Question about migrating.

i've heard from different sources... 1 source saying that if you apply, you will automatically migrate when the deadline arrives. and the 2nd source says that you can apply, but you will not know if you will be selected or not. my dilemma really lies in the fact that if my brother and i apply, and only 1 of us is selected, i'd be very disappointed. please help. thank you in advance.

There is no selection. If you apply to migrate, that's it.

The "whether or not" here is if they will do migration at all. The Square Enix material says:

-Details regarding whether or not the emigration will take place, the date and time of emigration, the number of new Worlds created, and details about the configuration of new Worlds will be based on the outcome of the recruitment. There will be an announcement at a later time.

-3 new Worlds are scheduled to be created. In the event that applicants are divided among multiple Worlds, all applicants from a single World will be moved into the same new World.

-In the event that the number of players who wish to emigrate to the new World does not fill up one whole World, the World shift will be postponed.

If you sign up, and if they do server migration, everyone who signed up will be transferred.
 
so if 3 new worlds are created, and if there are enough ppl that do apply to fill in all 3 worlds, can we choose which world to go or have some sorta "special instructions/requests".. like for example "may my brother and i be transferred to the same world?"
