Get yourself a Geist Earring for +1 MND, and a Morion Earring for +1 INT.

At 73, get the full set of Errants. Screw Wise, its only usefull for Drain, aspir, and some nuking.

Also, you might want to consider some HP -> MP rings for Convert, and then switch back to MND/INT gear once you're done with those.

I assume you're using AF body for enfeebles, which is just fine untill Errant Body :p And if you can afford it, do get a Vermillion Cloak. Its an excellent resting piece untill Errant (or just standing around doing nothing).

I don't know about the newer choices of gear available, since I got my RDM to 75 almost 3 years ago, but your gear seems just fine ^^

Go for a spider/enfeebling torque as well. Beyond 72/73 99% of your parties will most likley be canon, in which case you can forget the enfeebling, there won't be time. Look towards lots of MP once you start these types of setups since you almost never have a chance to stop hasting/curing/erasing/refreshing/blindnaing/paralynaing/silenaing. Personally I use Ether and Tamas ring as well as an Astral Earring, and keep MND+ stuff and af body handy to enfeeb the occasional Skoffin.

At your range you'll most likley end up fighting those reflective birds, or lower tier Gobs and birds in Bibiki. This just shows that you need a basic MP whore set, as well as an enfeebling set. It's pretty useless to enfeeb the reflective birds, whereas it's pretty useless not to enfeeb the ones in Bibiki.

If you want to be a nuker, in solo for example, use that wise gear, it also helps for enfeebles ( magic acuracy). The evaan rse is good part to have. For HQ staves, get ice (bind, paralyze), dark ( for sleep, aspir, drain, dispel) and wind (gravity). I forgot which elements are slow and blind.

Oh, yeah... forgot Enfeebling Torque

Enfeebling Earring is usefull too, if you can get that :p Its mostly for HNM's and gods, though.

Ya, problem with Wise gear is that it concentrates on Magic Accuracy. And for most cases, concentrating on only Macig Accuracy and Enfeebling Magic, makes it easy to stick your enfeebles, but makes their potency next to useless. And what's the point in sticking an enfeeble that won't do anything?

Usually, the best thing to have is a good combination of Magic Accuracy/Enfeebling Magic, and INT/MND. Enfeebles are generally cheap with a low recast time, so resists generally isn't that bad. The only enfeebles you really need Magic Accuracy to stick without making the enfeeble itself next to useless, is Bind, Gravity, Silence and to some extent Sleep. Ironically, these are also spells that are rather vital in soloing situations.

So for most enfeebles, do concentrate on INT/MND rather then enfeebling magic, unless the spell seems close to impossible to stick (Gods, mainly... they have higher resist rates then HNM's). You have to priotitize though, so its really up to you to find the combo that works best for you.

I was also trying to hope if someone could recommend druids slops over magic cuisses.

I want to treat it like att and str use druids for healing/nuking and swap in cuissess before mb but its not quite the same case with ele skill and int(correct?)

Getting mp+ earrings should be put on the list(thanks for help) actually we also do defoliators still and puk traps, but colibri will be horrible>_<(read:loves to nuke) once i start exping off of those

my char needs a lot of work so no tamas ring yet and blm and whm are being worked on

and resting gear since i only have dark staff and food for that (recommendations?)

Not to sidetrack this thread, but it seems fitting and really doesnt merit its own thread.

How do you RDM's set up your macros? I'm only 29, but at this point... I have all my nukes/enfeebs macrod - spell only... and I have INT gear and MND gear macros. So I just switch gear and cast spell. Come higher lvls Ill need an enfeeb macro and max MP macro for Convert.

How do you guys set it up?

Elemental skill+ will reduce resists while INT will boost the base damage of a nuke. But bear in mind, that although it is significantly less likely, it is still possible to be resisted on a MB, so it's good to keep at least some elemental magic equips.

Also Khidir, SMN isn't a very viable sub for RDM. The benefits of /SMN pale in comparison to those of /WHM and /BLM so the sooner you can get them up, the better.

Think (just off the top of my head):
- Div/Ele Seal
- Erase, -na spells
- Elemental debuffs
- Reraise
- Protectra/Shellra II
- Escape/Tractor/Warp
- Aspir/Drain
- Teleports (Mea, Dem, Holla)
- Sleepga
- Curaga
- Barelementra and Barstatusra spells

Can't get those from gear :D (well... except maybe Reraise D: )

Good Luck ^^

rdm is at backburner atm while i get my other main jobs up, i may lv it to 65 with the possibility of doing dynamis which i havent decided if i am going to yet.

but yes I know too well >_<, i was a noob once now a gimp=/

i understand the difference between skill and int but which would you guys recommend? overall?

trust me i want blm and whm lved for many reasons=0

yes i said blm Z=D

i was wondering something similar myself.. i am about 3k shy of 50RDM and i was told to basically go all out on MND and mix in some MP+ gear. i was switching between electrum rings and solace rings, but now i have ether ring and will soon be wearing that with hale ring. i use MP+ hairpin and two geist earrings. the way things have worked out, i end up with about +11 INT and +30 MND, but i was trying to get a better balance without losing too much MND (since i usually have WHM sub and main/solo heal). i'm still confused on what stat to focus my main setup on and if BLM sub (and the extra set of INT gear that i barely have room for) will ever be useful to me since theres only been one occasion where i wasn't main healing, and theres barely time left for nukes.

also... i doubt that ill be able to afford vermillion cloak or ocean stone so.... is shaman cloak (INT, MP, enfeeb+, elemental+, Lv 56) and reverend sash (INT, MND, CHR, hMP, Lv 40) switched with powerful rope (20MP, 20HP) a decent substitute at that level?

and last question... is there anyway that i can cut down on my macros? i switch between 4 lines of macros for parties (and sometimes i dont feel that that's enough) and i havent even made any specific to BLM sub. and then there's the ones for solo/duo..

RDM/SMNs would give me the giggles if I didn't have to Dynamis with one of them two nights a week. While the rest of us are being flexible and taking our lumps from spamming Sleepga, he gets sit back and live life as nothing more than a Refresh whore. It's even more annoying when you consider that the rest of us had to level DRK for one fucking fight, while he's not told to level a job that would make him useful in all six zones.

Blue Cotehardie(+1) is a good peice until you can get your paws on some zenith for convert. Ideally, you'll want to macro in enough MP on convert to make the MP spent curing yourself free. Even then, MP >= HP is still fine in a cannon situation (where you 10 to 1, would be be /whm) when you dont need MND/INT to cure or haste.

Snow/Aqua rings are quite exspensive, nice, but not nessicary. @ 50, Hale Ring is a nice little alternitaive to swapping rings, while opening up another slot for a peice with a greater amount of MND/INT (devotee's, errant feet, so on and so forth)

as for HQ staffs...
1. HQ dark (drain/aspir/sleep series, blind)
2. HQ wind (gravity, silence, aero series)
3. HQ ice (bind, paralyze, blizzard series)
4. HQ earth (slow, earth series)
5. HQ water (Poison series, water series)
6. Anything else

Sleep needs to land, and drain/aspir working at it's peek it vital. Gravity and silence is exspected to land from a rdm more then any other job. bind need to land as well, while paralyze is debatably the most imporant debuff that needs to land on something that warrants debuffing. Slow is quite imporant to land, but not so much over elegy or hojo. and last but not least, poison II for anything that needs DoT or kited.

also when /blm, the elemental debuffs are quite useful.

I honestly wouldn't put H.Q dark at the top really. Sleep almost always reaches it cap with a N.Q dark staff, and with H.Q slow/ice, you could use even more MND gear then you would normally, allowing them to be even strogner then they were before.

As for Drain and Aspir, most of the time Convert will be ready when you run out of MP anyway, so those aren't really *THAT* important to RDM. They are more important to a BLM.

Ive got no problem admitting that everyone who subs /blm or /whm is a better player than myself, but really Neyla I'm a noob and your a pro even when i sub blm, wouldnt you be better at spamming sleepaga+es since you have a better experience/higher lv than myself, if i was in dynamis?

I understand you dont want someone making your job look bad in any situation, but I'm not exactly on NW yet for my gimpness. People can get put on there for just about anything it seems.

Uzor can you look at my comment on the first page and give me your thoughts?

much appreciated guys

I don't really care if up and coming RDMes are gimped as long as they have all their spells, and atleast decent gear. I saw a 75 RDM last month with lvl 10 N.Q int rings, 1 elemental staff (dark), full AF, lvl 14 MND rope, and 2 Morion Earrings. no range weapon nor neck piece. That almost made me cry. I started praying that he was a GS. That's probably the first time I've ever actually hoped someone was a GS.

well by look your gear seem you focusing on int and mnd, which is good. Like other said enfeebling torque whould be the the first thing you should get, helps alot. The 4 int/mind rings are good till you can get snow/aqua. Then maybe a ether ring in the other hand untill you get your hands on tamas. Chasuble is nice for nukes not really enfeb. 15 enb beats 5 ma acc. Also duo for very nice show body. Notice you didn't mension your belt, but penitent belt is very nice. Also rse belts are nice if looking for more mp. raindow/prism cape is must have. Also if you can get your hand on hedgehog ball it a great range peice, if not phantom tathlum does fine. (pretty cheap to)

Lot of the zenith/crimson gear and AF2 also are some peices you should be look at.

As for hq staff upgrade go wind>ice>dark>earth>thunder>water>light>fire.

Also if you plan to do dynamis or sky think about lvling you drk sub and maybe brd if you want be in manaburns.

well one the good thing about rdm is the job stand for it self. Almost any sub will work and a rdm can do his job. Though smn whould not be my first choice. I can see the benifets considering your a elve and all. bigger mp pull and extra refresh tick. Might be nice for the later cannons where mp become pry one and int/mnd take a backseat.

yep i have bad memory i posted i have a RK belt+1 not much but it will last until i get a P. rope suggestions you guys have made are great thanks again

The way I'm looking at what should be bought/quested via Assault should be (cheapest to most expensive of the top of my head >_>)

Water Staff
Red cape+1
Justacorps+1
Fire Staff
HQ Morion Earring
Hale Ring
Pentients rope
Hq staves of Wind and Ice
Elemental Torque
Enfeebling Torque
Forest Stone for mp whoring as advised
Phantom Tathlum
Hedgehog bomb(pie?)
Intensifying cape
Hq rings of zircon and aquamarine(or check prices and wait for next ring upgrade)
Errant set(Do i need all of it?)
Chausable
Vermillion at that time i'll probrably be able to afford hq

Was thinking of using intellect torque but seems useless since +3mnd is easily outdone by promise badge and the +2int would only be for 5 lvs until torques
