I said make FFXII exclusive not every game made for PS2 and PSX. You are a fucking retard. If FFXII was put exclusively (Read definitions again if you have to Fire) on PS3 A) it would be hi-def B) It would sell the systems and not gathering dust C) On Blu-ray there would have been more hunts more storyline or even more CG because Blu-ray holds far more data than a DVD that I will give to Blu-ray. If Wii made it so you could play past Nintendo exclusives would you perfer... wait nevermind I shouldn't have to finish this because you know where this is going. Nintendo is so past compatible they even went back to the NES. Although on a database so we don't have to "buy" them again.

Release date of LoZ:TP for Wii

Release date of LoZ:TP for GCN

I win. Hands down. LoZ:TP is a port to Wii. I also believe indirectly I proved that you own a GCN and Wii version of LoZ:TP. You sir, are an idiot.

Game. Set. Match.

Nintendo fans, I know this guy is on your side but is he coming off as a retard to you guys too as much as me?

I'm not going to bother talking to you anymore Romperstomper, you aren't reading my responses and you're droning on like a moron about shit nobody is even talking about.

No you tried to defend PS3 because you can play FFXII on PS3 because of backwards compatibility.

Edit:

They delayed the Gamecube release to give Wii owners a treat, but then again it's all relative. They didn't speed up the wii release, they slowed down the gamecube release, which was already done. Guess gamecube owners don't matter when you're trying to push them onto the next system, not like they're customers too.

It's a gamecube port, I know because it's common knowledge. You assume elsewise because you're probably a 10 year old.

Wouldn't they rather sell a game that was done so people buy it to boost profit? Hell I am damn sure you would have bought the GCN version before Wii release and gotten a Wii and Zelda for Wii because you are just that stupid. I didn't even think to buy GCN LoZ:TP because I knew I would get my hands on a Wii at some point. Didn't Nintendo say at E3 06 that the originial announcement of LoZ:TP would be for Revolution (now Wii of course)? Even displayed it as a Wii game? What would make you think that the Gamecube version was done first when announcement when the game was under development was for Wii.

No, he called you an idiot for claimbing that Zelda was a Wii exclusive, and that its a major reason to buy a Wii. If its a major reason to buy a Wii, than FFXII is a major reason to buy a PS3, because it plays it too

Fuck it, I'm bored, I'll indulge your stupidity.

Either read my response, carefully read what I'm saying, or stop talking, because you really aren't bright enough to be calling other people out on intelligence deficits.

Thanks for the definition, ass. You said make FF12 exclusive for PS3 and it'd sell PS3s, thank you captain obvious. It'd also sell some PS3s if they made Halo 3 a PS3 exclusive, see any reasons that might not happen?

What you fail to realize is that Sony doesn't own the Final Fantasy franchise, Square does. Perhaps you've heard of them, you are a level 75 in FFXI. Maybe you've noticed recently that some players have been playing this game on Xbox 360? What does that tell you about 3rd party developers...? Is it Square's objective to crush the Xbox 360?

I never argued with you that making FF12 exclusive wouldn't have sold a lot of PS3s, but unfortunately, like some sort of rabies-ridden dog you've gripped onto this random argument as if it had any meaning to the general conversation we've been having. I said, if they made a port, I didn't say exclusive. I didn't say it because they're not as dumb as you to cut off the most popular system in history that they actually designed the game for originally just to get caught up in the console wars.

Thanks for the English lesson though.

Sure, they could have redone FF12 from scratch for the PS3. They also could have remade FF7 for the PS3. Fortunately for us however, they released an awesome last generation game right now - just like Zelda did. Instead of being stupid like you, they're making a NEW PS3 game, it's called Final Fantasy 13, maybe you've heard of it? I'd rather play a PS3 game that was designed for the PS3 in the end, if I'm going to buy a system in order to play it.

I'm going to assume you meant to say that it's a port to the Gamecube, and that it was developed for the Wii, since that's what you've been saying these last few hours. Unfortunately you're wrong, and everyone knows you're wrong except you and perhaps your reassuring parents who have been too kind to tell you that you were less than they were hoping for.

It's not like even if the gamecube version was finished first they'd have a reason to delay the release to motivate people to buy the wii version, right?

I could give half a fuck who said Zelda was a reason to buy a Wii first. I shot it down, you decided to argue with me about it. If you agreed with my statement then quoting me, calling me retarded and going on to explain how in your warped, rotting, cesspool of a brain I'm incorrect is an awfully bad way to do it.

About equally retarded, they could throw in six-axis functionality. Of course Zelda is controlled by nintendo and FF12 was third party, they Square has better things to do than print 2 versions to sell playstations to idiots like romperstomper.

There reason why it's more retarded in FF12's case, is because while they can use the tacked-on Tilt Sensors from the Six-Axis for things like movement, menu navigation, and toggling between targets, the D-Pad/Analog Stick method still exists to perform the same action. Which at that point, why bother?

Where as the Controllers for the two versions of Twilight Princess are drastically different, and have to be configured in such a way that all functions are used with both. That is more like playing an Arcade Racer and it's console port without a Wheel, than simply the same game with virtually the same controller.

Trust me, I'll be the first to admit saying that Twilight Princess is a Wii title is stupid as hell, but making a PS2 and PS3 version of FF12 and claiming it as a PS3 game is even more idiotic.

By the way, EA and Microsoft aren't getting along so great as you think, and for the same reason Unreal Tournament 2k7 may not have the ability to install mods on the 360 version.

Microsoft controls Live, they prefer to run all the online aspects.

EA Sports likes to discontinue online service for their games when they get a new version out. As in, they release NBA 2006, they discontinue 2005's online service, making customers buy a new version if they want to use the online feature. Pretty much an asshole move to make, but not something you can do when Microsoft is running your online service. Think they're happy about that?

They appear drastically different but you can feel the gamecube controller in the palms of your hands when you're holding the Wii-mote playing Zelda. All they did was set it to recognize several movements and assign them to be like pressing the A or B button. This is why they aren't congruent movements to the sword slash. Like... let's examine 2 moves.

Forward poke and spinning slash.

If memory serves, to poke forward, I hold down the Z button and slash overhand with the remote.

Because say... for sake of argument... you press the Z and A button on the gamecube controller to forward poke.

Or you shake the nunchuck to spin slash. Maybe... you press B on the gamecube version?

They didn't add any buttons, they just ported the damn game, and set "overhand slash" to = "A button" and "shake controller" to = "B button."

Which is my beef, cause I was acutely aware when playing Wii-Zelda that I wasn't shaking the nunchuck to spin the sword, I was shaking the nunchuck to press the B button. Which is why I would rather have just pressed the B.

I'm sure you get used to the new control, but what's the point? They could have taken a gamecube controller, turned it upside down and you'd get used to it after a few hours of playing. Where's the gain? Why change the controller if it doesn't add actual functionality.

I stopped reading after this point. Halo 3 wouldn't be a PS3 exclusive or even on the PS3 because Microsoft has bungy by the twig and berries to insure Halo never sees a shred of development evidence on any non-microsoft system. For the hell of it I will read your post of retardation because you think I don't read your posts.

You started defending PS3 with FFXII because of backward compatibility saying because it is for PS2 exclusivly it is exclusivly for PS3 because the disc is playable on a PS3. My point was never make a PS2 version only PS3 version. That means there would never be a box for FFXII that says Playstation 2, but instead Playstation 3. You can't find any other reason to defend PS3? I counter pointed that only people like you would be dumb enough to buy the re-release of FFXII for PS3 already having bought it for PS2 because it can be inferred from your vast knowledge of the GCN version of LoZ:TP you have two copies of LoZ:TP for two different systems. So I could easily make the connection of you buying two versions of FFXII for PS2 and PS3. FFXIII comes out in a year supposedly. Why would square abruptly end what wins?

If Sony didn't own Square why did Square leave Nintendo when Sony did? Sounds like Sony and Square walk hand in hand. Why wouldn't SE make another game into the game franchise that made Squaresoft into the company it was then turn into Square Enix still running on the steam of the FF series? Remember Sony developed the SNES and left. When Sony left Square left and became Sony exclusive until Crystal Chronicles and until recenetly FFXI for 360. Square is just making ports to Nintendo of games they already made for Nintendo. Final Fantasy 7+ (excluding XI) is Sony exclusive isn't it? Nintendo got spin offs of the originals. 360 hasn't seen anything, but XI. Is it possible that 360 could get FFXIII? Yes will it happen? Most likely not if GCN or Wii didn't get FFXII.

Well, you can use the same logic to apply that a console controller is the same thing as an arcade steering wheel. Just instead of the gas pedal, you press A, instead of a break pedal, you press B. Instead of turning a wheel, you move an analog stick.

Sony doesn't own Square. They simply drew them towards their consoles because of the CD, and DVD formats. Since Nintendo ditched archaic cartridges, Square-Enix has begun making games for them again. Currently, Square-Enix has more Nintendo console/handheld games in production than it does for Microsoft and Sony.

Shit, Dragon Quest IX, a main franchise title, is being made for the DS. The recent Mana title, and another one in the works, aren't ports either. FFXII: Revenant Wings is somewhat of a sequel to FFXII for the DS, and another Tactics game(Not a remake with bonuses like PSP.) Theres a new Crystal Chronicles being made for the Wii and the DS(seperate games, nothing to do with eachother besides brand) being made. Sony, in the near future, are getting another Mana title, and FF13 Variants(if you count that as "near.") Microsoft, I have no clue what they're getting. Unless you count Mistwalker as part of Square-Enix, even though they aren't.

Is that true though? When you are pressing left or right to steer with a controller then you turn left and right at only 1 possible angle. When you play with a steering wheel you can choose how sharp the turn is, which, if you're playing a driving game, is extremely important. This is why the wheels have lists of games that support them, because they aren't just regular controllers in a different form.

And Romper, just because I can compare Windwaker controls to Twilight Princess(wii) controls doesn't mean I bought both versions of the game. It means I have the power of deduction that Windwaker(GC) is going to play like TP(GC). I knew they were identical ports before they came out and I had been planning to upgrade to Wii once I heard it was backwards compatible with gamecube and had smash bros coming.

You see, I had 250 bucks I could spend on it, and I decided, since I'll get it for Smash bros eventually, why not get it now? You know... like... the same reason I got PS3?

360 is the only system that's worth it's price now, because it's the only system that's been out 16 months. 4 months after 360 launch, not worth its price tag. See a pattern here? Am I getting through your thick skull? Understand the concept of an investment?

So you're arguing it's the same for the Wii and the Gamecube, but different in regards to the Wheel and a normal Controller? You can perform the same functions with both, so why is that any different than assuming the Wii and Gamecube controllers are essentially the same?

Any console racing game that doesn't have a variable steering is either completely shitty, or made on something that doesn't have an analog stick. Which really makes your difference between Wheels and Controllers moot.

You can't have it both ways. They're either the same, or different.

Skaw the only reason why Square has more games produced for Nintendo at this point is because of all the reports to GBA/DS. Also Crystal Chronicles and FFTA (different story line than the PSX one). Hold on a sec, you're right, I was thinking in my head the last car game I've played, Twisted Metal 2, which doesn't use the a stick to steer, it uses buttons.

Yes, the wheel gives you nothing functionally you couldn't gain from using a wheel except a few shortcuts, like the shift stick going right to the gear you prefer instead of having to go up and down 1 at a time. Debatable you can get more precision out of a wheel than the stick will allow you but I won't argue that. Wheels don't give you more functionality, nor do arcade pads, just make it easier to perform precision movements that are still possible to perform without them.

So to jump ahead, your point is that the wheel makes driving games more fun because it will immerse you into the game more by allowing you to control the car like you would if you were actually playing. Your follow-up point is that Zelda: TP for Wii does the same thing by letting you move your hand like link moves his hand in the game, allowing you to immerse into the game more, no?

You're not understanding the point. Square isn't Sony, that's the point. It's not their job to sell PS3s, only their job to sell games. Why would they make FF12 an exclusive to sell more PS3s? They'll sell less FF12s in the process, a LOT less FF12s. The reason FF13 is a PS3 exclusive is because it's a game that the PS2 won't be able to handle.

Hence... a real next gen game, worth buying a PS3 for.

What would you rather have(from an enjoyment perspective,) a wheel or a controller for a racing game, knowing that they'll perform equally as well?

Apply that choice to Twilight Princess.

Would you rather have(from an enjoyment perspective,) the GameCube Controller, or the Wii Remote, knowing they perform exactly the same?

And a third question: Would you rather have had Nintendo not even make an effort to support the Wii version with functionality from the remote, or just have them say "Fuck you guys, use your Gamecube Controllers lols" and basically have absolutely zero reason for owning the Wii version?

Thats what I'm trying to get at. Personally, I'd rather play a racing game with a wheel, knowing full well theres no advantage to it. I'd rather play a game where the main character uses a sword, with something that would make me seem like I'm using a sword as well, knowing full well that I'm not really performing the same actions that get shown.

Now, just to tell you how it really is, I don't own a Wii(I know I've said this before.) Despite probably finding more enjoyment from the Wii Version, I'd rather own the Gamecube version. Since I already own one of those, and ontop of being poor and spend $50 instead of $270 or so, would rather have my memories of what Hyrule resembled not go Total Recall on me. But if I was to get a Wii, it wouldn't strictly be for Zelda. I'd pick up Warioware, Excite Truck, and Trauma Center. The only thing is, while I'd like these titles, they aren't particularly high up on my priority list. Which is why I do not own one yet. Come June, the decision will change.

Alright, to answer your questions.

Play with a wheel or controller?

I'd rather play with a wheel assuming that the wheel's movement's replicated the car's movements. I've been considering getting a 300 dollar logitech wheel for the very purpose of that.

Would I rather have a gamecube controller or wii remote?

I find the old gamecube controls with Windwaker better than the Wii controls for Twilight princess, so there's your answer I guess. I'd have prefered the Wii controls if, even without giving additional function, they better replicated my hand movements. As in, instead of having to hold down Z and overhand swing, I can poke the remote forward to poke forward. The problem is they didn't actually make an effort to support the Wii version, and didn't actually give a reason. They made overhand slash the A button and shaking the nunchuck the B button.

How much effort could it really have taken to alter the control scheme to shortcut a forward jab to be Z and A? It'd be like having a driving wheel but making you turn right to accelerate and put your foot on the accelerator to turn left. It's a good game with a shitty port. People focus on how much they like the game and forget how bad the wii controls are and how easily they could have been fixed up.

So don't worry, be happy with your gamecube version. You really aren't missing anything.

Let's keep this sensible. If you were to pay $300 for the motion sensing on the Wii, it would be better replicated. A $30 racing wheel vs. a $30 control pad. Which would you rather use?

Remember, you know they'll yield the same gameplay results, but which would you find more enjoyable?

Ok I stand corrected on the FFT storylines. I thought they were different. I hadn't played FFT for a while and don't have a copy anymore. As for the in production now that would make sense even now seeing as though most of the ports are for Nintendo handhelds seeing as though Nintendo dominates that market.
