PS3 is hurting!

Wow, take away the only different thing between the consoles and the wii games play just like the PS3/360 games? What a shock! No shit most of the ratings were about the controller, but the games on the Wii were scoring higher than their graphically better counter-parts on PS3, because of the better controls on the Wii. Yeah, it'd be awesome to have PS3 graphics with the Wiimote, but the wiimote is much more immersive. Microsoft and Sony are already at the edge of the uncanny valley, within a year they'll be knee deep in it.

A games rating shouldn't be based on the controller, it should be based on its merit as a good game.

In a year when the newness of the remote is done, you'll see similar games have much lower ratings because the remote won't be a factor in how the game is scored.

Games should be based on game play. Like Meeze said, the only reason they got higher rateings are from the controller, which is COMPLETE bull. Take away the controller you have a Gamecube

I'd certainly hope it will. More games need to be rated by control intuitiveness as well. A lot of games get released with a poor control scheme, and no one cares to rate games based on it enough. It's just usually the holy 2, Sound and Visual, with some throw-away categories that are largely opinion.

I am not going to down your personal opinion. Most people hated Kingdom Hearts (people the age of 16-older) they see donald and goofy and say, fuck that kiddie shit i wanna kill some shit. Which launch games did you play.
If they said that, they never played the game; those are called retards and their opinions are worthless. They're also the kind of idiots who think a game needs an M rating to be any good, so they're not worth listening to.

Of the launch games, I played Madden, Twilight Princess, Call of Duty, Elebits, Pangya, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Rayman Raving Rabids, Excite Truck, and Wii Sports. Elebits was the only one that I didn't enjoy, because the levels were so repetitive.

The problem here is that graphics are hitting a plateau. Yes, there's a difference between component and composite. And there's a difference between component and HDMI. But is going from 720p/i to 1080p/i really worth the extra $200 in game console and $500+ in TV to see the difference?

From the NES generation to the SNES generation we went from under 200 colors to a few thousand. The next generation moved from 2D to 3D. The generation past that, 3D to prettier 3D. This generation on the 360/PS3 side is a move from prettier 3D to... prettier 3D. To a lot of people that's a lateral move. Nintendo chose the end-around and is moving from dual analog to motion-sensitive. Are people willing to put up with component graphics to play the games differently as opposed to getting more realistic brown? So far the answer is yes.

Are you retarded? The ONLY real difference between the PS3/360 and the Wii versions is how they control; therefore the controls are the ONLY thing that should effect the difference in the scores. Thinking anything else is asinine. Controls matter, when the only difference is how you control the game, the system with the best controls will get a better score.

Twilgih Princess- I personally thoughth the GC version was better. Much easier to control
Madden- fun for a little, then became the same thing over and over(like all sports game no matter on what system)
Rayman- amazing! love this shit, i mean throwing cows <3
Excite Truck- good for a little then repeditive
Wii Sports- Played into the ground

And they aren't?
emot-psyduck.gif

A yugo is an economy piece of shit that only scrubs who can't afford anything else buy, accords are full sized sedans built for quality and comfort.

They are both cars, but their function isn't the same.

Composite wires with nickel plating can be upgraded with composite wires with gold plating. A yugo can be upgraded by going with an Echo.

HD is a whole different being from composite.

You pick and choose what hook up you want, and settling for the worst connection available for your system makes your already weak graphics even worse.

If you are going to watch the minor leagues, you might as well watch triple-A instead of single-A. It's almost the majors, where the big boys play.

What's wrong skaw, not enough allowance to pick up a plasma yet?

And why should the system with better video and sound quality not get the better?

A car is used to get around. Their function is the same. Jesus, you're a dumbfuck.

Or theres really no reason to own one yet. I've played on them. Yes, it looks better. But it doesn't play better. If you think it does, it's all in your head. Wether or not it plays great, and is fun or not, is all I'm concerned about.

Quite a few of the launch/slightly post launch games (FarCry, those games that came with the pack-in wheel, Monster something and GT something and that fishing game) have had reviews that say "Not even the remote can forgive graphics this bad" or the like.

But EVERY GODDAMN LAUNCH IS THIS WAY. The only good launch I can remember was the N64 and that's because like 3 games launched with it. PS3 and 360 launches both had their stinkers and their overrated games that got there because they looked better than the alternatives.

Because controls have a lot more to do with the quality of gameplay than graphics/sound? Unless there major problems with them, so that you can't see/hear what you're doing, the controls are significantly more important. Plus, the graphics on the Wii verson were not bad at all, they just weren't in as high def as the PS3.

There aren't that many 1080p plasmas out atm. I'm waiting a bit to pick one up, but the difference is there. Blu-ray/HD DVD on 1080p is amazing, and in the future games with that kind of definition is going to be great.

ATM PS3 doesn't have the games I want, so no PS3 will stay in possession until they do.

I already said they were both cars dipshit. One is an economy car, one is a full size sedan. That is the difference. Apples and oranges. You won't ever see a car magazine comparing a BMW to an echo, just like the comparison between HDMI and composite is retarded.

One is for someone who is just good enough (like lifelong mnks with no BB) and the other is for people who want better shit.

I remember you being on this side of the argument comparing foragers to amemet+1, maybe you can only afford the best in a video game.

Seeing more in a FPS makes all the difference, and if you don't believe that then its no wonder you suck nintendos bubble gum game making nuts.

I don't own a plasma right now for the same reason I don't own a PS3. A plasma will give me better picture quality than my 4 year old component TV. And a PS3 will give me better graphics than my 360 and my Wii. But I can't justify paying $1500 for a plasma over my 4-year old $200 component any more than I can justify $600 for a PS3 over what I have now. The cost/benefit ratio isn't there yet. In 2-3 years when that $1500 plasma is $500 and a PS3 is $450 or so? Maybe.

No, it's comparing apples to apples, but different types of apples like Red Delicious and Fuji Apples.

Oh noez, I'm so hurts. You insulted my in-game practices which has no merit here in the real life. I use my money for practicality. Amemet +1 to Forager's has a practical increase.

I own a 2000 Mustang. Sure, not the greatest thing in the world, but far from the worse. It drives well, looks decent. It gets me from home, to work, to the grocery store, to commercial retailers.. Thats really all I give a shit about.

I guess when you grow up, mature, and break away from mommies teet, you realize whats more important.

Seeing more in a FPS makes all the difference, and if you don't believe that then its no wonder you suck nintendos bubble gum game making nuts.

The thing is, you're not getting an increase in FPS by changing to a better display. Do you even know what "FPS" stands for? Even if you did, consoles are hardcapped at a frame rate of 60 frames per second(FPS for morons like Meeze.) No matter what you're using to look at what they're processing. If anything, changing to a display that requires more hardware output causes a decrease in frame rate. Since the machine ends up working harder. It's not the case with consoles because they're designed around the 60 FPS cap, even if some games could cause the machine to go higher. If any thing is dipping lower, it's taxing the machine's processor, memory, and video output. Not your display.

Maybe you should quit, and come back when you have a better grasp on terms like "functionality," and "innovation."

This is a really good point. Unless you already have an HD setup, and over 90% of people do not, a PS3 is not much better than a Wii graphically(and therefore not better period). Most people aren't going to drop a few thousand dollars on top of the PS3's $600 all at once. In a few years when HD TV's get cheaper, more people would be likely to buy HD players, but for now it's not worth it.

Why are you acting like the Wii's graphics are indecipherable? The graphics are still quite good, just the PS3's a crisper. You can still see everything quite clearly, if not you need glasses because you're almost blind.

This was in reference to HD cables to composite.

Edit: don't know what "seeing" was doing there....
