Quitting Smoking T.T;;

I don't know how much patches/gums can be trusted. I know a woman who quit smoking cigarettes but has been chewing nicotiene (sp, wow) gum for 8 years... >_>

wtf?! >< I can understand wanting a nicotine fix but getting it through the gum?! That shit tastes sooo fucking gross, I don't know how anyone can stand it. It shouldn't even be called gum, it should be called the nicotine hard sucking candy.

Well iso I've never picked up one but i've heard co-workers say a few things

There is some kind of prescription medicine that when you take it, it really makes you sick when you try to smoke but it's fairly expensive and it does actually work but the cost and that it has few results with people since they dont want to take the medicine.

Another is smoking a cig for a few mins putting it out resmoke etc. and etc. it makes it taste worse and worse everytime a few have quit that way.

memory is kinda fuzzy on it maybe someone could elaborate on it better or i can edit when i ask my co-workers what they do

eh, just think of all the people here hoping you quit smoking. Then each and every time you want a cig, imagine all those people getting killed. No pressure. =)

lol, you can do it, just continue to focus on a healthy life!

Bwahaha, could be...

Anyway, she's been doin' gewd, but I wonder if we should trust her with her own dinero? >_> lol j/k

Progressing well, considering the way things are.

I'm proud she's trying and doing as well as she has so far...

It's actually not going as bad as I feared it would. Well.. i haven't stabbed anyone in the throat jsut yet.. but it's still early in my attempt at quitting. T.T;

Arctyrael... wtf >.>;; lolol

either go to the doctor to get a prescription for zyban or start taking a friends welbutrin(spelling)

basicly the same drug except one is marketed to quit smoking,the other for depression. works fucking awesome. smoking sucks and im glad i finally kicked it after years of trying.

Trying to do this without the use of drugs/gums/patches... The way I see it if you can't quit on your own, then you can't quit with assistance from other shit.

but thanks for the input.

To continue this thought... Insurance will not pay for Wellbutrin (which now has a much cheaper generic and has had for some time) if it is instructed as a stop-smoking-alternative. However, it has been rumored to work effectively, so much so, doctors will and have prescribe( d ) it before. lol

As far as I can tell. Iso's nictotine has been cut drastically... the differences between when this first started to now is a vast improvment. At start... it was hard for her to only have 4 cigarettes a day... Now she can smoke the 4 with no problem and even when shes permitted a 5th for her days off... shes lucky to remember that she has that 5th one still. This... is not only an addiction that someone has to deal with but also a habbit. Getting ones mindset on eliminating the habbit is a challenge in of its own.

Hopefully in 2 weeks or so... I will be reducing her smokes to 3... I intend on getting hell for it when I do lol...:shok:

I suddenly had a flashback to "The snozberries taste like snozberries."
Its the drugs talking ^_^;

Clinical studies have shown that people attempting to quit smoking have better odds of staying off nicotine if they have a support group. You have all of QCDN! :biggrin:
