Question for other veteran DRKs.

Maybe I'm a dreamer and just tossing thoughts about:

I'd take both, the Tred and the Perdu Sickle, and use them whenever the mood struck me :x

Emo, perdu. Suicidal, Trecedim?

Just to clarify, although I know where you were going with the comment, you would only mainhand a Juggy if you didn't sub NIN (most do) and/or had a ridill. It's the ideal choice for WARs along with Ridill, but not really the standard choice open to most of them.

"Of choice" implies they have everything else they possibly could. That includes Ridill.

If you don't have the choice, then yes, Juggernaut wouldn't be touching your mainhand.

Average WS numbers is all that matters, really. You do no good being able to hit (random numbers) 2000, as opposed to 1700, if you're going to do 1300 most of the time compared to 1500.

After I got my perdu sickle I never used tred again. I never sit on tp ever, even in dynamis, which might explain why I die so often on drk in dynamis. :/

Perdu-sickle.png

Damage Per Second: 10.54 / 11.34
TP Per Hit: 13.6%

Latent Effect
  • Activated when you have less than 100% TP (including during weaponskill).
Hidden Effect
Tredecim.jpg

Damage Per Second: 10.8
TP Per Hit: 14.4%

Hidden effect: Every 13th swing of this scythe is a guaranteed critical hit if it doesn't miss the enemy. Missed swings still count but WS swings are ignored. The scythe has a 'memory', zoning or unequiping it doesn't reset the count.

To me it looks like the perdu would win because even though you get more tp per hit with trid your DPS is more with perdu because you swing quicker. Plus you could use the extra atk to balance out the all the str which most endgame armor set have like heca.

One thing I did notice from that TP per hit thing, is that without any Store TP, Perdu takes 8 hits to hit 100%, Tred takes 7. Of course, those 8 hits come faster too, so part of that cancels out.

Any Drk worth his weight in a merit situation will be using Guillotine. If you don't take off enough HP to have tanking duties not even on the radar, then maybe you shouldn't be playing Drk.

Agreed, that's what /nin is for. Not to be a war-wannabe with 2 dual axes. When I tank I dread drks lol. I find its not the dmg they that do that makes it hard for me to keep hate, well no harder then war or mnk, but those damn job abilities. Last Resort and Souleater generate mega hate....

Only thing worse is a barrage > sidewider spamming ranger.

dread tanking after big ws if fun .. lol >_>
