regarding VM as well

In continuation of probably disabling the rep system can we find a different/upgrade to the VM/ or permanently disabling it. I've had to delete/report a few unwanted messages... As well as many other people. The VM is supposed to be for pleasant comments, not for dickheads that want to abuse it.

A prime example is the last comment that Hexx made in there. If he wanted to comment he could have commented via rate down(reputation) or PM. But instead he wanted to punch at me in an area Not the flameboard..

Many people have complained about situations where the VM's have been tampered with or where they have had to delete them.
 
VMs are reportable, easily viewable, and deletable by the user. Reputation on the other hand is not always the easiest thing to get to, is not reportable except via PM and not something the user can easily get rid of. For those reasons, I don't think ridding the board of VMs would be the right choice.
 
as long as something can be done if someone writes VMs that are inappropriate i have no problem at all ^^.
 
Report it, delete it, and let us take care of it.
 
at the moment I'm only able to report violations of VMs.

I can't delete them atm

Went to VMs went to view conversation> only edit I saw was for my own messages. Not for anyone that has commented.

Do me a favor, click on your name on the "Who is online" part on the front page and take a screenshot of what your user page looks like and PM it to me.

I don't see edit button for other people's messages either.

So are we supposed to be able to edit the VMs that other people leave us? Or just the ones we leave other people? To the best of my knowledge, I have never been able to edit a message left by another person.

Here is a couple of screenshots that show what I can/cannot do.

Maybe there is something wrong with Jyak's permissions that he can't delete his, but I don't see a problem with the way my permissions are. I thought that was the way they were supposed to be. Should I receive an offensive or inappropriate vm, I can delete it. I can't edit what someone else says anywhere else as I'm not a moderator; I don't see why I should be able to with vms.

that works. Thanks linhjah. I didn't know it worked like that, the old system allowed us to soft delete directly from the post.... sorry for the mix up.
