Seriously, no. Not really from all corners. I rarely if ever see "NA only" or "EU only" or "FR Only" in a /seacom. About 65-75% of JP players I see have "JP ONLY" in theirs.

I rarely see an NA player suddenly switch gear or slap me if I check them. I do, however, see it all the time with a large cross-section of JP players, and Raizondetre is the most extreme example in that she loves to harangue a person who checks her in tells, and then across her mules when the "checker" blacklists her.

Generally, I could care less who I party with, so long as I am getting exp/lp. But while I see some animosity from some players who are not from/in Japan, I do see that most of that animosity has been harbored in response to a "JP ONLY/NA {Too weak}" attitude.

This debate has been hashed out so many times it's beyond tiresome.

I have seen "NA Only" or "EU Only" in search comments plenty of times. I have known NA (or english-speaking, anyway) players pull the gear-switch or slap thing when they're checked, and especially by non-english players. I've had people accept a party invite, talk to me in english while they're getting ready and gathering, and then drop the party because we don't have enough Japanese players to make it a "good party".

Regardless of where the racism stems from, whether or not there's a reason for the prejudices, it doesn't change what it is. I do see it coming from all corners (except, for some reason, the Germans . . . all the German players I've met have been chill as hell . . . ) and I do find it frustrating.

Sorry to tire you. ;)

You've just done the QCDN equivalent of dividing by zero :(.

Wow this flame has never been done before....

Oh, I'm sure it has been. I just wanted to get my response in, and the other thread wasn't the place for it. So I made a happy little corner over here.

He didn't say that only JP players were racist, just that FAR MORE of them are than any other group. And he's right. This is a really old topic, and a pointless one at that.

To prevent an entire rehash of this debate, this is my only response.

I have seen "NA Only" or "EU Only" in search comments plenty of times.
I didn't say I'd never seen it, just that I'd seen it resoundingly more on the part of our Japanese counterparts.

When you're looking at someone slapping someone else, how can you tell they're slapping because they've been checked?

This doesn't make any sense whatsoever. That doesn't show a distaste for the JP playerbase, it shows the person involved believes JP players have a better grasp on the game (which is completely false at this point, since the game has been out nearly 6 years total).

The only German I know ingame is Chiimi and she doesn't even play on this server anymore. So I have no opinion one way or the other on German players.

That's because the Germans got it out of their system in WWII. lol ^.~

With that said... lol @ this. Who cares; it's not racism. It's Nationalism. Racism is very different. I don't tell someone "you're asain, you're black. Screw you, I'm not playing with you" (Not to pick on races, just would make less of a point if I said white since I'm about as white as it gets). I will, however, be happy to tell off anyone making my relatively limited amount of time on a video game unpleasureable, as it is a game and I use it to enjoy myself.

Your response didn't really need to be put here. It was written well and makes sense but not in a negative way. He just stated his personal experience and he also wasn't being negative. He just mentioned that he's seen it more often with the Japanese than others. I'm not trying to be mean but I just think this was a waste.

There's loads on Asura, they seem about 75%-25% split. 75% being harmless but bloody stupid and 25% are really nice people. However, as Chii will probably tell you I have a really low threshold for idiots.

Well he was being careful and actually following forum standards, which I give kudos to. It wasn't necessary, as his response to Tristam's comment was thought-out and well written but its rare you see this happen.

Cool beans.

If I still played FFXI, I would discriminate by intelligence level. "IQ100+ ONRY"

the problem is that JP players are
your mother.

I wasn't sure where else to put it. Maybe off-topic would have been better? I just didn't want to drag the bonanza thread any further away from fun.

/sigh, when one opens oneself up for this, i cannot resist.

there's no need for you to write yourself out of every party, rappa @.@

Fixed.

I is a girl. ;)

Ah, terribly sorry about that :3

As sad as it is to say, I pretty much party with people off of my friends list only for this reason.

Morwen is right and I doubt it would have fit anywhere else if you were really worried about making someone mad or derailing the thread any further. I'm not a mod nor will I pretend to be. I just saw that it wasn't a shouting back and forth argument about it and I didn't see it going that way. It is rare for some decisions here to remain civil especially when pulled into the Flameboard. Like I said before I wasn't trying to be mean or anything like that.
