I'd say the magnetic earring is probably better. Conserve mp is huge for a mage, and rdm already has enough fast cast that the Loquacious earring probably won't do much; diminishing returns and all.

Magnetic would be good in virtually every case...only I could think of where Loqua may be better is if you're /NIN and casting Utsusemi, but then it'd still barely help.

ya was thinking that lol but solo i going have suppanomimi and bruital earring. so solo reason is out

But think about it this way. If you get the earring you could take away the fast cast hat and still keep the same fast cast ammount. Replace the hat with something better?

I use both but keep my Moldy on me for Magic Bursts. I Magnetic kicks in alot on casting spells and saves mp between converts. I like fast cast so use the Loq. Earring also with my Duelist's Tabard. Being able to cast a faster raise in trouble or a cure out there seems to work on bigger things.

I'd go with both Loq & Magnetic.

From what I've heard the fast cast from loq isnt that
noticable. (Atleast if you're using af2body & afhat.)
/vote Magnetic

Moldy Earring is worthless for the most part on a RDM. Enfeebling Earring would only help when doing a HNM or maybe a BCNM/KS and you really need enfeebles to stick. When meriting, I'd go for both for the MP addition and the Conserve MP and the MP Regeneration. Even though RDMs never have time to rest lol.

I have personnally experimented Loquacious. I am disappointed : fast-cast acts just like other fast-cast gear exept that it happens only occasionnally. With AF Hat and AF2 Body, a rdm casts all his spell after 45% spellcasting (instead of 65 ?). You expect to reduce it to 40% with loquacious but it is not the case : sometimes 40%, sometimes 45%.

I have not magnetic earring, but it sounds to be the best earring. For second earring it depends what your are doing. I use diabolos earring in dynamis.

I prefer more well rounded rings than ones for specific uses, so /vote magnetic there are other pieces that are better than loquacious(sp) imho

I agree with the view on Enfeebling; anything a RDM can solo they can (usually, unless it's a T Jug or Bomb or something) enfeeb...though, I think what you said about Molda isn't true. Just because RDM nukes don't do as much as BLM ones doesn't make the earring necessarily worthless, especially in some instance such as chainspell-nuking. If the item helps something the job does, it's not useless. Maybe not as useful for them as it can be for another job, but not -useless-.

I'm curious as to how Loqua works now. I've heard it "sometimes adds 5%", but Fast Cast isn't a random trait. If it's flat-out enhanced, it's flat-out enhanced. This means same with Rostrum. You guys sure it's not just a constant but lower than 5%? Or maybe the 5% is just so little you just don't notice the difference, especially considering RDM get so many other fast cast traits/enhances? Just wondering.

*agrees with Mishaela* Chainspell nuke is very useful with capped elemental I can take about 60%- 1mob and 20% of life if i am at enough mp.

At first the trait fast cast for rdm was random but that was changed a long time ago now its perpetual, not sure about rostrum but i don't many items with perpetual "enhance fast cast" if any including warlock cape

If you fight an IT, you are likey to be resisted a lot, even with with elemental skill max. That is why they said moldavite is useless. In this case you better have the +5 elemental skill earring. If it prevents just one spell (out of say 5) to be resisted then the resulting dmg is better.

example : imagine Blizzard 3=500 dmg max

chainspell Blizzard 3 with moldavite : 4 non resisted 1 resisted = you are missing around 250 dmg (total=2250 + 5%=2360)
chainspell Blizzard 3 with +5 elemental earring : 5 non resisted = 2500 dmg

Not to mention IT mobs might resist you more than that based on what gear you have (and here in my example the spell was only half-resisted)

Finally if you know you won't be resisted, moldavite will be useful of course. Don't forget that RDM have a maximum of 230 elemental skill, which is 46 less than BLM and 26 less than DRK (o_o).

NOTE= fastcast is permanent on rdm AF1 and 2

Well, at endgame you rarely, rarely fight ITs (at least, I rarely see any parties do this since it's been concluded that nonstop-chaining T/VT serves as much better XP), so wouldn't your example be best placed pre-70ish, when Loqua and Magnetic can't be worn anyways, which would mean people could just do a Elemental Earring/Moldavite combo? I know it's a totally different case at HNM/Gods, but most of those have such an insanely high resist rate that 5 elemental magic won't help much vs those either.

Even when chainspelling, I'd rather have more MP and do more nukes then adding maybe 20 more damage per nuke. Espically with the Conserve MP Earring, that'll be more efficent then a few extra damage. Only reason a RDM should grab a Moldative Earring would be for I believe its CoP 5-3 the Snoll BCNM. That's the only case a RDM should wear a Moldative Earring. 'Cause thats the only case a RDM needs to max out damage in a small amount of time. People just use it 'cause its free and NM is easily beaten and hardly camped. Otherwise, its a useless piece of equipment for a RDM. Mine stayed in my Mog Storage after I got until I did the Snoll BCNM and I capped Elemental Magic on my RDM. Even then, my nukes weren't worth the MP consumption and time. By time, I mean casting a worthless damage spell over a cure, haste or another refresh.

Once you have Enfeebling Magic capped, when meriting, your enfeebles should stick 3/4 of the time, unless there just that resistant to that type of magic spell. So, as I said before the Enfeebling Earring would only make a noticeable effect would be when doing Wyrms or other high HNMs and BCNM/KS where you need a certain spell to stick. But even for those, theres equipment swap macros.

Still say go for the MP, as they'll help you last longer and be more efficent to the party. Longer times without resting/converting.

i remember reading about the loq earring once and it was tested with a parser of some sort, that came to the conclusion that AF hat is 5% haste for spells, AF body also 5%, but loq earring was only a ~1.5% improvement on the haste effect

(and after looking, i can't find where i saw this info >.<)

That has nothing to do with endagame or not. Even VT mobs are hard to nuke for a rdm. And in endgame, dont bother nuke in dynamis with moldavite you'll just be ridiculous (eg blizzard3=24 dmg). BTW the wizard's earring gives +5 elemental and is level 30ish.

As far as (H)NM are concerned, i think any +enfeeble skill is useless, because they usually have some "special" resistance to enfeebles : a normal BLM can nuke them easily, while a rdm just cant silence, or it is VERY hard.

And trust me +5 elemental is not useless when you have 230 based skill. If you have AF hat (+10), AF2 legs (+10), elemental torque (+7), master caster bracelts (+7), ice staff (+10) then you can nuke like a naked BLM, which means you are much less resisted. You add others pieces of armor that drop from sea gods and limbus. I think you can have a maximum of 289 and more if merited. If so you are barely resisted in xp parties, and can also start helping your BLM mates in dynamis. Not to mention some piece of the JSE gear that give magic accuracy.

Please slap yourself for making this idiotic comment... With all the + Enfeebling Magic you can silence HNMs or Gravity them and help out your team. Just 'cause you can't get it to stick in a few trys doesn't mean you can't. Hell, it took me 20 tries to silence Tiamat for like 20 secs which really helped my team from getting spammed with Firaga III. So please, never say Enfeebling + gear is useless on a HNM.

I'd go with Magnetic *AND* Loquacious. You can use both, and both are usefull. Get them.

Personally, I got Static Earring, and I <3 it. But you sound more in to Magnetic. Either way, get both :P

I have 330 enfeebling skill, don't get resisted a lot <.<;
