PS3 is hurting!

Headset comes with live, not with xbox, and my cell phone's headset works perfectly with my PS3. And that cable can be purchased for 8 dollars.

Out of curiosity, did you have to go out and buy regular low def cables to plug into your TV?
The headset comes packed in with the premium system and 1 free month of live for 3 gamertags on the system, which they do not promote that one month because i didnt know about it till i only chose silver at first.

and you do not have to buy low def plugs because the 360's cable comes with both built in.

What big 3rd party games they have at launch? Biggest thing I saw was a CoD3 port from the PS2. No doubt in a year or so we'll get some real games though.
There was Madden, Pangya, Call of Duty had a separate build, not a straight port with wii controls tacked on; super monkey ball, Marvel Ultimate Alliance(also built for Wii), Rayman Raving Rabids, Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam,etc. The only first party games at launch were Wii sports and Zelda, everything else was third party.

PS3's online system is crap. It's been giving me "an error resolving the name with the server" message since monday. I don't know how to fix that one and I can't log on FFXI or PSstore...

That kind of thing doesn't happen often/ever on the 360. Xbox LIVE you can always rely on, because at least you know it will be up.

A) Check for an update, i downloaded the new one on wednsday.

B) I've not had any problems connecting with it yet.

I had a problem once for a couple days connecting to PSN a few weeks back. Maybe 2 days total since launch I had an issue. I hear they're doing server boosts for their March "2nd launch," so it's possible the problems are related to them increasing new hardware to make the connectivity better overall.

On a side note: With Resistance, Fight Night and NHL... never had bad lag or anything ever when playing online, so I can't imagine Live being much better for actual online gaming.

I'd comment further about the Wii launch lineup but I'm heading out now so let's just agree to disagree. I think the launch titles lacked because they were holding back financially, you think great gameplay is all that matters even if the games are too short and could be run on a super nintendo... agree to disagree.

You think great gameplay comes with the most advanced processor, I think there's more to games than 400 shades of brown and as much bloom lighting as the cell can create, agree to disagree

You guys and your brand loyalty crack me up!

I have a Wii and a 360. I like them both for different reasons. At the present time, I have no need of a PS3 at the present time, as it can't do anything that the 360 can't do. As for the price, add an optional HD-DVD onto the 360 and it's the same price as the PS3.

For the record, I believe that PS3 and Blu-ray will eventually win this round of the format wars.

Blu-Ray is already setup to replace DVD. While i doubt the switchover will be as fast as VHS->DVD was, it doesn't look like HD-DVD is going to pull ahead. A number of retailers have already stated that they will carry Blu-Ray over HD-DVD.

I'm sorry, your logic still kinda sucks.

I don't see how you could actually mean that then spill all of the garbage you did, to me not others (I wont speak for them) quotes, to follow. You don't buy a fuckin' console to play movies and if you do, well... that's just retarded and you're a whole 'nother breed of stupid in the world considering prices and technology. Talk games and why people buy fuckin' consoles to begin with or don't talk at all. A system playing HD-DVD or a system that plays Blu-Ray doesn't mean a thing to me nor the hundreds of millions out there who PLAY GAMES. I'm one of those people that actually own a DVD player that seems to work perfectly for HD movies so maybe I don't understand your love for only having the excuse of MOVIES and DISC FORMAT to back up why you're so gee golly "logically" correct and no one else is.

Buying Add-ons for the 360 like a HD-DVD player, which is stupid, and paying for Live is optional therfore not included in my argument. You do not need either to enjoy the system or the many of titles it has. Using optional add-ons to make a price justification to yourself and try to argue it to others is not a smart approach at all. You can bullshit yourself but not me, I'm not havin' it.

There is no doubt that BlueRay is better. But it's not up to Sony or retailers which format will win. Consumers don't want to buy their DVDs again with marginally better quality. I also don't doubt that PS3 will be big in a years time. March has a decent list of games coming out for the PS3, but the funny thing is that the PS2 has a bigger title coming out for it than PS3 will have for a long time. When a game comes out that will be worth it, I will have no problem buying a PS3. It really is worth the money. I just don't plan on shelling out for BlueRay movies.

You do know that the quality of the format a disc is produced on does directly affect the games? BlueRay has a much higher potential for better graphics, longer games, or overall better gameplay than a HD-DVD could ever provide. (I say potential because it still is up to the developed to make something good.) BlueRay defintely is a reason to buy a console, and not just for movies.

the problem is.. like i said.. is 'how long' will it take for the developers to unleash that potential... hopefully it's before sony decides to make another system.

Very few games actually used up a full DVD and no games used a full dual-layered DVD. There is no real need for 25-50 gigs of storage when your games don't even use 9. And as skaw said, you could always just release a second game. It'll be years, if ever(and I doubt it'll ever happen), that any game at all would use up a full blu-ray's worth of storage.

White Knight looks to do just that, if its as visualy stunning as the trailers lead it to believe.

the main PS3 flaw is that nost people cannot support what the PS3 needs to really shine. I.E. HDMI TV, 5-7.1 Sound.

hmmmm... gotta survey... everyone who sees this..

List your favorite games or games you're looking forward to play on the last-gen and/or next-gen systems in the following categories...

First Person Shooter
Sports Simulations (includes racing)
RPG
Multiplayer (online)
Multiplayer (not online)
Anything that doesn't fit in the above categories

Also if you could.. list what system the game(s) is/are for... Thank You ^^

First Person Shooter: Halo 3
Sports Simulations: Dont like sports
RPG: Lost odyssey
Multiplayer(online): Marvel online
Multiplayer(offline): dont really have one
besides that, Assasins creed, Guitar hero 2(360 version)Bioshock, FF13, Kane and lynch: Dead men, The darkness, Alan Wake, Blue Dragon, God of war 2, Halo Wars, Shadow Run, TNMT, and i would say GRAW 2 but...ill be playing the full version in about an hour so...i guess i cant say im looking forward as i much as i am with the others

look at it like this, halo is loved by the masses, it was one of the few games that made video games more acceptable to non-gamers.
sports games are the second part to the first answer.
MMO, WoW is easy, it's so easy it makes the most casual players feel like hardcore gamers. as the majority of the mmo players of any game in the world play this, this is the only one mentionable in this post.
Offline RPG: 4th but it really encompasses most serious gamers.
other, a lot like rpg. lotta good games like strats ect, lotta cultists <_<

looking forward to?
Shooter: none
sports games: absolutely noe, if i wanted to play a sport i'd fucking go play the damn sport. only losers and fat people play sports games, i'm sorry.
MMO... none, really. nothing really good is coming.
offline RPG. i don't actually see a lot in the future. gaming is really going downhill, in fact, it's going to the nongamers who think they're gamers. that is all.
other: none really.

overall, very pessimistic with the up and comings for all systems.

Shooter: Killzone2
I liked the first one despite some of its flaws. I hope the second one fixed those poblems in addition to adding online.
Sports: Gran Turismo 5
RPG: FFXIII (and Versus XIII) KH3
Multiplayer (online): Killzone 2
Multiplayer (offline) Tekken 6
Other: Armored Core 4

Huxley - 360/pc

Most likely anything madden. - Multi

Haven't much looked in to it lately. KH3 most likely. Need to look around some. - I presume KH3 is going to be playstation.

Marvel Online / Huxley. (Would say DC online but ... lolSOE psssh) - PC

Kinda rough call on this one, seeing as how the wife and kids dig it Mario party 52 or whatever it's up to now. <3 Mario titles. - Wii

I'm with strid's comments earlier. For my money a 360 and a Wii are going to win out over a ps3 for the same price. Especially seeing as how i don't have the chunk of bread it takes to make the PS3 shine and in all honesty i grew out of most of the playstation onry titles a while ago.
