PS3 is hurting!

Roughly $35 dollars, but that's besides the point.

Zelda and Warioware are both million sellers.

Of course Wii has 6.25mill install base against PS3' 2.8 mill.

Now you can say the games are what drives the system's sales, not the systems driving the game's sales at this point... but I feel like with a 600 dollar system Resistance has a lot more on its shoulders.

lol, right, online prices, kay.

How bout this then. Wii Sports + Wii Play = $50 if you go by $40 and $10 respectively. They still both sold over a million.

So Wii has four million sellers before PS3 had one?

Cool beans. lol

Wii has a 3 million seller, but now we're talking about selling Zelda to nintendo owners. Let's see who gets the first 3rd party game to sell a million, traditionally 3rd party has done poorly since Nintendo first party sells so spectacular to the base. And amazon lists the actual price, it's above, the price you can buy it for is listed under.

See, look at Resistance, you save a whole 17 cents!

By the way Decidence, it was before. The site now shows 2.8 million for PS3. Surprised actually they aren't hitting the 3 million mark, you'd figure Motorstorm and Oblivian(even as a port) would move some more stateside but I guess they mostly just sold to people with PS3 already.

Oh my god does Resistance blow...

Back in my days of loving the PS3 I thought Resistance was going to be absolutely awesome.. Until I played it. I had hopes of playing a FPS that wasn't all about running-and-gunning and had an awesome storyline. The game sucks and most people I converse with in everyday life agree but its the only FPS game on PS3, that isn't ultimate shit. I'm extremely disappointed in the PS3 and I would have to say the only real reason in buying one right now is for a cheap blu-ray player.

The PS3 may be cool in 1 year when the games stop sucking. But at this day and age, it's near worthless.

So what you're saying is there's a console with a 6.25 million install base that is still struggling to meet demand and a console with a 2.8 million install base that has consoles sitting on shelves in two of its three major markets and (even if the 600k sold is true, which I'm waiting on more info for) didn't generate enough interest to sell out the EU launch even with 30 games available at launch, one of the biggest ad campaigns in videogame history and dealers offering free games/price cuts/HDTV bribery backing it.

EU will likely go the same way as Japan and the US. Everyone who wanted one at launch got one and the months following will flatline with small bumps when big releases trickle out. Except in the Euro case where you have consoles sitting on shelves from day 1 instead of sellouts. They had a million to sell because they launched 4 months later than originally promised, during which time nobody else outside of Europe was buying the system.

I dont count the Wii. Its spreading with the same speed and insanity as the Orly owl, and will likely go the same way.

The Wii is doing insane, it's in its own little universe. Fortunately games systems, like every other industry on this planet except for operating systems has room for multiple companies... especially if they're going after a different target demographic and one is a cheap console that's the PS/360 demographic are likely to pick up as an additional console.

I knew that 600k units sold in England sounded like bullshit, glad to see I was right. Considering how all of Europe got 1 million units and that would mean that every PS3 in england sold out, it didn't sound believable at all. It did well, best selling console ever is impressive, but it's a far cry from numbers others are saying.

Wow, the PSP outsold it for it's launch weekend. Thats just all kinds of lol right there.

Uh everywhere I read it's said 600k for all of Europe, not England, idk who said England sold 600k.

Ah, that might be it.

The PSP also outside Xbox 360, Xbox, Wii,Gamecube... oh yeah... everything! PSP was the #1 in history. Of course enjoy spinning how being #2 to your own handheld system is bad. Nintendo seems to be doing pretty well like that.

True, but SSBB is coming out and the polls i've seen for "Most anticipated game of 2007" It has won, even beating halo 3 and FFXIII. So that will be a major console shifter.

After that though you may be right, i think it will basically come down to how creative they can be with the Wiimote. I mean if they can keep thinking up new fun things to do with it then i figure they are pretty golden, because while it might not be so great for 3rd party games if they can produce new 1st party ones that might cover them.

Plus with some work on using wiimote as FPS i imagine they could get alot of interest in that area. Not to mention they are the most attractive console atm for 3rd party developers with them having so many consoles sold and their games being cheaper to produce because of the lower spec for the Wii.

Guess we will see.

Every major third party developer is already making games for the wii, so I highly doubt that there will be problems with game library on the wii. As the sales keep growing, the developers are going to keep making more games for the wii, so saying it'll just fizzle out and disappear is really hard to believe.

I'm sure many third parties will go after the wii market, just a question of how well they'll do competing head to head against Nintendo's own development studios. Having first party games that cater extremely well to the system's target demographic make it hard for outside developers to compete. This is not to say I think Wii is going to flop, rather... it does have a ceiling. Super Smash bros is going to win out the Nintendo fans who are disappointed with the Wii's craptastic lineup, like myself. Metroid is going to help too... people excited about Mario Galaxy and Paper Mario are already sold on the Wii and have one/trying to find one. I'm sure Wii is going to be making fistfuls of cash although I don't see it as becoming the market leader... rather I see it as making everyone who bought it already satisfied with the exact titles they assumed they'd get but nothing that's going to shock or amaze anyone.

They won't pass xbox 360's market share unless there is some sort of lawsuit over the 360 fail rate and it's shown to be really bad and consumer confidence is lost. Besides that, I don't see them keeping their momentum to catch up.

I do see them however having the highest attach-rate of any console this gen by a landslide, which coupled by the fact that from the start they've been selling their system at a gain and their obscenely overpriced nostalgia downloads... they'll make the most money by far this gen, even if they aren't the leader.

Well, according to him they're overpriced because you can just download a rom; apparently if it's not legally free it's a waste of money.
