Last night as I sit preparing for Einherjar and shooting the shit on vent with my shell mates, I noticed my 360 locked up. It made a nasty clicking sound for a few moments before I shut it off.

When I tried to turn it back on, the 3 red flashing rings of death informed me that my 360 had finally passed. At least it lasted a couple of years....

So anyways I MUST go out and buy a new 360 tonight. My laptop is not a viable option since the update is not installed and it has some hardware "issues". It is for vent only.

I already have a couple of wireless controllers and a 120gb HDD. So I think my best bet is simply to purchase an arcade model and attach my stuff. A couple of things though I need help on:

1. Best Buys website claims the arcade model has an HDMI port. Really?
2. I CAN attach my HDD to the new arcade unit without a problem. Right?

I'm just going to abuse my lunch break to head over to Best Buy and pick up an arcade. Unless perhaps anyone else knows of any nifty bundle deals in the $250 or less range at Circuit City or Gamestop or something? Help me out!

I'm pretty sure all models now have an HDMI port.
As far as your harddrive goes, it should attach to any model.

Didn't Microsoft extend the warranty for a total of 3 years? Just don't feel like waiting 2-3 weeks and save yourself $200?

At least the acrade cost $200 lol, and people thought the arcade was useless!

Thanks for the feedback Anglis.

I'm shocked the arcade is HDMI. I got a new 1080p tv with extra HDMI ports. My only issue is that I know the 360 caps out at 1080i. I'm just not sure it's worth an extra $40 and HDMI slot when the 360 doesn't support 1080p or play Blu Ray.

And while Microsoft did extend the warranty, I have a LAUNCH 360 from back in 2005. EB Games basically laughed at me when I initially had problems. I'm just going to bo Best Buy this time and spend $40 on their no hassle warranty. Unless of course there is a more compelling bundle less then $250 someone informs me of before lunch time. (NON REFURB!)

I don't think there are any bundles under $250.

Also you're right about the HDMI. I see no difference on my tv when I use HDMI or standard HD cables with my 360. I only use HDMI on my PS3 since it has Blu Ray, and I only have one slot.

I decided not to go with the Replacement plan, Gamestop wanted $60 for it. I decided I could wait a couple weeks if it broke lol. Also, I just got the Elite two weeks ago, so it has the new chip, so I shouldn't be too worried.

Your right on this, i was talking to the gamestop guy friday and he told me that all systems have "HDMI" in them the only thing your really paying for anymore is the damn harddrive, i have a 20GB HD in mine but i paid $120 for my 120GB and it attached to my consol just fine. the only thing i really had to do was get a code and cord from MS so i could transfer all my stuff to new HD.

When my 360 bit I bought a new arcade model, because I couldn't wait. I just slapped my old HD on the new model and it was like nothin' ever happened. When my broke one got back I just sold it to cover my losses but if you can wait a week just send it in, the extended warranty covers launch consoles. It basically gives you an extra 3 years *from the date they announced the extention* unless I'm missin' somethin'. Mine was out of its original warranty when it went out and I sent it in no problems and no questions asked.

Just so you know for the 360 warranty or w/e it was extended like a year ago or w/e for another 3 years I believe and when mine broke I just filled out a form at xbox.com and they sent me a box to send it back and I got my xbox back in a few weeks. Gamestop wouldn't take it but microsoft did.
