Ranger Invites... non-existant?!

It's in no way my fault the job is screwed up. I didn't ask for the nerf although I did completely welcome it when it happened (I had no idea it would be as bad as it was). As I explained and no one since has given any reasonable reason as to why my logic is faulty, RNG can screw with any form of SC and often causes other players to lose their TP. I don't complain when I play THF that dynamis, limbus, besieged, etc. because I can never land a SA, TA and often lose TP because of a moving mob, I accept it. However, when in an experience party, I can be more selective and fix that problem. Fleist is the only person to bother suggesting standing close to the mob when you WS, but since no ranger I have ever met does this, there is no reason for me to consider inviting one. If you don't like the way your job is percieved, then do something about it or accept it instead of placing the blame on me.

And if the ranger stands close and do crap damage, you will complain about that particular ranger nto doing his job/pulling his weight/leeching/not playing to the full potential/etc. There is no way I'm moving next to the mob to gimp myself so your parser's results can be better.

You don't want to invite a ranger and that's fine, I'll return the favor. I already explained how a ranger can speed up things and how you can EASILY remidy to the TP loss problem, jsut make a damn TP macro to let me know when you have 100 and I'll wait for WS. It's simple, here's a refresher:

/p Lavi TP: <tp> <scall14>

If the ranger sees that, he's not an idiot, he'll wait. A good ranger will finish the mob faster with a WS so if the mob dies, how do you loose TP? And if you're too lazy to press 2 macros, make it one with a /wait.

You can't blame all your precious TP loss on the ranger when all you have to do is a freakin TP macro. You're right, the nerf wasn't your doing and I didn't see anyone blame YOU for it. It's also not your concern nor your problem. Same thing goes for me, your TP loss because because you didn't warn me isn't my concern nor my problem. I'm in this EXP party to do dmg and that's what I'll do.

Sorry if I sound a bit frustrated but it is frustrating. 95% of the time after a party do people remember you putting them to shame with DMG? Or taking 30-40% of the mob's life with one WS? Or speeding up EXP with faster kills? Increasing their DMG with Acid Bolts? No. They remembre that ONE freakin time they lost TP. You lost TP, get over it for crying out loud. It's not like I went AFK for an hour and stalled the party.

Oh and it wasn't me either.

You know you're only validating my reasoning and give it more credence, don't you?

well you can always go with drg or war partner have rng free ws. Knowing SE logic might of what they wanted to happen anyway.(sarcasm)

I see another possible issue (possibly part of the root issue in this thread)

People don't seem to want to coordinate a fighting team in xp parties anymore. I saw more willingness to maintain a Chain 4 or 5 and try for skillchains with MB when I was leveling WAR a year ago... in the jungle... now, people seem to want to hit 75 .. right now, and skip the part where they mature in the Job class they have chosen to level.

I have been in parties (rarely) in which .. even at my low level, we have worked together using the limits of our abilities and run a very smooth operation. It takes effort tho.
spamming your highest ws is normally more productive then most chain skills.

I also had shit luck in the mid 50's. My blm is still 55...been there for probably 6 months or more...and at least two levels of the last five I did solo. Invites on my rdm even slowed down a bit in that period.
the reason above most likely reason why having trouble. Also blm are bad against colibri the whole pld eatting a blizard II not good.

veresko you missing the silver heading. Hard work is not in doing your job but getting gear items to become better at your jobs. Just as they made ninja have to use all there different scrolls when they got there mini nerf as to rng now have to balance there ra acc and ra atk gear to get there full potential. Yes you have to buy arrow for your job but so does ninja, or any job sub ninja. What about corsair they have buy there spells(dice), buy there ammo, and buy tools(cards). Way I see it rng got it good.

If I were partying with a Thief and made to do a skillchain, I'd probably use a gun. It's honestly the easiest ranged weapon to use, hands down.

WS spam is only productive in cannons, which are sorely overused...even worse that the level people attempt to cannon at is getting lower and lower, and results in parties getting 2.5k/h nonstop chaining T beetles in Altep.

RDM don't have a hard time in the 50s range because Colibri reflect nukes (and all magic in general), RDM have a hard time because in the 50s range most are total idiots and don't realize they shouldn't nuke Colibri to begin with. Toss some debuffs, -na the spell the bird copies, and be done with it.

Virtually everyone has a rough time in the 50s because they're inflexible. Parties start to suck because they're used to doing the same crap as they are in CN and Garlaige. Saying SCs are useless just furthers my point - people try to hump low HP monsters, which, suprise suprise, tend to be high eva or resistant to magic.

Because people are adjusting to being inflexible, party (a) is gonna screw around with Greater Colibri, wasting thousands on food or gimping themselves with no food at all, because Colibri have low hp, meanwhile party (b) who god forbid knows how to strategize, can go and merrily knock down a 'serked Cato with a Sidewinder -> Sidewinder SC and get a 430xp chain 6, and can probably chain even moreso now that theres virtually no other campers because everyone humps the repitition of ToAU zones.
rofl more.

I was responding to blm part not the rdm part. Rdm still useful for healing iv'e even seen party where rdm melee fighting colibri because they don't use magic. People do thes mobs because quick easy to heal party. Realitivity no healing, and just about any party setup will work heck i've even had a blu/whm main heal during 60ish puk camp and the colibri camp why because no other healer searching and it worked because these mobs dontt do much dmg.

Help a noob out... whats a Cato, and what zone? I am about to spend my weekend using what beneficial advice I have received out of this thread and would like more suggestions on where to take the party(ies) I form (still RNG51 @ 1300 tnl).

Thanks:)

she means the dhamels in bibi, moto.

ish's point is one of the reasons i dont like the ToAU very much. i was in an exp party with a ToAU crazy player who would not shut up about "why arent we over in the new area's? come on exp is so much faster there." which is a true statement, provided everyone and half their family tree int there with the same thought. late afternoon & early eveing time that place is packed to the walls with exp parties. mostly cannons. i also agree that its warping the preceptions on the lower lvls that mostly see or hear of the speed people gain exp lvls on ToAU zones.

I had an AWESOME party last night, or atleast I really enjoyed it. Nin / Rng / War / Brd / Whm / Blm

Poor Blm didn't get to nuke much though, I could tell he or she was gettin a little irked. (Wanted Distortion for Spongilla's; Slug Shot > Rampage but I would take out 50-60% HP)

Our Warrior lost his TP once tonight, just bad timing on his macro. Went to Rampage a fly with less than 10%HP and our Blm killed it. He auto-targetted the next Fly we had and I guess was still hitting his Rampage macro. Shitty deal~

Well 2 hours for 16k in Mire is way better than 3 or possibly 4 in Bibiki. At some times it was very packed, however most of the time I was pulling Imps anyway. We even wiped a couple times due to a few stupid moves, tank blood aggroing Jnuns while fighting a Fly as another Fly pops ontop of us...Even while being overcamped and wiping a few times, I still gain more exp there than in conquest zones. I'll exp anywhere though, it's all the same to me~fun.

I can hit 1900~2000 Slugwinder to a huge Frag or Reverb on a zerked cato, but if that thing isn't dead and decides to use Stomping...I'm dead.

Imps 1351 (high) and 1010 (low)
Spongilla 1450 (high) can't remember the low.

I was RNG/WAR using Bison Steak, sex. :nyam:

till SE balances the exp bonus people will continue to go to the new areas like above quote. Either give same bonus to the old areas "may be only active after 55 or something"[so the lower lvls dont get the exp bonus] or take exp bonus out of the new areas. Even still new areas be more preferred because there easily placed for constant chains unlike the spread out areas of the old lands. Plus no silence or paralyze to worry about like you would if you was fighting coeurls, tigers, or Cockatrice (oh my:wink: )

It of couse can't be the fact that all of the exp mobs are super easy and respawn in under 5 minutes, right?

Considering how much people panic/whine when the Candescance is gone, I'd hafto say it's at least 80% because of the XP bonus really...

Thats more about not being able to portal to the exp sites than the exp bonus. Heck, even the other bonuses (refresh, food length) are better than the exp bonus.

I'd hafto question why if it's just that. Yeah, Ilrusi and Periqia would be more or less shut down but getting through Mamook wouldn't take any longer than it does getting parties to Valley of Sorrows, and getting to Halvung camps is incredibly easy even without staging points.

Still personally think it's mostly because of the XP boost though. I've been in several parties where they've quit due to no XP boost, and nothing says it better than the leader saying we should stop due to poor XP after a chain 83.

GO DRG!

That is all. Continue.

It is mostly about the xp boost and the refresh effect. I also think about 40% people don't know where valley of shadows is or would get lost trying to get there.

.. Rumble crawlers kill me in 3 hits, Antican... won that fight... Korraloka Leaches... rape me usually (if not for the RDM who popped them for the quest using Gravity, Bind, and Sleep... I would have died) + Ranged attacks are hard to land strong on Leaches... at least in my experience. Just because I haven't attained a level capable of Breaking 2k on a GOd... doesn't mean you should tear someone down for being a little excited about watching their charactor progress and anticipating what may come when they accually get to a high level.

edit: Just wanted to add something positive as well XD

Took the advice of the helpful posts here (several of you THANKS^^) and made me a party last night. It was 4 parts Jp and 2 parts Eng... and we went to the CN for Helm Beetles. Had a good time and I am now 52 (5200/9100 too) so thanks again for the encouraging words and help you all provided. Hope to see you around in game sometime^^ who knows, maybe when I hit 75, I can be of some assistance to someone. Always glad to help^^. Take care
