Rdm soloing help

One time in which it is probably "worth it" to cast blink is right before you engage, one time. I can't see there being much argument against this.

Mid-battle casting, however, seems unnecessarily long and tedious to me to be worth the benefit it grants. In that long casting time, you're giving up several hits that you yourself can deal.

Right. At the start is good, after is wasting mp/time. Although when I soloed hippogryph's in SiteB01, I would use shadows and blink. Most checked even match - tough. Also, I will use blink if I parry/evade a lot and blink lasts longer than 2secs.

For other, tougher, mobs (multiple hits), you'll want to take a more black magey approach. That is to say, sleep, bind, gravity, and nuke.
actually, this is only half true. if its something weak like a mandy and hits multiple times like a monk, just set up phalanx. only a few points of damage will ever get through.
for soloing, just level enhancing magic, and use phalanx, stone skin, protect IV, and be sure to enfeeble pretty much the same way. blind, paralyze, slow, but you may want to use bio insted of dia.

If you are soloing stuff, you should be doing something you can take down with only phalanx/stoneskin. Once you've killed one of the mobs with just that, and you know you are gonna be there a while, feel free to bulk up on the buffs.

This has always been a nice indicator for me as to whether I should even bother, as we all know the worst possible outcome is usually the most likely, and you should be sure you can handle that before setting up for the long haul.

I solo'd myself a couple thousand xp, to get to 70, in Eldamine Necropolis. But I made sure I could handle a mob without my buffs beforehand so that I wouldn't feel panic'd when they dropped. The most important thing to have when soloing is composure, as flipping out over links and whatnot will usually get you killed.

For me taking tuff mobs (sometimes just barely living) is more intersting than an easy mob that takes less effort to take down. Normally anything under It wont drop phal/stoneskin too soon unlike It+ mobs that drop buffs in 1-2 hits. 3-4 decent-even chal mobs at once = <fun> & <excitement>.
