Qufim Fun.

I did all my low level jobs in Sarutabaruta and I made atleast enough to complete the quest atleast 2 times or about 8 necklaces every time I did. That was before I even bothered attempting farming the necklaces solely for Utsusemi. You can also farm the necklaces as you level NIN. Granted you could get to 12 NIN before complete the quests, but atleast then you can get two birds with one stone.

Don't forget that repeatable quests can be one of the least efficient ways of actually getting fame.

I did quests whenever I dropped by norg, turned in a few zinc when I mined now and then...
...and lo and behold, when I went to get the utsusemi quest, there it was.

Of course this game is hard for people who do one thing over and over again and think they're doing it right.

Did the quest as 36+ Whm back in the day.

Kept it forever for the time I'd finally get around to leveling Ninja.

Sold it to clear some inventory space and buy a Monster signa(which I promptly took to Giddeus and beat Hoo's stingy ass to a quivering pulp with).

Got around to leveling Ninja.

Did the quest again on my Windy mule, and apparently 216 necklaces is just enough fame to get you the "Legging" and "Subby" quests, which subsequently bumps you up into utsu range. All that being said, here's how I feel about the matter at hand:

I pride myself on the fact that our LS - UnknownSoldiers - is filled with helpful, friendly people who care more about the individual than the gear. We take a lot of new players under our wing. At the same time, I've often found it better to let someone take their lumps rather than simply spoonfeeding them along. This "Qufim fun" has been one of those instances.

One of the things that I've learned as someone who is considered a leader type among our circle is simply:

Sometimes you burn before you learn.

Very faintly at the top you can see me replying to a question not pictured. The question was "what is norg" , my response "a place"

The huge black bar is from taking a picture of the TV.

Other then being able to see angellita lying, these SS were pretty pointless. If you got any questions about them feel free to ask.

Lying?

So I guess we are to just totally overlook the fact the she said she was kidding immediately afterward . . .

And while we're on the subject of lying, did Chione say beforehand that she had the spell?

I know that it really should be a foregone conclusion that she did have it, but I just wanted to ask for the sake of clarification.

And are you willing to admit the possibility that Angellita wasn't in fact lying, but just kidding as she stated?

Oh yes very much so, but If I'm correct I don't beleive that just kidding to be in the reply to her calling herself a noob. Granted I may be mistaken.

I have known the two of them for almost a year, and I can say uncategorically that Ange is not a newb.

Have you ready my first post in this thread back on the previous page?

Yes, I have. It was very nice of you and I accept the apology you gave. I in no way look down upon your LS, infact I'm partying with a member now from it.

Actually I think you did more than necessary to get the quest. When I did the quest, I did a ton of yagudo necklace quests, went to norg and activated all, but the Uts. quest. I did more and still didn't get the quest. What I failed to realize and may not be posted anywhere online is some of the other NIN scroll quests are prerequisites(sp?) of the Uts. quest, so those need to be done before you can get the Uts. quest. I think in reality you only need about 160-200(I think 180 is just enough, but 200 is safe) yagudo necklaces to do all the quests. Last time I checked, it was 1-2k per necklace on AH so if you were too lazy to even bother farming the necklaces, you can still make gil considering that's 200-400k for the necklaces and the scroll sells for about 950k-1mil now.

Can anyone post what it says? That image is so huge and blurry, it hurts the eyes.

lol glad to hear it!

I guess we could consider this matter closed.

At last sighting, I think that Ange and Chio were still doing their penance in Giddeus :P

Isn't the expression, "Categorically?"

Not quite sure how the linguistics would actually work out on that one, but I do believe that's how it goes. Seems a bit counterintuitive . . .

All right!
I'm most accustomed to seeing this person rotting in Bastok Markets, selling rarab tails and such.

(Angellita) <-- noob
(Araelus) A number of {Ninjutsu} scrolls are quests there.
(Torque) wats your highest Chio?
(Chione) 50 blm n.n
Torque slaps Chione.
Araelus>> ...
(Chione) What?
(Angellita) don't slap my kitty
(Chione) o_o
Araelus is as quiet as if he had a Silence (dunno, the rest is cut off)
(Torque) u ever see one not use {Utsusemi}?
(Angellita) lol cause i was kidding
(Chione) Gift n.n
(Angellita) <-- 73WHM
(Angellita) Bonecraft specs .... >_>;
(Araelus) ...
(Angellita) <- 56 bst

That's the best I could make out.

Unless I'm mistaken "categorically" would imply that I was qualifying my statement. "Uncategorically" would mean that I am stating that under no circumstances could she be considered a newb.

I just looked it up, however, and you are correct. My usage was improper, albeit understandable.

omg...

First of all, I'd like to apologize to Torque. I'm sorry I assumed he had a sense of humor of any kind. I was kidding about the noob thing. I call myself a noob all the time... it's a joke. I played my job as thf and the party was going just fine. Everybody was getting good xp and lvling... so my joke didn't hurt anybody. I mean, this is a game. You play games to have fun, right? I don't understand ppl like Torque who are so serious ALL the time. Lighten up would ya?

And I know it's bad Chione didn't have that ninja spell. And I knew somebody like you was gonna come along eventually and give her crap about it. BUT, the party was going along just fine. You didn't have to be rude to her and you didn't have to SLAP her. If it bothered you that much, you could have just left our party.

To clarify, the reason we disbanded and left was because you were being rude. You slapped Chione and you called me incompetent.. only you mispelled it. (you smart guy) We felt you were very rude and disrespectful. THAT is why we left. I'm very defensive of my friends.

Thank you Reauland, Batash, and Tonic for sticking up for us. They know us very well and they know we were just having fun. Nobody was hurt.. nobody died... nobody lost any xp (at least not while we were in party). So... bottom line... Torque stop whining and next time, be a little nicer would ya?

Angellita was probably yanking your chain Torque. I've known her for a while, and knew her back when she had a different character under a different name. She likes to be a little funny sometimes, and probably didn't realize that you were high level too. You know how fun it is to just mess noobs, right?

*absently remembers the time he told his party that the Kraken in Qufim dropped the Kraken Club worth over 80mil...* Ah, the memories.

You mean it doesn't? Man, no wonder I am 0/754357 on that thing. I always though it was weird I had like, level 30 CC'ers, and they would cheer me on when I killed it.

I was like "HAHAIGOTTHECLAIMN00BLETZ!!!11"

Ya anyway...
