Nooooo, you can have coffee and no ciggies - I do it all the time :wink: In fact, that reminds me: the coffee here at work is rancid, and makes me want to die a horrible death.

What kind of machine is it? Industrial? MrBunn? Normal countertop kitchen piece?

The machine is clean, an industrial thingy. The coffee? Some off-brand subsidy shit. The pots? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty. Those things have been "cleaned" with hot water, but they still have "bathtub ring" in them from old, stale coffee.


Hence, the coffee tastes like shit.

I would assume these would be the tubes with the release pour lever correct? If anyone wants to take the time, fucking scalding hot water rinsing those things out, and making sure to press the button so that the overflow gets rinsed and the guage that lets you know how many cups are held within is rinsed out as well. Depending on the age of the tubes they may have to be replaced.

As for the coffee itself tasting like balls on fire, it might be the brewing process or, like you said, the shitty off-brand crap. Inustrial (typically MrBunn's with the hot water lever on the outside for tea) aren't cleaned VERY much when they're actually meant to. Is it a huge stainless one or just something slightly smaller? Say, about 3' in height?

sounds about right. yes, it has the lever for hot water. i get that a lot for tea :D the tea tastes fine, too.

I worked in a coffee shop for along time :P and I am ALWAYS doing my Sex-Goddessery (new word, yay!). All of the places that I've worked since then have had industrial (or sub-industrial) machines that I'd taken the responsibility of keeping up with them and making sure they're cleaned. If you have a large workforce with a heavy coffee drinking base, you cannot satisfy people more than keeping the coffee/machine in excellent condition.

But yeah, all the best wishes with the quitting of the cigarettes thing. I've tried to get my mom to quit for years (that shit's disgusting imo), but no luck.

And speaking of nicotine gum, I accidently chewed a piece once from a pack my mom bought.
