I've gotten to the point where I don't accept gimpiness in my party setups. I'm sorry, but if you're any player who refuses any kind of advice, then you don't deserve to play this game. This game is about community, and learning from that community...I just don't understand why people like this can't seem to get their heads out of their asses long enough to realize this...

In his defense

This kid has not been playing long. He figured out how to level and is going with that. He thinks 10k gil is a ton. He is NEW!!!! You were new too once!!!! He just leveled a lil faster than most newbs because that is all he has figured out how to do really so far. I took him to his first PCC run and he kited well. He also went on another PCC run recently where a PCC dropped and he got taken advantage of. It went from a split to your orb your drop. They effed the kid. He should have his mil of the split and be a half decently geared squirt.

Queenandariel sent him /tells trying to get the kid to lot the PCC and steal it from ashkill (i think that's who it was) to just split amongst those 2. The kid stood up to queen, and said he wanted no part of the shady business. I'm gonna have to commend him for this one.

I went and helped him get his carby mitts as well and the kid did fine. No I did not check his gear to see how gimp he was, no he didnt do anything in the fight besides give us earthen ward. He did however keep himself sneak'd and invis'd the whole time and didnt die along the way, magic aggro, or pull a link or ask stupid questions. The 75's that went along all did this in some form or another. Hell I magic aggrod the manipulator while trying to draw aggro from behind the door to not have to farm the prelate key. He did pop the NM a tad early but only because of a miscommunication where someone was saying "ok" to me in the party and not "ok u can pop now"

Leave the kid alone. Instead of flipping out because he isnt rocking the gear you think he should have, offer to help teach him how to get his RSE after the party is over. Suggest an NM or two that he could go camp to improve his gear a little bit and go out there and camp it with him for an hour. Show him how an NM works, teach him what a lottery spawn means. Suggest some websites or links to help him out. Fame guide, equipment guide, job guide. Sure have a quick laugh at his newbness but then do something instead of stand around thinking u are so effing leet to help a new player out that you obviously see is struggling.

I laughed because he did the same thing in my sisters ls. To make it better, he gets mad because I wont help him with avatars or carby mitts.

Oh and Nicholette he isn't a new player, thats just one of his user lies.
 
There's a difference between "not rocking the gear we think he should have" and wearing a bronze harness at lvl 51. No one expects pccs in your inv when you ding 33, but you should at least be able to keep upgrading your gear beyond lvl 10. Screwed from a bcnm or not, he isn't doing himself any favors exping in his current gear. If he took the energy he's put into xping and went to a zone like Pashhow Marshlands and slaughtered everything that moves, he'd have that mil by now.
 
I understand when people are new and helping them out and all that. This kid has an advanced job to level 50+. He is way beyond being new to this game and should have picked up on some of that by now. I never had anyone hold my hand threw the game and teach me how to do it. I went online there is pleanty of information all around on things that need to be done and how to do them.

I really seriously doubt that in all his levelin to 50+ not one person has suggested he farm for gil and let him know to get better gear before he partys, people like you have obviously helped him learn a bit. 50+ with that gear just shows you don't listen to what other people say.

If you read this thread we've been saying that since page 1. We offered advice and gave constructive criticism. But from most our experiences with this guy he refuses to change (stubborn). And the way I see it, he wont change because too many ppl, namely the ones that allowed him to get this high and get all this stuff are "spoon-feeding" him EXP, gears, etc. Regardless of a fact that he his a child or not, I know alot of ppl on here as Winkle said "arent tactful" about giving advice in the right way but you have to draw the line somewhere. If this many ppl are telling you that you need to change for better either you need to or you don't simple as that. Considering all that's been said so far it seems like he doesnt take any advice and just keeps assuming that his way of playing is right.

I myself told him, from one SMN to another to no let his avatars stay out and melee cause he is the healer and my BRD's MP cannot handle just main healing even with Ether and Astral rings on I didnt break more than 350ish MP. Since we had a NIN tank all he needed to really do was use Earthen Ward and Fenrir's buffs when he had MP and cure us. But he didnt listen and as a result we wiped. After we decided to change camps we asked him to do such and such, to the effect of what I said before about buffs but he was like: Get out of my face, I'll do what I want or something like that. I wish I had Screenshots to show.

Yes everyone is new at some point but as I said in my previous post, at lvl 50+ you tend to get a full working idea of how to do your job by now. Apparently he hasnt taken any advice really in 30 something lvls.

We've all offered him help, advice, and even a website or two that can offer good pointers or other information valuable to playing the job.

All of which was just shrugged off.

Try reading and absorbing the material through your skull (which is proving to be pretty thick at this point, if you're going to open your mouth without thoroughly reading the prior posts) and quit making pleas to leave this numbnut alone, he deserves whatever comes his way for such a shitty attitude toward some constructive criticism that could improve his playstyle.

Heck, I didn't even show an ounce of nastiness toward him until he had the audacity to ask me to help with those Mitts, after I politely said no and asked him to quit bothering me.

Let me go back to a couple weeks ago in which my static and I were partying in KRT.

We all tried to tell him he was mainhealing and he kept whipping the avatars out and trying to be a DD.

He took us giving him advice offensively and replied,

"Yo dawg, I can do without the name calling I got kids, son."

Apparently, this guys' toon is used by more than one person. ..Just let it drop, w.

Ok, I retract most of what I said. I think I was reading too fast and kind of skimming and did sort of ignore some of the tactful ways you all tried to help him. It was just the carbys mitts post that kind of bugged me because he didn't really do anything wrong then and it is a moment where he was trying to improve his gear.

The other thing is I thought he was new. Like 2 months new and I just felt terribly bad for him. If he has been playing for a year than I am just ridiculously shocked.

Anyway I apologize :)

On a side note I did help him a few times, taught him what a bcnm really was and took him on one, got him some carby mitts, pointed him to the blu mage compilation on alla. So i helped, I did my part but he does ask me for help like every day. I am a little annoyed just because I dont have the time to help everyone everyday. I am ok with helping others just as long as they dont turn it into a major habit ya know?

Sold it simple as that. He probably got something crappy like body.

Edit: A good paladin shouldn't expect to die. You should trust the party around you that they know what they're doing. When my PLD was in those levels I think I died a whole whopping 3 times.

Hold on a second here... So if this kid was playing this game for a few years, maybe he quit, gave away all his stuff, kept his character alive for maybe a few months. Then went to play WoW during that time, and became utterly stupid from that retarded game.

He could've then soon quite WoW from its boringness, came back onto FFXI but had nothing, decided to go back on BLU and lvl that up, but forgot how to properly play the game, and was used to playing with retards the last little while?
