At the behest of Algus, I tried out the server he is playing on now.

It was a strange experience: I have been playing on Queztalcoatl since I started playing - it's the only one I know. The thing I noticed most about Algus' new server (alexander) is that it is empty. SE should have some cricket noises to denote that server. There were (literally) five people at the South San d'Orian AH. I didn't see a single shout in the 45 minutes I played there.

I guess if you don't like having a lot of people around, and having a lot of new people around, it might be an attractive option. However, for me at least, why play an MMORPG without the MMO? I like how crowded Quetzalcoatl is - to me, it seems more like a real world if there are constantly PC's going about their business, throngs of people around the AH, trains of people going across La Theine.

The other difference that really (and surprisingly) unnerved me was the fact that I didn't recognize anybody! I missed knowing other players, if only by name. Where was Gofive hawking goods in her skivvies? Where was Human with his odd name? Where were Shinreaver and Bigfoot? Where were Analcarrot and Toiletcactaur risking account deletion to play with their... "poetic" names?

The people - even ones I never PT'd with or interacted with at all - are important. Imagine loading up Final Fantasy VII and finding that all the people were different, even the townsfolk? Truly not something I'd welcome.

Well, I guess that's really the end of my little story. I don't think I'll be going on Alexander that much (probably delete the content ID or use it for a Quetzalcoatl mule.) Anybody have anything to add?

Heh, I have never bought anything from her, but I ALWAYS check to see what she has.

Funny, It bums me out when I run by, and she's not there!
I couldn't imagine playing on a different server!

Lol, I could imagine how that would be, I bought from GoFive sometimes some good stuff in there. and shinreaver well I never do see much of him anymore except when I ran into his mule when he was looking for a place to buy linkshells and he told me of his success on the game and about all his gil and how to make it...just made me jealous :P but ah well good to be jealous once and a while. but yea back on point i have a character on another server as well and its wierd cause populated areas for use like South sandy are quiet the quiet areas.

*I don't mean to sound dumb, but you can have a mule in a different world? If you had a mule in alexander, how would you send the stuff to your Quetz character?

Lemme know ;)
JENder

You can't, all items and gil are server specific, so are the names, so a Jender may already be on another server, you send items, they'll recieve it LOL.

I am fairly certain you cannot send items between worlds. My friend plays Asura and had him try and had it returned to him. If each name in all the worlds is original, then items may only pass between the names consistent with that server and not the entire universe. Or so I would imagine.

all the AH prices would end up being the same, you make friends on another server and getmonster signa, 300k on quetzalcoatl, 500-600k on say ifrit, they would all have to end up balencing out, and it would give ALOT of money to the player who use this before the market balances out

AND you can't forget about MagicShop ,the Big Dumb Nekked Galka, who sits right outside the Wind Woods Mog house. Only when I see that huge lump of galka goodness(he has great deals on lowbee magic btw) do I truly feel home. :D :D :D

I have a picture of that goofy bastard. If I run by and he's not there, I MUST quickly go to my PC and take a gander at his ugly mug. Lest I suffer the same disorientation and emptiness.

no once i saw apple move, and i sent her a /t

"OMG the apple juice moves and lives!!!!!!!!"
"heh"
"glad to know you live :P"

she just went into her mog house to get stuff from her deliv box and the safe, then back to sitting there,

The disappointing part of Applejuice is that she doesn't actually sell any apple juice.
