Quetzalcoatl, my 2 cents!

you're being naive. some of the most successful linkshells on the server are ran by people under 30.
Also alot of good LS are run bye people ages from 18-23 ish well most JPs i have talked to are around that age and some run end game LSes and do it well.

um... ok lol but you didnt say "there are few leaders under 30 that are good leaders"...

you said "no person under 30" point blank period.

Ok, so you're saying there is no such thing as a good leader who isn't 30+, but when it's pointed out that there are a great number of them, you just shrug them off as exceptions and ignore how your point is no longer valid? Sorry, but you can't have it both ways, either you suck as a leader unless you're 30+ or it's on a case by case basis.

Obviously you need some form of maturity to lead, but giving a blanket statement of an arbitrary age while ignoring the plethora of evidence proving you wrong is ludicrous. Actually, now that I think of it, are ANY of the biggest linkshells on this server led by someone over 30?

This is not a rant it’s just an eye opener,
It is very obvious that only one NA LS kills Wyrms consistently on our server, anyone ever ask themselves why? The reason: NA LSs on our server never grow strong enough, mainly due to the following:

Who gives a shit about wyrms, seriously

Anyone can try to be a leader, but no young man/woman can be one. Because, they lack the EXPERIENCE to base their decitions with. I said 30 and that is still considered young (just ask your parents or grandparents). The content of my post can be used in RL and it will still retain the same message.

You obviously haven't met my boss before lol

Honestly, age doesn't matter. Maturity, experience, and responsibility are major aspects of being a leader. Just like you said^^

About 4-5 months ago i was ban, for which of you all think for speedhacking as Perigrine said on earlier locked posts, even though i never got in trouble for such a thing. I dont know why Peregrine attack OH like he did maybe he was in a fight w/ some1 in OH but im not sure, im not going to assume anything because i dont know, i wish he did the same because now everybody that read that posts thinks i got both suspended and ban for speedhacking. But not trying to start an arguement, just never got a chance to defend myself before. Anyways after i got ban, not for speedhacking, I played other mmorpg's inclueding WoW. After doing endgame in at least 3 mmorpgs, you see how each game is flawed in every aspect. Yes in FFXI it seems like NA is in it all for greed and just to get gear while JP LS's work together, and each one of them are more dedicated. However, in my experience, in all of the mmorpg's endgame that ive played, there is gear to be recieved, and in every case, there are people who are in it just for that, but also there are people just for the accomplishment of downing a big boss, or defeating a very difficult mission. In any game where there are items, like in ffxi how there are multiple ways to get endgame gear, there will always be the people who are in it for greed, and others who have just as much as a good time if not better even when they do not get anything at all out of it, in ffxi not even the title for killing tiamat or w/e. From my experience ffxi has the best mmorpg endgame, and overall game structure from the games i have played. It seems rediculous how NA is always belittled by themselves comparing them to JP. Previous posts say that JP work more as a team and strive on getting their goal accomplished while NA only wants gear. Even if that was entirely true, WoW is almost all gear based endgame. Im not trying to compare and contrast other mmorpgs from FFXI, but having played others makes you realize that there are issues in all endgame. The was some people posted before me, they make it seem like kaizen and JP linkshells are the only ones getting anything accomplished, where that is not true at all. The people who are in endgame for gear, get their gear, and their goal is complete. The people who are in endgame to beat ZM, COP, and now ToA missions, well, they get their things done as well. My point is you should not compare or complain about how little people are killing wryms or how every1 is in it for gear. You should not compare a group of people who have entirely different goals. Some of you are trying to compare people who want all god gear to people who are trying to beat CoP and down JoL and whatnot. It just makes no sense. Overall it is obvious that there are indeed flaws in ffxi endgame as was said before me, but it is like that in every mmorpg endgame. You just have to find a group of people who are working towards the same goal as you and want to get the same things accomplished. If you want to beat CoP or something, dont get with a sky LS or HNM LS and then complain about the endgame. Anyways, see you in game as Shapiro.

I dont think anyone was saying that other MMO's endgames wern't flawed. I think the argument was simply comparing how w/ FFXI you are stuck with the same things to do over and over and over again, for vast amounts of time. Where as in WOW, there are patches every few months that add a ton of content.

I left FFXI on launch day of WOW, along with the rest of the old school Dragon Ash people. I've seen and done all the endgame there, and in FFXI (up to that point, which hasn't really changed much, which just is another example of this point). Where both have thier flaws there is a whole world of difference in the entire design of endgame between these two games.

FFXI endgame is more single player accountable. In other words, if a single person screws up, it could mean the difference between win and wipe. WOW on the other hand has an endgame that relies on a 40 person raid force(for the most part). This gives a bit more leeway to the encounters, since the single action or mistake by 1 person has less of a chance at ending that encounter.(with a few exceptions of course) Now don't think this makes encounters any less difficult. It isn't. In fact, WOW endgame is more difficult IMO. The incredible creative design put into the enounters makes learning them a total bitch at first, but eventually you have a real feeling of accomplishment. When was the last time any of the higher end linkshells have felt that feeling on a LS wide basis? Probably not in a long time, since nothing new has been released worthy of that feeling.

FFXI's endgame encounters are very straight forward. A vast majority of fights you fight the same way. Sure there are a few exceptions, but not many. I guess another reason that FFXI endgame is considered by many as extremely boring. With WOW, almost every encounter is vastly different then the next. Sure, there is a fair share of encounters that are a straight up tank/dps/heal fight, but even in those fights there are always incredible scripted events that make the encouters incredibly fun.

Does what I wrote above mean I prefer WOW to FFXI, not really. However I will go as far as to say I prefer WOW endgame to FFXI hands down. It is much more creative, updated a hell of alot more often, and all in all a ton more fun. To be perfectly honest though, these two games are so completely different that its hard to make a rock solid comparison. Both have thier weaknesses, and both have thier strengths. It just so happens that endgame is one of FFXI's biggest weakness in my opinion, and one of WOW's biggest strengths.

Since I started end-game I wanted NA LSes to work together, for once try to do something for the good of someone else instead of just thinking about you big fat ego all day long. Theres no wonder if areas get over-crowded at times if people don't communicate. Ask the other LS when they are doing certain events and scheduel it so that your not there at the same time or even better, merge with their LS. Ofcourse no LS leader wants to merge with another LS because they are afraid to lose their respect and maybe their status as leader and god forbid that happend, I mean they could lose their power to kick someone and influence everyone that person suck because he did this and that when in fact all he did was to talk with his girlfriend which by the way he is also afraid to lose because deep inside he knows that the only reason she is there is because he owns an LS. Even if there were a good leader out there somewhere who would agree in merging his LS with someone else it would still end up with a linkshell with a leader refusing to leave his post because he is a greedy bastard and then in the end the merged "LSes" would have the least fitting leader anyway.

The same comes to normal players, they had a fight with someone 2 years ago because he got Emperor Hairpin after only camping for 3 weeks while you are there on your 1st week but because you fell asleep and it spawned right in front of you, you claim that he was yours and the drop aswell. Now they bring this to the LS, fearing that the other player is going to do something against you you make sure to strike first by telling everyone when hes not around what an asshole he is for PKing you at Valkurm Dunes and then stealing Emp thus getting drop which clearly wasn't the cause in the first place. When the other player return it starts by hes getting kicked all furious of that LS leader for listening to such a nuthead he now decides to make an even better LS where no one from the old LS are allowed in unless they disbanded together. The only problem is that there are no people left to recruit so he got to recruit people level 50 and above but he doesn't mind because they will grow strong soon enough. Sure they do but by that time they have left a long time ago because they get spoiled of people helping them all the time and when no one can help anymore, they leave.

Basicly all I wanted to say is, hurray for compassion and faith in your co-players which brought us this far. And by compassion and faith I mean greed and hatred and by far I mean being roughly 6months behind all other servers.

Wtflolrun-on-sentences. Slow down, take a breath, and for god sakes use some more periods. :)

And all 3 of those don't always come with "age". There are still plenty of 30+
people who lack all 3, and imho, they are not the minority.
