Question to all Wii owners

Yeah, Nintendo's customer service is awesome, the recognized a problem and had a solution out within a few weeks. It's even more amazing when you consider the shit Sony pulls.

Wow wtf, thats awful >.> Get off your ass sony!!

Sony: Maybe after we're done wiping them with the piles of money we have now bwahahahahaha.

Anyways, I did run into one problem with my Wii. One of my friends was checking out all the Mii's I had on my console, and all of a sudden my controller just stopped working. I'd hit a button, and the lights would blink a few times, then turn off. I even tried syncing it with the system and it still didn't work. But I fixed it just by removing the GameCube disc in the system. Odd little error, and something I hope they notice and fix in a firmware update. But if anyone has that problem, try ejecting the disc and see if it'll work.

That's been discussed a bit swishee here, most people seem to have it when their batteries are running low. It happened to me once when I first got my Wii, but haven't had it happen since then.

lol.. I didn't know about that PS3 having such crappy quality for PS2 games until I saw that a few days ago.. that's so... horrible. Customer service though? I figured that was more the dealing with the customer for personal problems (not a quality on the system over all systems). Which I've never had problem with (getting PS2 fixed for free after the warranty supposedly expired). Anyways.. ya.. if that's not ever going to be fixed that's a big "bleh" for me when it comes to the PS3 since I'll prolly wanna play old PS2 and PS1 games (are PS1 games still fine? cause those weren't really entirely high as is).

On the Wii, I really haven't heard anything about the battery length of it that much, anyone know how long it lasts? (a reason I hate wireless remotes on any system, damn batteries).

All i have to say is Nintendo has top notch customer service. I was using my Wii remote and smaked my hand onto where my TV sits "my room is small". Well the Wii remote died, I called nintendo up told them what happend and i got me a new remote with upgraded strap and free batteries. On top of it all they did 2 day delivery with no money out my pocket. I asked them if they wanted me to ship the old remote back. They told me to just trash it. So in my book Nintendo get an A++ in customer service.

Customer service is dealing with the customer in any way; denying such a big problem exists is a huge "fuck you" to the customer.

I'll never forget, about 4 months after the GameCube was released a friend of mine bought one and tore it up being careless because he "didn't like it." I bought the damn thing for $40 off him. I called Nintendo up, told them my Cube was bonkers, and in four days I had it back, fixed, for nothing. I think even if you did buy the extended Wii warranty, if after the period a problem surfaced, Nintendo would still happily fix it for you.

You get a free 30 day extension on your Wii warranty if you register it on nintendo.com

Yeah, I definitely did that, but paying for a warrant for a Nintendo product = lol.

To my experience, the batteries that came with the system lasted about 35-40 hours of constant use, (my Wii had a major workout the first week I had it XD ) then the cheapie CVS brand batteries I picked up seemed to get about the same time with constant use again. The rechargables I'm using now are lasting quite some time, I've had them in for about two weeks with about 25 hours play time and no sign of drain on them according to the battery meter when pushing the home button (2500mA NiMh rechargables - see thread mentioned above, my second post for info about 2500mA rating on the NiMh batteries). I highly suggest getting the Energizer NiMh rechargables and shelling out about $20-25 for the whole recharging kit and an extra set of batteries, I've found it to be very worthwhile.

I was never a fan of going wireless myself, due to battery drain and costs related to such, but for something that does as much as the Wii remotes do, that is some major charge efficiency, I've had MP3 players drain a pair of AA's faster than I could ever possibly wear out a pair in those remotes.

The batteries that came with the system lasted me about 3 weeks. I typically play about 2 hours a day on average; they didn't last long. I got some rayovac batteries in my controller now. No sign on the drain meter yet and it's been a week. The old batteries were at about 2/3 power by now so it looks like they should have a decent lifespan.
