PSN Releases

that's why the released 60gb PS3s are still the best XD which is funny. They are fully backward compatible :P

I'm assuming it wasn't a choice between one or the other, rather that the PS3 can run PS1 games entirely through software emulation while PS2 requires some hardware. Since they were stripping it down the lower the price to make a $400 model, should they disable PS1 BC to not get insulted on random message boards?

To bad you can only buy the 40 gig model now unless you get it used.

ya that's true :| you could prolly get a 60gb on Ebay XD

I toyed with tracking down a 60 GB model, but then realized I'd be paying more than the price I originally said was proof that Sony was out of their fucking minds.

I'm probably bite the bullet and pick up the MGS4 bundle when it hits. If Uncle Sam wants to give me money to stimulate the economy, who am I to question the wisdom?

I thought that the 20GB was BC too?

is it? If so should just get that and replace the HD :P err if they still sell it... do they?

The only model being sold for the last month has been the 40 gig model. The 20 gig also didn't have a bunch of features that the 60 gig had.

Victory for the 60's *fistpump*

And yeah, I think the 40's can play PS1 games, due to it being much much simpler to emulate than the PS2 games are.

I dunno though, my 60 had 99% BC out of the box, so sux to not be me.

The only major thing the 20GB lacked that the 60 has is wifi. Besides that, all it's missing out on is some ports for memory sticks and compact flash drives, 40GB of HDD space, and silver trim.

But I'm a member of Team 60, so I've pretty much got the best of everything, including hardware BC.

Team 60... UNITE! :D

We got a used 20GB in my store that i have *really* been thinking about buying over the MGS4 80GB bundle. Especially if all it is missing is WiFi? I wouldn't be bringing it online anyway. Most online games i play are Multiplat and they would go on my xbox regardless.

I honestly don't see how things can take up more than 20GB of memory anyway.

Are there any other major differences i should know about?

your HD can fill fast :P hehe. And you can still get online with the one without wifi, just use the ethernet cord :P

With what? I wouldn't care enough about half a second of load times to download any games straight to the HD. I usually don't keep many demos around. Anything else that i'm forgetting, or i don't know the PS3 has that would fill up a HD fast?

hmm well then I guess I was assuming you'd be like me :P putting movies/music on your PS3 (then again, I haven't done what most do which is connect the PS3 to the PC XD)

How does one connect his Ps3 to his PC? <_<

Any games with updates, like CoD4, or Resistance, will suck up about half a gig each. DMC has the required 2GB install, as do a couple other games.

Also, the 80GB has rather high BC as well, so the MGS pack would be pretty much just as good.
