Quetzalcoatl, my 2 cents!

that LS also requires you to use voke bots at HNM camps.

self-edited, I was being mean.

8-hrs a day doesn't mean anything if its restricted to a spesific time zone. And... i hate to admit it, but 8hrs a day isn't a lot for many people who participate in endgame... Its a time sink, and typically people who want to join endgame shells and enjoy doing endgame are perfectly aware of how much playtime it requires, and are actually looking to do for something to occupy that much time.

To require that of your members though seems a bit much =[

I read the first 3 pages of this rant and then quit. But IMO i think SE needs to do a couple things. First off have a npc that u can talk to and it will take u to any zone and u can fight any NM. The NM wont drop and items but u will get to fight it. ME personnaly i hate camping nms. Waiting 3 hours in 1 zone for 1 monstor to pop and then when it does pop u dont get the claim is just frustrating. Maybe im not hardcore or maybe im not a dork but thats 1 thing that needs to change.

The next thing i think needs to change is gonna give me some bad press. Imma tell u right now i have never bought gil since i started playing this game. Except the 1 time i smoked a joint with my friend for a friars rope he quested if that even counts. Back on the Subject/ I think Square Enix needs to start selling gil themselves. You ask why. Personally my only problem with gil buyers is that there supporting gil sellers.Gil Sellers piss me off cause u go to camp a nm and there they are CCing you. Gil Buyers are usually people with jobs that dont have the time to spend to make gil. IF SE start selling gil then u could actually go camp alot of NM's without all the competition. Or, SE could sell R/EX items so u couldnt go back and sell the item u bought gil with. So like u buy a scorpian harness for 10 dollars ur not hurting the economy at all by owning it cause u cant sell it. I dont know this is my opinion. I just think that would be the best way to go about everything cause U would elimanate sellers and buyers wouldnt hurt ecomy. Now if any1 wants to flame me or call me a gilbuyer cause of my opinion go ahead cause i can care less about any of you qcdn dorks.

P.S
any 1 has something negative to me /em tosses a tampon to <t> to stick in their bloody pussy

Agree, i myself am guilty of playing 8hrs + *somedays*, but yea 8hrs does seem much. I guess it depends on the persons perspective.

Someone's prolly said this already but I am saying it anyways.....

On a different server: When one ls wipes on the initial claim the other ls there competing for it /random to get the next lot......

End game is the only real thing I like doing on ffxi anymore and I wanna quit just because of the crap that happens there. Peoples accounts are hacked and they lose all the money the needed to give people... people want an osode but they won't stop lvling a lvl 30 job when their ls needs help farming sky for pop items...... people quit the game after they get nice item and just don't come back....

blah blah yack yack yack.... Endgame makes me end my addiction for the game and very few things on this game I now actually do...

Seriously though... I think 80% of it is the server in general and the other 20% is just children playing a game they don't understand.

i agree with some this but there is the other side, gil seller provide item that otherwise would be have to farm, which i belive someone already said " NA players are lazy" without seller large part of ah whould be empty. I said it once and i still stand by it "seller how hated and distasteful as they are; are needed." Time has a large part of the reason why most ls dont do hnms/wyerms.

Hmmm.

Sky/Sea = big money drops, ability to pimp out an LS faster, doesn't take as much time to kill

Wyrms = 2-4 hour kill time, so-so money drops, and bragging rights.

Dynamis = 1 hour wait time, 3 hour fight time, small chance you'll get possession of AF2 in one night

Yah I'd can say I assisted to kill a wyrm or 2, but it doesn't seem worth it to me to brag about it. I'll tell u something that I'd rather brag about:

All my members have Optical hats, including mages
All my members have Divine Might earrings
All my WHMs have A. head, A. legs, rostrum pumps, & Nobles tunics
All my PLD have w. legs and koenig abjurations, BQ rings
All my MNKs have suzaku suneates, kirin's polls, and have access to osodes
All my BLMs will have ALL HQ Staves, Rostrum Pumps, etc
Little to no turn-over rate.

. . . and the list goes on.

Does that mean that my shell is not as good as a shell that does wyrms because all we do are sky and pop NMs? Does that mean we're not able to do a Wyrm if we wanted to?

Sorry, at the moment I just don't think big kills are worth it. Maybe in the future I'll try it out just to say we did it - but that's for self gratification, not to prove to quetz that SA is better than any other.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to be the "first" on the server to do something. But anything on the server can be beaten if u have a good strategy. It's not rocket science, it's a game.

And as for the revolving door of players, obviously you guys aren't recruiting the right people.

That's my 2 cents.

I disagree with this while in some part tis true, if you look at most the wyerm shells they have all the item you said above + wyerm/dynamis gear. just look at (the ls formally known as JDA) ingeris. majoity of them are in full, yes full zenith gear. One wyern horn from tiamet is what 30-60mil that like 4-12 pop sky gods depending on drops. taking down vytra get you casmire thread/ cloth which is worth more then what you whould get from 2-3 gods as well. While you right just because you dont do them does that make you less of as shell; no. Though to say that wyerns/kings are not worth killing I think that you kidding yourself. ridill, ebody, dalmatica, defending ring alone is worth the trouble, but shells have there limits with work, school and rl it impossible to try camp kings/wyerm in we hours of the morning.

lol what? Wyrm horns are around 8million gil...and the cashmere split from one vrtra is hardly enough to break the bank.

Can add one more shell to the "list" of shells that have taken down a wyrm now...so "Ji the Great," what have you done to fix this "problem" you see?

they are 8 now.. but back in the day we sold them for 20mill+.... when there werent so many around, and pre-ouryu days and the such.

the desynths available for cashmere really ruined the vrtra drops as far as that goes.

this is pretty much what we do, we kill to outfit our linkshell, not for profit so to speak.. once we get everything we need, we either move on, or then sell them to better the linkshell in other ways.

Noone wears full Zenith gear. They may have it, but there aren't any circumstances where it works as a set, and it would be rare to have more than two pieces on at once...

Kirin is there whenever you want him.

CoP Wyrms and Kings are there about once a week on their own schedule, and even then you often have to compete to get them. That's the real reason few shells camp them. There's a huge jump in commitment required to seriously hunt these things, and in a lot of cases the rewards really aren't that much better.

Sky has the biggest rewards for the time spent, in the game...

Congratulations on perseverance’s Victory, I’m very happy for you guys. I think you guys are an organized shell and deserved the win… you ask what I’ve done about the problem in a sarcastic manner as if I’m competing with you or perseverance… You have obviously taken the thread personal for what reason I don’t know. I’m not on here to argue it’s not my style; the purpose of this thread was merely to bring a public light to the issue, and who knows maybe 10% of the 4,000+ people who read this will act on it in some way or another. My main focus is strengthening my shell and nothing else, not to argue...not to compete... not to flame. As far as what I’ve done… what I try to “do” on a daily basis is to make the experience in my shell enjoyable and most importantly fair, hopefully things will continue in this manner and maybe soon we can move to bigger things.

Yes. In the form of greed and desire for power.

Strangely enough, it isn't.

It's easier succeed in FFXI, (and in life) if you're willing to work together to achieve goals, and to be willing to be a part of something bigger than yourself rather than to succeed individually by keeping the others around you down.

Well, I'd say it is part of general humanity, but usually it's immature people that behave that way. People who aren't old or mature enough to move past the "Me-Me-Me" phase of life are the ones who often cause these problems.

Yes, I agree that it is easier that way. Doesn't mean that's the way you're born to think. It's just basic human nature, however, human nature can be changed over time.

The reason I quoted him on that line is because Jibond was saying that NA are the only people in the whole wide world that are like this, which is simply not true.

It's not true, it's a generalisation. There is a fair bit of truth in this specific case though. I can't think of another reason why the Asian Shells seem, in general, to work a lot better together as a shell to achieve goals. The question of individauls vs team approach maybe has some merit.

A lot has been said here about NA Shells working together to get stuff done. I'd put it forward that a lot of NA Shells have trouble working together as a unit. Individual goals seem to get in the way of the group working together as a team. Until a shell is unified in it's goals, it's going to struggle to achieve.
