Redskins and Cowboys

So... I'm guessing you don't think there's any great QBs in the NFL? Or is Peyton a godsend? Despite having a much much better supporting cast that Brady for every year except last year?

Peyton is good but great nope. If he could be consistent against every defense I would say great. His failure against NE time and again playing them just doesn't let him play at the next level. I really do like Peyton and I think he has a huge future in the NFL after he is done playing. I really think he will make a great coach one day with his ability to read other teams.

I think your standards are rediculous. It's like you want some QB to go to a team with no O-line, no recievers, no backs, and make them score 40 points a game. Riiight.

No. I want someone like Marino. And I hate the dolphins always have. Someone who can take a bunch of nobodies carry them on his shoulders and take them to the playoffs time and again.

I think greatness is given out far to often to people that have far from earned it. QBs today are given way more credit then most deserve. They have a line that lets them sit in the pocket forever and they still throw a 5 yard pass to a receiver who breaks three tackles and gets 45 yards. The QB is now considered amazing because this happens over and over again.

Brady was a dink'n'dunk QB his first few years for sure, you'll get no argument here, but in the 3rd superbowl season, and every year since then, he has been throwing much more than 5 yard passes. You must also credit the QB for running the offense, not just completing the passes, you should keep that in mind.

Also, Marino played in a different game, the game is much more passing-heavy these days, whereas Marino had a great running game around him, to support him, and some non-pro bowl, but quality recievers. He was similar to Brady(pre-Moss/welker) in that he made his average recievers better. I think you're placing a double-standard, you're saying Marino made his recievers good, whereas Brady had good recievers to start with, but Brady MADE his recievers what they were, Brady was responsible for Deion Branch getting that great contract in Seattle, and look what Branch has done since he left the Pats; nothing.

I am not just talking about Brady. A lot of QBs today get more credit then they deserve for receivers breaking tackles.

Don't get me wrong Brady is no slouch. I just don't think he is great. One thing I will definitely say I like about Brady is his ability to recover. He throws and interception one play and the next time he is on the field it is like it never happened. Most QBs let that shit get to them and make more mistakes. This last super bowl was the first time I have ever really seen a team get inside Brady's head. Maybe it had to do with him being hurt and getting hit a lot. I for one didn't count NE out until the timer ran out in that game.

I agree with you on that point... Brady was actually bother by the Giants D-line, because that unit played out of their fucking mind in the superbowl, it was really impressive. Not to mention the Pats kept trying to go deep when they clearly didn't have the time for that, I'm not sure what was up with the game plan. I was pissed, suicidal, etc. XD

For reference, I AM a Pats fan, but I try to be realistic and reasonably objective about my team, but Brady is my favorite player of all time, and I think he's going to end up being one of the greatest QBs of all time, simply because he wins so much, and I think he'll keep winning.

Edit: One more thing: Do you think that Marino's recievers never broke tackles? >_> lol

He very well may be someone I consider great one day. Today isn't that day.

I knew NY had a defense but even I was shocked at how well they played. One thing that did NE in is the same thing that allowed Ohio State to lose to FL. Both teams should have won but thought all they had to do was show up. The teams that should have lost actually showed up to play and were not just handing a championship over.

I am lucky because well my favorite player doesn't play anymore plus my team sucks so I can be really objective. Priest Holmes was amazing to watch but even as good as he was his line should be given most of the credit.

edit: I would never say they never broke tackles. When I watched games of Marino while he was playing I thought he was just pretty good. After watching some of the amazing passes he has made I realized how good he was. Long and short passes. I would love to say Brady's passes look great more then 20 yards. The fact is those passes really do look ugly most of the time.

If you watch Brady 7 years ago, yeah, I'd agree with that, but, again, he's come leaps and bounds in the past 4 years... his deep ball now is as good as anyone's in the game. Marino was definitely amazing, I can't argue that one ;) Holmes was also a magician, he was a great back and it's a shame he got hurt.

Not sure how much of this past season you watched, but he was an all-around awesome QB this year, throwing every pass, running games brilliantly, everything.

I will have to admit this passed season I missed a lot. I really didn't have time for watching much football. Business was going south and we had a lot of work to do.

good show today. this forum is gonna go BOOM once football season starts. i cant wait. :)

i post when i can, try to keep up with the current brady debate lol

shyrra i pretty much see/know you are a REAL pats fan(so many fakes out there!). me being a buffalo fan makes us almost "enemies?" lol

i personally believe that tom brady is a great qb, has a good line...has great options to throw too..and has a pretty good back..good mindset and a solid arm too boot, BUT doesnt take too much to make a qb look amazing.

now im not fully discrediting tom brady because of the fact that hes been put to the test and has passed.

this season will be the real test for him. if he has the willpower and/or determination he will show if hes the qb that he appears too be or just some good qb that got some pretty sweet inside info on the d. i really look forward too seeing some pats games this year because of that.

btw im hoping the bills will beat the pats ATLEAST once this year. :) :)
if not, wildcard is okay by me.. :(

Um... k
I still think the topic is Redskins and Cowboys, not Pats vs. NFL lmfao
I'm just gonna sit back and watch how the season plays out like I always do, before I criticize any other team.

BEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWH!!!!!

26-24 FUCK DALLAS!

Holy necro batman, the Redskins beat a quality team XD Too bad my faggles didn't capitalize and lost to the bears... But hey, amazing job on defense. The 'Boys deserve to lose if they're gonna run it 8 times with Barber and none with Jones

It's what happens when you put the complete game into the hands of Romo!

He might be a likeable guy and put up some stats, but man he's overrated as the best in the NFC. I still think Bree's is the best QB in the NFC right now.

Brees, Warner, Romo...

Redskins don't buy the hype on all pro QBs.

Well i'll give your team credit. Teams that don't turn the ball over win, period. If I read correctly, your team hasn't even turned it over once.... and that stat is crazy this far into the season.
