Some how, the hackers are back at it again. Someone failed at hacking me today because i was online, but my friend was hacked and I heard that Zalbar got hacked 2 days ago. . .

This is still rediculous.
 
ffxi.somepage.com got infected again some time ago. Did you visit that recently?
 
I went to somepage last night to check on something -_-
 
Flashblock ftw. WoW, FFXI, etc all got owned by this huge exploit.

i feel sorry for your other friend. we had a member of my dynamis shell online last night that said he just got his account back that day.

good thing i never go to somepage...the only thing there that other sites don't have is the skill cap calculator which is cool but not really necessary
 
Firefox or IE, doesnt matter. Its Flash that had the problem. I updated my flash last night, but idk if Im good or not. I have my POL pw saved and set to auto-login though, so keyloggers cant grab me. Same for almost any site I visit that I need to log into.

Well it was a Trojan that I found on my machine when I swept it after my 2nd account got swiped Wednesday. While leveling a mule in West Ron, I started to dc and then it gave an error message about logging in on another machine.

When I tried to log in it just said wrong password/ID. I /sea'd my 2nd account and sure enough it was in lower jeuno where I had logged him out. Couple of /tells later, 2min, the char was logged out and none of the mules were logged in for about 2.5-3 hours(waiting for a GM and on the phone with PoL). It was my friends account so I'll have to wait for a couple pieces of info from him and hopefully get the account back on Monday.

One last thing. If you see a taru named Glob running around punt the motherfucker for being a RMT!

somepage, wiki, ffxiah, ffxiatlas, and campsitarus. were the sites I used besides my normal email and things.

Yeah, I would have seriously been bummed if that were the case. I'm still bummed my other taru has been chinapped but I should be able to get him back on Monday I think.

It was a lot my fault though. I shut off one of my security programs while playing an offline game and forgot to turn it back on. I also had the same password in both spots on that account. Thought about changing that for a long time but just never did. I guess I learned from that mistake and won't make it again.

This is the 2nd time ffxisomepage has been directly involved in some bullshit like this... I for one will never visit that site again, not that its useful anymore anyway, and I'm even going to delete the bookmark for it. Do they even update it anymore? Last time I went on there a while ago it had a lot of missing information on the new expansion. So if those losers can't even keep up to date with the updates SE releases something tells me they can give two shits about securing there own advertisements.
 
it wasn't the advertisement. The hackers implemented it directly in to their news page. Its a MySQL issue most likely.
 
I'm not sure if this has been answered before, but if your password is saved so that you don't have to type it in every time you log into FFXI, you would be saved from keyloggers correct?
