Announcement QCDN Guidelines

These aren't new rules though. Everything on there has been punished for in the past. For someone who has been here the entire time, bringing things against them now without anything at all changing, or any new situation, it seems kinda weird.

These rules, whether they have been posted officially or not, have really been part of QCDN's rules for a very long time. Now they're just spelling it out completely for everyone.

you do realize that by adding more and more rules people will try to figure a way around them and you will only have to keep adding new ones.

The answer to this is:

Which is also why we made so many remarks about how, just because it isn't in the rules doesn't make it okay to do. We've only added the most popular ones that seem to cause the most trouble for people.

The respect guideline is too vague and should be removed. The other rules seem fine though.

Personally, I interpret it this way:

Respect your fellow posters as if they were 400-lbs of muscle and able to punch you in the face.

Rule #1: Respect your fellow posters as if they were 400-lbs of muscle and able to punch you in the face.
Rule #2: Respect your admin staff as if they were bouncers, and able to kick you out of the bar.
Rule #3: If there are any questions, refer to Rule 1, then Rule 2.

I'll change it to this then?

I think you should.

Sounds good to me.

Also, "Including but not limited to:".
This languange was frequently inserted so there is no reason to redo the rules. Even then, it doesn't matter. If all people do is try to find a loophole, and bitch and complain, that's when the mods will exercise their discretion and end the situation. It's not discretion that is out to get people, but it is discretion that calls it like it sees it, and makes decisions as a group, after discussion.

It doesn't work that way though, not here. There is a certain group of people to appease and those not to appease, or to appease but to a lesser extent. With that said, one can't do one without dabbin' in the other, which a recent incident has proven. Though it was proven well before hand in an incident involvin' myself.

if there is a rule that says you have to respect the admin because they can ban you, youre probably doing it wrong.

Everything the modmins do is wrong, though, so why would that be any different?

It's also a fact that you can't please everyone. For almost every user of this site, these rules (which aren't even new, really) won't affect them. There's only a small group of people that even feel as if they are suppressed or something. And those folks that can't manage to LISTEN when spoken to, will likely continue to have problems. That's just the way it is.

That's funny. When you keep posting stuff like this. Really.
Anyway, no you don't have to respect anyone here. Nobody cares what your personal beliefs are. However, you do have to BE RESPECTFUL of every user of this site.

In other words, where you might not naturally get along and respect everyone, just as in the real world, you must at least be respectful of other people.

Of course there are gary areas, but that's what the discretion and staff pow-wows are for. As I said above, most users won't remotely be affected by the rules, but for those that are concerned somehow, your best bet is to familiarize yourself with the rules and do your best to avoid breaking them...And dare I say, you may also want to do your best to avoid the gray areas if you are the type that is concerned about the rules.

We've had Pita Inn a few times...

But yeah, any time we don't see eye to eye, that's the first thing you say.

when have we not seen eye to eye? thats the first time ive said it lol

Oh dear, lovers quarrel.

Falsey you have a point. More specifically though, it's sad that we feel it necessary to state that everyone should treat ANYONE with respect. Just Sad.

The problem is, and I guess the reason it's needed is because there will always be someone to argue 'but where does it SAY THAT?'. So it makes it necessary, to not have to repeat one's self every month or so. However the reiteration happens in other respects usually.

This isn't Employment & Labour Standards Act ffs. It's QCDN Rules and Guidelines. Pretty straight forward imo.

Don't be a fuckwad

Try using logic when participating in a sensitive subject (guilty as charged ^^)

Don't attack people unwarranted, and if warranted do so in the allocated forum.

Most of all avoid being a prick and you should be alright.

I really do feel bad for the mods at times. Especially when this shit surfaces. It's the same over and over. May as well write it ALL out to avoid all the little tit suckling that goes on here from time to time. By that I just mean stop all the damn crying.

Really. Most of us are adults, and if we act as such we should be able to avoid getting our wrists slapped from potentially younger interweb peoples. sheesh

It is sad. What's worse, though, is the Catch-22 of "we'll bitch because the rules are clear", versus "the rules are too restrictive, so we'll bitch anyway".

(the above wasn't aimed at Falsey, or anyone in particular, my apologies if it seems like it is)

At least 2nd that I remember.
But hey, who gives a shit?

i do. it seems you've had a long standing problem with me, one that i have never heard of. i've actually not spoken out in prior events in respect for you and knowing that you're a mod. so i'm pretty confused here.

i remember asking you in/jaz in game if you guys want to go out, but i have never called you out on anything like you mention.
