Multi-Plat Red Dead Redemption

Im down lol, I'm gettin my gf to play it too. Whats ruffy's tag? I have yours.
 
I have a difficult choice. I have to choose between purchasing this or Super Mario Galaxy 2.
 
I had this long spill of stuff typed out as to why I do not like this game but then thought it all the more wiser to delete it so as to not hurt any feelings. So in short, I haven't played any of the MP yet, but from 10 hours of SP experience I can say this game, to me mind you, is just awful. I'll keep playing because I want to like it, but when I beat this dredge of a SP I will consider it a feat of strength. Hopefully the MP will be something to my liking, then again, I find their inability to make even a remotely smooth shooter aspect very unforeseeable to that.

For those of you who have invited me to play, I appreciate the invites, but for the mean time I'm gonna keep pullin' teeth and get this SP out of the way as fast as humanly possible.

Ok, is that a glitch or did someone jump the gun? Never seen a chariot bounce up and down like that at a stand still...lol

actually that is a glitch. My friend at work told me he has climbed a fence before and suddenly shot a hundred feet in the air and fell to his death, he has seen other people do it too.
The multiplayer needs patched because its hard as shit to stay connected to free roam and half the time either you are invisible or your horse and everyone else is. Public free roam that is, private has been fine.
Besides that, i havent had any other issues and im lovin it!
 
Couldn't take the SP anymore so decided to jump on in to MP and give it a whirl before I sold the game. Needless to say I wont be doing that. The Free Roam is criminally fun, and for not much of a good reason, it just is. Nothing like sittin' far from a hot spot with a sniper rifle pickin' people off or tryin' to lock down a town with lawmen and players gunnin' for you. The competitive modes are very, very well done too. I was figurin' that would be a cheap add on but it's probably the most fun I've had shootin' people since the first Lost Planet. Didn't even have any lag issues once I got out of a Free roam and into a competitive match.

Despite all of that, I wouldn't call it GOTY material, but then again, I haven't scaled my standards back to more adequately fit the games made now days.
 
The public multiplayer free roam is pretty much the only thing with the glitches, and it has alot. However, imo its nothing that cant be fixed with a patch so im sure theyll get to that.

Its not the most addicting and awesome game ive played, but its very fun, and it will always be something to hop on and play with a few friends.
 
I've been enjoying this game a ton :P I'm not even that far though :( at least I don't have as bad of Gamer ADD in this game as in Oblivion/Fallout 3
 
well they announced the incoming patch earlier today, but i played free roam for hours and never had a glitch, loved watchin my posse try to take down a most wanted guy in another posse and fail, while i sat back and sniped him right in the face, then it became an all out war between our posse and theirs. Till we all hopped on some carriages and hit a gang hide out.

But now i need to step back and hit the story mode, i usually never touch a multiplayer mode without first completing the story, and at this point...i cant tear myself away from story mode. Its friggin awesome!
 
Wow, so, you can get booted from a Free Roam match. That's pretty damn lame considering who made the game and what they stand for. I was just mercin' fools left and right, had a nice 3k+ Bounty, holdin' down Armadillo when all of a sudden I got kicked because apparently 5 people out 8 people, which is odd because the room had at least 20, voted me out. That completely takes the fun out of Free Roam. Way I see it, if you want XP without any of the festivities, stay in a private roam. So anyway, that brings the game back down to "meh" status for me.
 
I'm playing but this game is infuriating when your PS3 is dying. I froze up today 3 times and to save is a bitch when you're in a town/gang hideout/ what ever. You have to run out in the field or get a room, it's bs.
 
I'll never get why so many seem to have having trouble with their PS3 on this forum o.o I've never see any problems on my end (unless I leave it on for a week straight or more even though just slower loading). that sucks though try calling Sony? x.x
 
Hate to double post, but I wonder if there's a way to make people leave the table at Liar's Dice. I've been playing it awhile now since this stranger's mission has the ante at 200 per :P so I'm trying to see how much I can get and it's been awhile.

Finally caved and bought this game this weekend and I'm totally blown away by how fun this game is to play. I never liked any of the GTA games so I was going to skip this title, but Red Dead is pure win.

Haven't tried multiplayer yet but I will once I beat the single player. Add me on PSN if you want to posse up and shoot some shit when I get there.
