this because you know where this is going. Nintendo is so past compatible they even went back to the NES. Although on a database so we don't have to "buy" them again.

Release date of LoZ:TP for Wii

Release date of LoZ:TP for GCN

I win. Hands down. LoZ:TP is a port to Wii. I also believe indirectly I proved that you own a GCN and Wii version of LoZ:TP. You sir, are an idiot.

Game. Set. Match.

Edit: 2k7 is made by Sega not EA. EA didn't renew the license which is retarded. The Show in a few months? By your logic you could just get it tomorrow for PS2 and call it a PS3 exclusive because it's for ps2 and the ps3 can play ps2 games! They aren't getting The Show. I bet PS3 like everything else is getting The BIGS.

About equally retarded, they could throw in six-axis functionality. Of course Zelda is controlled by nintendo and FF12 was third party, they Square has better things to do than print 2 versions to sell playstations to idiots like romperstomper.
