Taurothar said:New site looking a little more tempting now, eh Sabs? Haha. Pup, if you read this, please, pass the torch on, if not to me, then to others like me. I have a job in a library and I do practically nothing there. I spend 6 hours a day practically surfing the net. Easily spend 2-3 hours reading posts on this site. If I was admin of this, or another site, I'm sure a lot of the spam/trolls/idiots would be taken care of daily. Vote Taurothar for president, and all of your wildest dreams will come true.
Taurothar I appreciate what you're trying to do allthough I don't necessarily agree with the method, it's nice to see one of you actually taking an active role in trying to fix this community. The sad thing is I can count the number of members that have done this on one hand. Remember my quest to rid the board of oversized avatars/sigs? Do you know how many people tried to help me with it? 1, that's right - 1 out of 3331 members. And I thank Jender so much for at least trying. This is the case with most other issues on the board also.
We all know we're having troll issues so what do people do? Keep bumping their topics to the top of the flameboard instead of letting them get pushed down by the more intelligent posts that the flameboard was made for. If a troll posts in an appropriate topic someone quotes it and the thread de-rails for the next 14 pages.
I see asiamise taking an active effort to moderate herself and others dispite the fact she doesn't actually run the board, I see some friends trying to orchestrate things with me from the back, Taurothar trying to fix the community by moving it, I see the mods taking care of their section but I don't see the other 3,000 of you doing anything. You stand there and wait for someone else to fix it for you, rather than trying to fix it yourself or notifying someone who can fix it. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.
